When I enable the plugin on my site I go in and I put in my zip code as the origin, but when I checkout I am getting the wrong price displayed. It should be $10+ but I am getting $22+.
1 pound 8 ounces from zip code 56377 to 05038 was my test.
This plugin is out of BETA, and has been renamed to WooCommerce Services.
Please download the new version here.
First of all, this plugin really is promising! We’re putting it into our main website already as it seems to do mostly what we want.
I saw a response elsewhere that the store origin location is only saved after the first successful label purchase. It’s understandable that it should be verified by USPS first. But, why not give the option to put this in the profile with a button to VERIFY ADDRESS and then it is all done without confusing everyone and having them wonder why their first label purchase does not recognize the origin address.
When the module auto selects boxes based on items purchased, it is WAAAAY off. We put in the products dimensions and weights and the boxes it recommends are sometimes extremely large when a smaller box would work and sometimes chooses 2 boxes when 1 larger will work. I understand the disclaimer that it may not select the right box, but keeping it in the ballpark without wandering out in the parking lot would be more helpful. ??
Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving what this module is doing, but we need more support on fine tuning the automatic box selection based on products dimension/sizes and what boxes they will actually fit in.
Another issue is that although we had flat rate boxes and options enabled, in the shopping cart, flat rate never comes up as an option – just priority or others.
The
element of the plugin’s landing page says it’s in Alpha while the plugin here says Beta. It would be nice to have that worked out?
Is there any sense of how close this is to a full (or at least RC) launch?
I’m playing around with this plugin and wanted to disconnect my WP.com account from Connect. I’ve poked around quite a bit in the interface, looked on WP.com, and deleted the plugin, all to no avail. Is there any way to do this?
Hi:
Your team shared with me the WooCommerce Connect plug in and it seems that it is pretty good and close to addressing the issue I was looking to solve – which was to be able to print out shipping labels. A few items I have observed which need to be addressed:
Origin Address – Every time I went into a product view and clicked on the “Print Shipping Label” button, I had to re-input the “origin address”. There should be a feature/function where I can save the “origin address” so that I don’t have to input this every time, as that has already gotten old. Same thing for paper size. Give the settings option to select a default and then enable the drop down to be changed in the interface if needed.
Rates – The rates for the shipping label just hangs in spinning mode (aka spinning beachball of death) when both addresses are put in. Is this because there is no Credit Card input on WordPress.com? There needs to be some sort of messaging or indication what the issue may be as to why the pricing is not generating. also, it may be good to generate the pricing anyway and then provide the link to input a credit card to complete the transaction.
Shipping Label Button On Orders View – There should be a “Generate Shipping Label” icon/button on the Actions column on the main “Orders” page…that way, I can generate the shipping label for that order without having to click through to the order page itself.
Thanks
Stephen
We want to be able to pay for the postage and print the labels for domestic using this. We haven’t launched our site (another couple months) and are doing test transactions. Most of our orders will be “Free Shipping” and then we want to pay for them with USPS postage and print the labels. We put in a test order, I click on “Edit Order” in the dashboard and then “Create Label” and the addresses are fine but it will not let me select a rate under the “Choose Rate” drop-down (none are listed) and then we receive the following error:
Error: The Connect for WooCommerce server returned: Bad Request child “packages” fails because [“packages” at position 0 does not match any of the allowed types] ( 400 )
Is there any documentation on this? or what are we doing wrong?
