Hi Kaspars,
Can you test your great plugin with the current version of WordPress and then update the plugin files? The Wordefence security plugin currently lists the Custom 404 Error Page plugin as abandoned.
]]>Hello,
For some reason when my custom 404 page pulls up, it displays the header and footer, even though I have the header and footer turned off on the page it’s using. Please advise…

Ist the tool GDPR compliant?
]]>hi, I patched your plugin to be compatible ith WPML :
custom-404-page.php : line 168
++ if ( function_exists('icl_object_id') ) {
++ $id = icl_object_id($this->page_for_404, 'page', false,ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE);
++ $post = get_post($id );
++ } else {
$post = get_post($this->page_for_404);
++}
]]>
If a bad link is clicked or an error made typing in the URL, my custom 404 page will appear. However, if you use the WordPress Search box – and a page is not found – then the default 404 page comes up.
I would like to use the custom 404 in both cases.
Any clues?
Using Avada theme (who recommends your plugin for doing custom 404)
I’ve set up a page, selected it in the Reading settings but page errors still go to the default (https://homeopathyschool.org) instead of the new page.
Using Headway themes which doesn’t have a 404.php template.
Thanks in advance for your help.
]]>Hi,
I would like to thank you for developing this nice plugin.
The Problem I have is this. I have a page created and it looks great, that your plugin links to for my 404 page. Here is that link: https://addiction.staging.wpengine.com/page-not-found/
If you go to a fake name on the website to actually get the error page, your plugin adds a space in between my header and menu. The original page works, so I know it’s not that. It has to be the plugin. Here is a fake name you can try to see what I am talking about.

As you will see the plugin adds in a space that is not on the original page, between the menu and header. Can you please take a look at it to give me a solution to this, I would appreciate it. I really want to use this plugin.
Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
I’ve installed this plugin some weeks ago, but it didn’t ever work at all.
Okay, I could try to switch to another plugin, but that would be LAME!
I try to understand the reason, WHY it isn’t working and I want to help, so other users don’t run into this problem, too.
Take a look at g00fy-online.de (my main web project), but don’t try to read it .. except you are capable of the german language or own a good translator tool! I like to use a custom 404 page, because I don’t want to edit the WP2k14 theme files (which no one should do).
If I enable the plugin and keep the default 404.php template page, everything works fine: invalid URLs get redirected to the default template. I don’t like this one, so I’ve prepared another page, which I selected to be used in the corresponding dropdown menu in the WP backend.
Now, when I open a non-existing page, it still shows the default page title, the menus and theme .. but no text anymore!!
How could this happen?? Is it perhaps related to the missing closing tag at the end of the plugin source code? Have I done something wrong? And why is the rum gone??? (just kidding!)
I don’t know, but I guess, you can help!!
Side note: I’m hosting my own small vServer, so I’m able to “dive deep” into any system, if necessary! ??
Greetings

WordPress site on Yahoo! hosting.
Trying to solve issue with Yahoo hosting where htaccess is not allowed and want to have pretty permalinks.
Part of solution was to set up custom 404 error page, but for some reason all other sites page are listed except for Home page. The solution was to set the 404 error page to index.php, but I cannot specify that either.
