This Plugin has the last changes made about a year ago. It is no longer maintained.
I have not yet found an alternative to this plugin.
Do you found one?
How do you inject the creative commons Metadata into your posts?
It would be great if someone could adopt this plugin and maintain it.
The former developer is accessible, but has no time to maintain the Plugin:
“Please note that this plugin generates licensing metadata that is different from the metadata generated by the online tools at CreativeCommons.org.
Due to lack of free time, there are no plans to work on this plugin in the near future. If it does not work as expected for you, I strongly suggest to look for other plugins in the WordPress Plugin Repository.”
“NOTICE: THIS PLUGIN HAS BEEN DEPRECATED. IT IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED. IT IS NO LONGER TESTED WITH NEW WORDPRESS RELEASES. USING IT IN PRODUCTION IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
IT IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED TO MIGRATE TO OTHER MORE MODERN AND BETTER MAINTAINED PLUGINS.
IF YOU ARE STARTING A NEW BLOG, IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO SEARCH FOR OTHER PLUGINS IN ORDER TO AVOID THE INEVITABLE FUTURE MIGRATION.
REGARDING EXISTING USERS, AT THE TIME OF WRITING, THERE ARE NO MAJOR BUGS. PROVIDED THAT THE WORDPRESS API DOES NOT CHANGE SOON, YOU HAVE THE TIME TO EXPERIMENT WITH OTHER PLUGINS AND PLAN YOUR MIGRATION.”

]]>I just installed Creative Commons Configurator on my blog (oreilletendue.com; WordPress 4.4.2 with the Twenty Sixteen theme).
When I want to activate it I received the following message:
It brings me to a page that reads, in French:
“Oups ! Cette page est introuvable.” (Oups! No such page.)
Thanks fo your help.

Thanks for your interest in using Creative Commons Configurator and, also, for your feedback.
For various reasons the forum and the reviews on wordpress org are no longer monitored by the developer.
Please, check the description page for more information about your free support options.
]]>Hi George
I modified your plugin for my blog : I wanted to place the license banner before the post.
So I added a configuration field to choose the position of the license block and I implemented the feature.
As I don’t know how to update the translation, I don’t made a pull request to add this feature. If you’re interesting, I can do this.

]]>Hi,
I need to know if your plugin can handle post meta to insert the licence? If yes, how have you named this post meta?
I′ve found a frontend upload plugin, which can handle post meta fields and give access to text fields etc. to generate with this input the right post meta. I can send you the premium plugin for testing if you would like to.

Ben

]]>My site has a separate page on which I make clear my normal choice of CC license. There is no point in displaying a visible license text block on every page/post/media item. I use this plugin because I do still want the ability to specify different licenses for different items.
I would like the option to display the visible license text block only on items for which the license is different from my default, while still adding machine-recognizable license information to everything.
I would just add a license shortcode wherever I want license information to be visible, but I fear that might lead to inconsistency if a post’s metadata specifies one license but the shortcode specifies a different one.
]]>We have converted a website from another CMS to WordPress. The content had license information for each post, which we ported into a field called “Lisensiering” in the wp_postmeta table. Is there a way to write a conditional snippet in the lines of “if Lisensiering is not empty return that content, else return the content of _bccl_license”?

I can see cc-configurator-fr.po/mo files, so I should be able to turn all the texts into the french version.

]]>I hope this question is not too stupid ;/
So far the plugin runs perfectly for posts, but in addition I’m looking for a possibility to publish photos under a CC licence. First try was to add a gallery to wordpress. Withe this CC Configurator I get the expected message at the end of the gallery (… licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License..). Will this licence affect the photos of the gallery? Or is there a better way of doing this?
Thanks for your help,

]]>Currently the license link point to english version of page in creativecommons.org
A useful feature for a localized weblog could be to add a setting to allow adding the (for example) “deed.es_ES” termination to target URLs.
This could be implemented with a dropdown list of locales, or simply with a free textbox.
Thanks.

]]>Hi George,
have an idea, and think you’ve got most of the cod already in your plugin to do this… How about adding a shortcode to allow embedding a license in-page? I’m thinking something along the lines of:
[cc lic=”by-nc-sa” ver”3″ size=”small”]
That would produce a small, linked badge in place.
The reason I sak for something like this is for producing show notes for my podcast. Since I play a lot of CC music and provide accurate attribution and license information.
For an example of what I current do see: https://cerebralrift.org/2014/12/30/cerebralmix-2014-12-28-top-15-for-2014/

]]>Hi,
Installed this plugin for the first time today (31st Dec 2014) and ran into this 404 error. Got it when clicking Activate or Configure. Initially I had installed it from the Web UI. Later I removed it, downloaded the zip from www.remarpro.com and uploaded. Same error.
Other plugins are ok. I can deactivate and activate them. Any suggestions on what I can do?
As suggested in another post I also deleted the plugin folder and reinstalled.
Thanks,

]]>Hi,
How can I tweak the code to make CC Configurator to default to no license (manual selection). For my workflow selecting which posts would require CC is the standard, but CC Configurator assigns the CC automatically. I need it the other way around (Maybe a feature for future release?!)

I’ve updated to version 1.5.1 and my custom message in the box changed to the one by default.
I know I can change the message editing the “cc-configurator.php” file but I’m not able to delete the link in the text as I had done before updating the plugin but now I don’t remember how to do it.
I only want the image (linked to the license) and the text I write in the box. How can I do it?
And, one more thing, will I have to edit the .php file every time the plugin is updated?; with previous updates I didn’t have to do that.
Thanks and regards.

]]>Major refactoring has taken place in v1.5.0. Also, the mechanism that manages the settings has been re-designed.
Although all your settings from previous versions of the plugin should have been migrated automatically, this does not happen for the setting that contains the URL to the page containing extra terms and conditions.
If you had filled in a URL in that field, the value will be missing after upgrading to v1.5.0. Please, fill this field again and save the settings. Everything should be fine after that.
If you notice any other glitches, please let me know.
Thanks
