I do however have a small request. Is there a way to add a recurring event please? We run a charity and would like to let the community members know that the youth club for children runs every Friday evening.

]]>I would like to have a fresh version of the plugin. I’ve tried deactivating, uninstalling, and reinstalling… but even with the new installation (done both automatically and manually on the server), all of the settings and labels I had created are still there.
Is there a way to “reset” the plugin? After uninstalling the plugin, I saw that the tables still existed in the database, so I removed those thinking that would help. Now, if I reinstall the plugin, those tables are not recreated, even though the code says to create them if they don’t exist. If I create the tables that are needed, with the fields and field types needed, they do not get updated if I try to add an event.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi. This is a great plug-in and could almost be prefect for my needs IF (by request) I could ask for a couple of changes/alterations to suit me needs.
1)I would like to remove ticket option and replace with just a price field (no buying or payment options needed) display price only.
2) Description box made bigger/larger and viewable on new page.
3) A couple of word changes in the add events page.
4) (in-line with (2) ) the title in the calender click-able to open new page to view that events details.
This would mean only the title is displayed on the calender.
Please let me know.

the calendar to pick up dates and all dates throw the plugin are shown in english with format mm/dd/yyyy.
Is it possible to change it?

I need to display the Events RSS feed.
I found the URL (…/feed/communityeventsfeed), but the feed is empty : in a browser or in a RSS widget, it’s always empty.
I tried to edit the feed name and description, and it works perfectly.
Is there an option to check on events to display them on the rss feed ?
Or anything else I missed ? ??

A widget of the upcoming events would be great. I saw your answer you posted 3 years ago about the “Allow Shortcodes in Text Widgets”. But it needs a massive works of customization when you only need a list of upcoming events.

]]>I found some tutorial, saying that plugin-templates can be overwritten with copys in the “yourtheme” folder, but couldn’t set up any structure that makes the community-events.php overwritable. Don’t wanna hardcode inside the plugin. Even couldn’t setup the folderstructure for templates successfully.
What is the needed folderstructure in “mytheme” to customize community events files?
Please show up where to put templates and where (if possible) to put community-events.php

i like to say thank you for this great plugin.
I’m running community events plugin with a front end for subscribed users in my Childtheme. Themain Goal is, to get a view with “24h selects”, but whatever i tried … i couldn’t manage it.
First of all, timeformat is setup right. Inside Dashboard the form to add a new Event shows up totally correct (24h format, no am/pm select). In frontend I still got the options looking like “12h format, select am/pm”
1. Question:
1. Could it be done by simply cloning the form inside Dashboard to a page? Is this a good choice?
If yes, let me know how to do this. If not, i would go further by thinking of changing the form selects with jquery:
1. customize the certain form inside my childtheme
2. create new select-options with 24 hours mode
3. make the original “event_start_ampm” and “event_end_ampm” <select style="visiblity:hidden">
4. pass the 24h selection onchange correctly to the original (now hidden) “event_start_ampm”/”event_end_ampm” option-values via jquery
A whole lotta text and thoughts, but… Please help me finding a solution.

]]>When there is an apostrophe in the description, the plugin accepts the submission without complaint but the event never is recorded.
I have not tested other fields but I’m guessing they share a similar flaw.

]]>I’m using the Thesis 1.8 theme and I’m always on the lookout for a decent event plugin that allows users to submit. Right now I’m using the Event-O-Matic plugin that is almost there for me, but I still like to test out others as I find them.
Hope you don’t mind answering a few questions. By the way, whether I keep using this or not, thanks for making it available to everyone. ??
-I uncheck “Wait for validation” and hit save, but when I return to the settings page, it’s checked again and submissions still require approval. Any idea why this might be happening?
-Is there a widget in the works? I thought it might be nice to have the 7 day in the sidebar, but a link to the full schedule in the main navigation menu.
-Do you know what I’d have to do to the included stylesheet to make it look like your screenshots on wordpress? My submit/add event buttons looks like a gray text field, default look I suppose.
-Is it possible to have an event that is an all day event that does not require times?
-Can I remove form fields from the front end form without affecting the plugin otherwise? (event category, venue label, dates, purchase tickets, etc,)

I just installed CE and like it very much. But when i try to modify the stylesheet of the “add ne event” page, it won′t work. The main problem is, that I use an theme with 2 columns (navigation is on the right one). The width of the add-event page is to large and when i change the percent or px in the css I can′t see a change.
]]>I have installed Community Events and have added some events. While other RSS feeds on my site are working, Community Events is not.
There is a section in the settings for Community Events. Perhaps I have not configured this properly but there isn’t any documentation for doing this.

]]>If you are entering an event in the admin section and something goes wrong while saving, there is no feedback except “new event inserted”, which is not what happened.
It is unclear which fields are mandatory, if a mandatory field is left blank, the event is not saved, again with the above erroneous message.
