How to link directly to a category?
Clicking on View in list of categories in admin, shows page not found.
I have this message when I activate the plugin and am unsure what the implications are!

]]>Just changed Theme on my site on a staging enviro – not sure when Connections disappeared from left side bar. Updated site now live, but no Connections link in sidebar. Tried deactivating/reactivating plug in on staging site, no change. If I go to Settings from Plug In page, it says “You are not allowed to access this page.” I have admin user level.
Connections is functioning normally on site – just can’t get into manage data.

For several months now, the entries have not been displayed up to date.
However, everything is up to date in the administration area.
Entries are only displayed up to date when a user (administrator in this case) is logged in.

I’m a new user of the ‘connections’ plugin and not very experienced with wp. I have installed ‘members’.
Each user has a wordpress profile ‘author’. I’ve restricted the rights so that this user only has access to ‘connections’. So far so good.
Now I want to prevent him from modifying the ‘connections’ files of other users. How can I do this?

]]>I just loaded the Connections plugin and I am trying to use it for a basic Phone Book. My entries are first name, last name, phone #1, phone #2, lot#. I would like to display to be one line; lot, first name, last name, phone #1 phone#2.
I thought I could edit the Default Entry Card 3.0 by?Steven A. Zahm template to accomplish this, but the customizer never loads. I am running WordPress at the latest level. Assuming I get this to work I am going to need to import 1500-2000 entries it is looks like I can purchase that option. I will also need to be able to print the entire directory.

]]>We would like to display our Featured Businesses at the top of the page in a Carousel, then have the full Business Directory below that. All is good, getting it set up, but then we discovered that while clicking a listing in the full directory will open the single listing page, the Carousel does not. The only options we seem to have are to link the Carousel to the image, the logo, or nothing.
Isn’t there some way that people can get to the business listing page from the carousel? We do not want to link them out to their respective pages, and linking to nothing has frustrated every one of our testers (new site launching in a week).

Connections is easily the best option I can see.
Looking at your templates the Cmap template is the best fit.
I have one question – is it possible to add a short description to be displayed on the entry card itself?
On your sample website
Looking at the first entry – the text would go between the picture and the show more info link
Just a few words to explain what the organisation is about.
I would be able to add necessary coding if you could explain what I would need to do.
Or would one of your plugins help?

]]>We are using the Widget in the sidebar to list the categories within Connections.
It seems to have stopped working and that may be from when we updated WordPress but I am not certain that is the case.
The widget appears but no categories are listed – its just an empty list with the heading.

This will output, on the page/post, a link to the WP User’s Connections Entry detail/profile page.
The link itself will be in the following format:

I used this format and it worked without any issues until recently.
We now have two directory pages — one directory page shows all of our categories, except one category; and the other directory page only shows the excepted category from the first page. It works well, except the URL (link) no longer works.
I’ve tried to create two separate URLs for each directory page for our users to link from and it doesn’t work either. Here’s what I tried: https://example.com/directory-page/cat/name/entry-slug This link will take me only as far as the directory / category page (without showing the user the actual member’s profile.
How can I fix this?

I can’t modify or create entries anymore in Connections. If I try to modify or create an entry, I get an error message:
Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access this resource.
It seems I can delete entries though, it’s the only thing I can do.
Of course I’m using the administrator’s account, so I should have all the required permissions.
It used to work perfectly before, and I don’t think I’ve modified anything lately.
Both WordPress and Connections are up to date (WordPress 6.6.2 & Connections 10.4.65)
I haven’t noticed any other errors with my other plugins.

]]>Suddenly the Connections Business Directory plugin stopped working, showing a critical error. I also have Connections Slim Plus Plugin but I noticed that this had to be deactivated as it caused all the website to stop for a critical error. Is there any conflict between the two plugins and the most recent WP? How can I explore the issue?

]]>I have a section in my directory that I wish to display on a different page. I have successfully excluded that section from the main directory, but I am struggling to get it to display properly on its own page.
The shortcode [connections category_in=’18’] doesn’t work (the entire directory still shows). I have therefore excluded everything I don’t want (a bit tedious and also means I have to remember if I add another category!).
Am I doing something wrong, please?
]]>My clients’ old website is using Connections, but seems to be an older version, so I don’t know if if that has anything to do with this issue. I’m trying to import the old database into the new website.
I exported the database from the old site (RandolphChamber.org) and looked at the CSV file. I appear to have all of the information I need. But when I try to import it into the new site (RandolphChamber.xyz), I’m not presented with the same categories. Unless I’m just not understanding this correctly, I was expecting the same category titles. Can you shed some light onto what I might be doing wrong?

This is the code I’m using to try and make the tiles wider on my page. They appear to have gotten taller, but they don’t want to get any wider. (I only have a few entries at the moment.)
