Hey there,
I’m wondering if your plugin can do something like this: Users select or input ingredients they have, and then it suggests recipes from our website based on what they’ve got. Is that doable?
Thanks!
]]>Hi!
First of all, thanks for continuing this amazing Plugin! It really is the best!
I would love to know if there are any plans (or will be an option in the future) for making a switch for metric to imperial (or the other way).
I want my website to be broader and the best way is to have a switch between the two measurements.
Hi,
I have more than 500 recipes made by your plugin. Migrating them to default WordPress posts is a big hassle. Do you have an automatic or easier way to do so?
I just wanted to migrate to another plugin that does it automatically but I just needed to know maybe you have that option too. Your plugin is actually better in many other ways and features.
]]>Hello.
I’m using Basil theme with Cooked (Pro) plugin for 5+ years and I’m really satisfied that plugin is now being maintained again. Thanks for this!
However, with recent plugin updates, I noticed and issue/conflict with recipes and default WordPress archive page.
My page for recipes list/archive correctly uses shortcode [cooked-browse]. However, instead of showing Cooked recipes list, as set in plugin settings, page displays WordPress default posts archive.
Looks like custom post type “recepti” (recipes) is treated as WP default post type.
If I create a new page with [cooked-browse] shortcode, then recipe archive is correctly displayed using Cooked plugin formatting. Unfortunatelly I cannot change recipes permalinks as this would affect my SEO.
This conflict is also present when trying to search for recipes – search results are returned as default WP post types, not as Cooked recipe post type.
Examples:
https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti/
https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti/?cooked_search_s=potica
Screenshots: https://i.postimg.cc/XJ3XkhQy/cooked-error-archives.jpg
Desired outcome:
Webpage https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti/, which is using [cooked-browse] shortcode, should display Cooked plugin formatted recipes archive, not WordPress post archive.
Let me know if you need any more info.
]]>Hello,
We need to be able to display shortvideos to the recipes pages, can you please check and let me know. As you can see here there is a test recipe https://foodstories.com.cy/recipes/test-recipe/
]]>I would like to know if I am able to use the Recipes Elements with elementor pro.
Let’s say I want to display the cooking time, servings icons to show on the teaser view of my recipe. is that somehow possible?
]]>Here on my website, when I am viewing the Recipes Main Category page, I can’t view the second page through pagination I get error.
Recipes second page appear when “Settings > Permalinks” set to “Plain” and it disappears when “Permalinks” set to “Post name”.?
]]>Hello,
Once again, great work with the many recent updates of this fabulous plugin which is going from strength to strength and thank you for adopting some of the ideas suggested previously.
I just updated to the latest Cooked Pro version, added API keys for the Edamam and calculated on our latest two recipes but the nutritional information is not showing on the recipes. Can you advise what I’m missing?
Thank you
]]>I’m encountering two issues
When adding steps in the instruction section, the steps appear disabled until the post is updated. This makes it difficult to manage the content.
Hyperlinks in “Notes section” with right-to-left (RTL) languages, such as Persian or Arabic, are problematic. Specifically, The RTL part of URLs are being removed when they include these languages. For example, if you try to link a word using the following URL: https://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%88%D8%B1%D8%AF%D9%BE%D8%B1%D8%B3
, the link will chenge to: https://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki””.
Hi,
with version 1.8.3 it is no longer possible to create or edit recipes.
The complete view has been moved! If you set it to a column under View under Layout, no data is visible.

Please fix this bug urgently!
]]>I used to use this plugin, but after the abandonment left it for another one. Now that this is alive again thanks to a great new developer, I wanna go back to it. But I need to know, do you have any plan to add bulk input for ingredients and steps in future updates?
Thanks in advance
]]>Hi @xjsv,
Thank you for the quick update. Unfortunately, a few new bugs have sneaked in.
As soon as you create a new recipe and switch to the preparation steps, the WYSIWYG editor is missing in the first step. This can be fixed by deleting the first step and adding a new step.
I have also noticed that all previously entered recipe steps can be lost when you save and you have to start again from the beginning. Sometimes, when adding a new step, the input field is overlaid and you can no longer type anything into it.

Hello how are you
First I was using your Cooked plugin but there were several problems this was of course a year or more ago…
My questions are
1 Is Cooked plugin back to life? Are there new updates and are you still updating Cooked?
2 How can I transfer recipes which are almost more than 300 from WP Delicious Pro to Cooked?
3 Can I transfer my recipes to Cooked without getting errors before deleting WP Delicious Pro?
I hope you respond quickly and that the response is clear because I am really talking about using your plugin. I am waiting for your response…
]]>My recipe is displaying twice and I don’t know why. How do I fix this?
Also, how do I change the size of the images eg. width, length, height? displayed on screen?
]]>Hi, Great job with version 1.8 and hands free mode..!
Would be appreciated if we could have a Note Section as well in recipe creation tabs
]]>Hi XjSv,
when creating recipes, the author selection no longer works correctly.
All users of the website are filtered. Previously, the selection could be restricted to the Recipe creator role.

