I fixed a few basic bugs to get it working, but then there were more bugs so I gave up. But maybe there’s not many more bugs to fix? Still it’s pretty complex.

Sadly this plugin crashed when activated on my test WP installation, which has a few plugins installed but otherwise is pretty clean right now.

Sad because the functionality looks very impressive and clearly a lot of effort has gone into development. However I just don’t have time to investigate it further.

Really this merits only 1 star, but I’ll give 2 for effort.

Here’s the error message (which suggests a basic SQL syntax error – surely not?):

the only pain in this pluging is the very slow learning curve.

I’m thinking of providing the community with a ‘get started in 5 minutes’ tutorial as it is not that difficult at all, if you have time and enough ‘pain’ to get it working for you

Don’t give up on this one it’s worth the investment to learn how it works. While it may have too many feature and the flow is a bit funky it’s a very powerful plug. For the price you can’t beat it! (tongue deep in cheek)

I love to use csv2post plugin, but since there is a plugin that updates 8.0.0 makes me difficult to import data csv. Anyone can help?

I use the plugin Easy CSV importer, but not used this plugin yet.
I read the description of the plugin and I think that it is also the powerful CSV importer like the plugin Easy CSV importer.
I think that I will not be disappointed, because Ryan is the professional programmer and he knows his work.

There is clearly a LOT of work gone into this plugin… but the time needed to figure it out is too much… already I’ve spent hours and I ended up deleting it. Simplifying it and making more intuitive would go a long way in making more user-friendly because at the moment its way too complicated.

I am helping a friend/client install and learn CSV 2 Post, I am also purchased a copy of the original CSV2post some time ago.
At first, to the novice, this plugin might be a little difficult to comprehend. Overwhelming to many.
However, as you read the documentation and begin to understand the depth of functionality available, you will understand the complexity of the plugin.
This is not a click, click and your CSV is installed.
Weathered and experienced CSV users who understand the differences between different CSV files, also understand the complexity of importing CSV files.
This plugin rises to the challenge and meets the needs of importing many different variation of CSV files.
For those of you that might have difficulty with the plugin. The developer provides AWESOME and professional support. If you can not figure the plugin out on your own, do not hesitate to ask for help. Support is top notch!

You need some training in explaining simple things. You are not doing this (perhaps deliberately?). Its not even clear what stage one is in the set-up process. You have advertisements between steps. for example after I FTP my file to the correct directory – to correct location “csv2postcsvfiles” folder as the file is big – there is not way of knowing what to do next. I mean cmon.. Then you have all kinds of advertisements asking me to pay for help. :)) In one case I see payemnts of $299 or so for complete help in installation. (I wonder why one would need that help?) ??

After completing all the stepps… it finally comes down to the last step (18)… and then error: ?Problem Detected – A problem was detected during the post creation process. The severity can only be established by checking logs and any posts created or expected to have been created. Feel free to contact the plugins team for free help.?
Why is there not a check after step 1???

I’ve waisted my money and time on various csv importer plugins.

Last week I purchased the csv2post Plugin and I am very impressed.
The Features are just endless. From SEO to Database importing options, creating import Templates and and and.

I personally treasure that this company offers the same plugin (with less Features) absolutely free. That gave me the opputunity to test the main features.

What really impressed me, was after I bought the plugin. At the beginning I had some questions about adjusting the features. The support is outstanding and reliable. After I contacted the support, I got an answer within 1 hour. I assume with all those features that the plugin has, they must hav many programmers involved, which therefore can assist there customers.

It’s a fact. Just need to install them all and compare the key features.

CSV 2 POST has far more ability and if your good with PHP. Extended the abilities even further is easier in CSV 2 POST than the other plugins.

This deserves 5 stars for the amount of time and effort put into the 20,000 lines of code. Then it has been giving away free for any developer to hack and expand to their hearts content. There are developers using this to provide services to clients.

Sure there are some bugs. What would you prefer, some bugs and the great support at hand or start a plugin like this from scratch?

A new version is about to be released and you’ll struggle to find bugs in it. What you will find in it is support for WordPress 3.6 Post Format feature, added well in advance of 3.6 being released.

The developers of this system seem to think that the only thing you want to do with your website is import CSVs. This plugin may work… I don’t know, I didn’t get that far. They force you through about a 10 step process to get to the end and I lost patience when the system threw me into maintenance mode.

It is one of the most bloated, self-indulgent, and incomprehensible plugins I’ve ever used: kind of like irradiated, mutated Joomla component.

That said, I’m struggling to find a plugin that works, so I may be forced to come back to this one. If I do, I’ll be very unhappy. It’s so overkill.
