This is an extremely useful little plugin that not only makes it easier to provide admin access to outsiders but also to understand what actions they are taking and ensuring they don’t have access to anything you to which you would prefer to not provide access. The developer is also very friendly and accommodating. I’d write more if my kids weren’t screaming but you get the idea – it’s good stuff!

Finally i have a user with limit admin access!

Recently, I deleted a user using this plugin and it deleted all the content of that user.
It should ask whether to keep the content or not.

This plugin works fault free. Very good interface where you can deactivate access to particular areas of your word press for admin users, woocommerce or other plugins.

Sometimes we have to provide temporary admin access to developers of plugins to troubleshoot issues. This plugin best for the purpose.

There is some sort of strange bug with this plugin that conflicts with Avada. Certainly menus cause Avada to go into a Shortcode Updater routine which totally hosed my website and I had to restore from backup. I REALLY wanted to use this plugin but until this gets fixed, I’ll pass on another 2 hours of troubleshooting and restoring from backup.

Hi, thanks for this great plugin! I don’t usually leave reviews because I just like to give 5 stars or nothing. I try to not harm or damage developers work by leaving 1 review star and in this case you really desserve 5 stars!
I thought that It wouldn’t be possible to disallow access to woocommerce (settings, and products, etc) without paying, as all ridiculous plugins out there! This possibility for free is very powerful even for people just starting and struggling with an online business!
So, I said that it’s almost the perfect plugin on the title because it would be great if users can combine your plugin with different users roles. In this way we can be more specific about the access that we are trying to provide to an external developer.
But I’ll give you some ideas to really add worthwhile PRO features to your plugin to make you understand that it’s a really powerful tool in several ways!
1. Dashboard Templates Designs or the possibility to create an specific design for every user. Editing logo, colors, menus, etc. Because, giving access to the backend and dashboard of wordpress isn’t just for developers, but for all kind of users and uses. For example, employees, writers, editors, sales agents, managers, designers, etc.
2. You can also create designed templates (and functionalities) of differents types of workers for example for: blogs, social networks, co-workers sites, teaching or learning sites, ecommerces sites, retails, etc and sell them.
3. And this last option rocks! You should add the possibility for the Admin Master to monitor the activity of the other “admin” users. What pages, links, or tools are they watching or working on. How much time are they passing working on those pages. How many clicks, writing, modifications, etc are they doing… how much code are they injecting on the site.. etc, etc..
Your plugin could be very powerful, but as I always recommend to the others developers, the basic and essentials features related to the main objective of your plugin should always be free. As the woocommerce features.
Have a great day!
Regards,

Controlled Admin Access is an excellent plugin. Just keep in mind that the access you need to provide is still controlled by WP user controls.
Ex: CF7 forms need admin access by WP. If the new user is not given admin access at WP level, the Controlled Admin Access can not provide the access.
Have tried with different WP and CAS levels and found this behaviour. Nevertheless, the controls are very good and useful. Flip side “could be” a WP admin access has to be given and CAS filters access.

This is exactly what I needed. Certain users can only make one specific change and that is it. No wandering off the path into the thicket. Thanks!

If you manage website security & maintenance, you’ve probably had your share of “just set me up with an admin account” requests from people you aren’t sure need admin access…For that reason alone, this plugin is brilliant!
There’s a TON of control over permissions that you just can’t get with OOB WordPress, and it’s super easy to use.

I think I know why “supervinnie40” rated this plugin as 1 star. It’s because he DIDN’T READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!
You have to SELECT which area you DON’T want someone accessing. It works perfectly fine.
I test a bunch of plugins, including user role editor (that was good, but didn’t do what this plugin was able to do) and members, again, didn’t do what this plugin did.
EXCELLENT PLUGIN, WORKS PERFECTLY FINE….LOVE IT!!!

This plugin is promoted as a way to create temp logins that can be restricted. I use it as a permanent solution for staff logins. We have a calendar plugin that requires admin credentials so I must give the staff admin privileges to use the calendar. With this plugin, I can restrict access to all areas of WordPress and still maintain admin status for the staff. A perfect solution and indispensable. The alternative would be to mess around with roles and set permissions. Things can easily go wrong when doing that. Also, every time we install a new plugin it’s easy to just tick it in Controlled Admin Access and have it excluded from the staff. Very nicely crafted and excellent support. Highly recommended!

I am always scared to death to give anyone admin access to my WP account. I was even hesitant to give that access to my WP support team, but of course it was necessary. Lately, I have had more and more people requesting admin access, which in most cases is necessary if I wanted to utilize their services. So I happened upon this plugin and quickly installed it and its great. I am also able to switch access to those limited users to ensure they can only see what I allowed them to see. I feel so much better about providing admin access now because I can narrow it down only to specific areas needed. The only con right now is that the plugin features do not apply to existing users. So you have to delete any existing users and recreate their user accounts under the controlled admin access area. But this is a minor issue compared to the peace of mind this plugin brings.

Not necessary create multi admin system, just clicking menuns or submenus.
Select the dashboard pages which the user is NOT ALLOWED to visit.
Love them.

I needed to give the client access to their backend so they could add some content/make some changes before the project was done. However, the built-in editor in WordPress did not give the client access to some plugins features. With this plugin, I can completely lock down the site to the parts the client needs. Without having to worry about them installing a backup plugin or something before the final payment.

I needed to allow Admin Access to a client’s social media consultant to set up & manage the Pixel Caffeine plugin. I was delighted to find this, it’s easy to install and set up and does just what is says it will. I am using it with the Divi theme, WooCommerce and a number of other plugins, no conflicts or other problems identified so far. The only potential issue is that I don’t seem to be able to restrict access to the WordPress Updates page (/update-core.php). Apart from that, perfect – thanks WPRuby ??

I needed to give a newly created user role admin access to the Users menu group on the dashboard, & nothing else – this enabled me to do it. Thank you!
