I’m attempting to import a CSV with a few columns. All of them import except for one. That one is a custom taxonomy for a custom post type I created in Toolset called Product Categories, which should simply replace the regular categories you’d see in standard posts.
I have no problem naming the custom post type column ‘csv_post_type’ as you might expect but I tried ‘taxonomy-product-category’ or ‘csv_ctax_product-category’ or just ‘product-category’ and none of them import. I also tried just calling it Product Categories and again, same deal. Doesn’t import.
The name of this taxonomy is Product Categories with the singular being Product Category and the slug being the aforementioned product-category.
So what would work to get this import to completely succeed?

I have used this plugin also I have created one custom post type on our website.
I have one .CSV file with around 40,000 posts.
Now I trying to import the custom post from admin ( Tools > CSV Importer ) option with the uploading .CSV file.
But after some time getting bellow error:
“Proxy Error”
Resone: Error reading from remote server.
After that I see in admin in custom post type then I see only around 1,000 posts imported.
Can you please help me with this?

When you import a csv file of posts, the user that is logged in is not assigned those posts. Another user becomes the owner of those posts. This started last year sometime.
Otherwise it works great on WP 4.9.10
I don’t get it. In your sample.csv and function.php files you name csv_ctax_art and csv_ctax_country but hierarchical taxonomies have only one parent label (like art), they don’t have a sub-lable (like country).
You are suggesting to adapt the custom taxonomies to the plugin (via functions.php) but it should be the other way around. Can you clarify?
And how would one import a post that belongs to more than one taxonomy?
I want to set the post ID in the CSV file. I have a column csv_post_id but this doesn’t work. How can I get it working?

In column I have

But what it does is it created
UK->England
London
So london is not created under England but as a primary or standalone taxonomy.
I have had a look of couple of posts but couldn’t get this working as you can see its a simple parent child relationship. Please help.

How can I import but have have the SKUs that match keep what is currently live for the product.
Essentially I would like for the products that are already live to stay as they are and not update with the CSV import. I know that I can remove the SKU from the import list but it would be extremely tedious to do so.

Hello, I am using your plugin to upload content to a custom post type – called “Diamonds”. I created the custom post type with Types and Views. And I used WordPress’s featured image rather than adding a custom field for the image of the diamond. So… I have all of the info importing beautifully… except the featured image. My client only needs to use 8 images over and over again. The 8 images are for the 8 different diamond cuts that he’s selling… round brilliant, princess, emerald, etc. So there is no need to upload a new image for each diamond being added via CSV Importer. I want to add images that are already uploaded to the Media Library. Is there a way for me to do this with your plugin? It’s working beautifully otherwise. Thanks so much.

I have a couple thousands posts. I want to change a custom field in each post about once a month. The custom field will also be unique for each post.
It would be so much easier to have an Excel document I simply update once a month with all the new field items, then simply use a plugin like CSV importer to update/overwrite the custom field on each post.

I don’t understand why, but I have a feeling it may be down to each field needing to be enclosed in quotes, and that content within each post is interfering with this, and breaking?

I downloaded CSV importer but was having issues with it creating new posts for every one of my uploads, when what I wanted it to do was to update existing posts that were already uploaded on the system.

However when i upload the plugin, I get the following error:

Does any know the cause of this and can you offer any soloutions? I checked the instructions and I followed them as they were described.
Also, if you have any other suggestions about the original problem, which is that I need to upload new meta data to 100’s of my existing posts and pages. I was hoping for some kind of uploader that would help me achieve this without spending too much time on it.

I am huge fan of your CSV Importer Plugin and using it on my website dilsediltak.co.in. previously it was working in a superb manner. In last few days, I have to go thru a wordpress upgrade from 4.0.1. to 4.1.1 during change in my hosting services. After this upgrate in WP, CSV Importer plugin is creating duplicate categories. Now It creates a new category with the same name (slug name changed) even that category already exists. Please advise me how to overcome this problem. Are you releasing your new version fully compatible with wp 4.1.1 or pls suggest me something so the I can fix this issue.

i have no problems copy-paste from libreoffice to wordpress
but i save in csv format and csv-importer creates all posts without any format. Any solution?

I’m trying to import 30K custom taxonomy terms into the taxonomy, i.e. CSV with 1 row of 30K lines. Have split them into 30 x 1K line files but still causing yr plugin to crash.
The import is working but only if repeat importing each file 3-4 times, i.e its skipping records already imported. Does your plugin have a time limit / records limit & if so how can I change it?