Hi everyone,
since the last update of the plugin, it is no longer possible to format the recipe excerpt.
Previously, the text could be highlighted in bold or centered, for example. Now only the HTML code + text is displayed.
Is this problem already known?
]]>Hello,
We just updated to the latest version (we bought the pro). Can you tell us how the Hands Free mode should be working as we can’t see it in action?

]]>Hi everyone,
I’m thrilled to share some updates regarding the future of the Basil theme and Cooked/Cooked Pro plugins. After reaching out to the original author, we’ve come to an agreement to continue maintaining the original theme and plugin as an open-source project.
Here’s what you can expect:

This announcement heralds a new era for the Basil theme and Cooked plugins, as they will now be maintained as open-source projects, fostering community involvement and ensuring ongoing development and improvements.

]]>Hi,
Really glad to see the plugin is back ????. This can be the best recipe plugin out there.
Can you add an option to allow users rate a recipe without logging in or triggering the theme’s modal login form?
]]>Hi,
We have noticed that the servings size change is not changing the recipe quantities any more. Is this a known issue or unique to our setup? (running Cooked plugin Version 1.7.15.3?)
]]>The shortcode tag [cooked-browse] is having issues: it started showing html code on the front-end.
This is the link to the page where you can currently see the issue: yummyproof.com/recipes
Any advice on how to resolve this?

Does recipe category works with the updated version on github. As you can see many of us had this problem for almost 2 years now without any support. We keep paying for the plugin year after year hoping it would be fixed soon.

Hi everyone,
Many of you, like myself, have been using the Basil theme and Cooked/Cooked Pro plugin for a long time. Unfortunately, it appears the projects have been abandoned by the original developers, with no updates or support for over 2-3 years.
Additionally, I’ve discovered that the development company, Boxy Studio LLC, was terminated as of September 18, 2020, according to the Pennsylvania Department of State filings.
However, I come bearing good news! To ensure the continuity of these valuable tools and their continued evolution, I’ve forked the Basil, Cooked, and Cooked Pro plugins and will be releasing them as open-source projects under the names Fresh Basil, Well Cooked, and Well Cooked Pro.
Note
03/04/2024: The projects have not been published yet because I am waiting, for the last time, for a response from Boxy Studio LLC. I have sent them a “Notice of Intent to Fork and Release Cooked Pro as Open-Source Project” email. If they don’t respond within a week the projects will be published on Github.

Migration
As Fresh Basil, Well Cooked, and Well Cooked Pro are essentially new plugins due to the renaming process, they will need to be set up as you would with a newly installed theme or plugin. This is currently a challenge.
I plan to create a migration process to convert all the old Basil, Cooked, and Cooked Pro settings stored in the database into the new settings for Fresh Basil, Well Cooked, and Well Cooked Pro.
]]>Based on the comments here, and the fact that the “docs” page on the Cooked website has been broken for awhile, I assume this plugin is dead and will not be patched. I am hoping to fix whatever vulnerabilities I can. My licence has now expired, but I am hesitant to renew it again considering there is no support or future updates. Is the latest version of Cooked.Pro 1.7.5.7? Does it fix this issue? I will pay again to renew it get the new version, but I don’t want to pay and get the same version that I have now (which is 1.7.5.6).
]]>Consistently get warnings about this plugin having a cross-scripting vulnerability. I have Cooked Pro installed but cannot deactivate this plugin as Cooked Pro won’t work without it.
Can you please look into this. Details of vulnerability identified by Solid Security Basic (formerly WordFence) are as follows:

Hi, really love the plugin but there’s one feature I think could make it even better. These days lots of people have non-meat diets like vegan or pescatarian. It would be nice if you could make one recipe for multiple diets. I imagine it like tabs or buttons for each extra diet. When clicked they would change some ingredients in the list.
So for example I would make a Pho recipe using beef as the default recipe. I’d add a diet button for vegan and one for pesca. The vegan recipe would swap the beef for tofu and the beef stock for vegetable stock. The pesca button would swap the beef with shrimp and the stock with fish stock.
]]>Hello,
first your documentation is missing one of the most important features: there is no doc about the editing recipe feature. i searched in all three areas.
Second: i use the pro version and when i cklick in account>my recipes>button “edit recipe” it leads to the single recipe view but not to an editable site?
is tehre any config i have to set to get the editable version in the front face area?
thanks
