I didn’t try lightbox, but simple colorbox worked first try. It’s simple, but it is exactly what I needed.

didn’t work with lightbox plus plugin

I already use lightbox plus and contact form. And this solves the problem with the response message position.

I’ve made this for my use and put it here for everyone to use it if they need it.

This plugin is straight forward. Is made only with javascript and uses colorbox library, checks if an ajax is recieved then gets the message object and moves it into a colorbox popup.

If colorbox is not working this plugin won’t work sorry. So make sure Lighbox Plus is properly installed.

I have installed and activated all plugins required but the messgaes still come up at the bottom of the form not in a pop up

Until now with the contact form i’ve been using i had always to fix the way the response message is displayed. This plug-in solved my problem faster and easier than i expected, when i installed it i was in a hurry and i was afraid that i have to tweak the CSS or learn how to use or set it up, is not the case, it’s straightforward.
