I’m using Column-Matic and my columns are nice – as advertized – on desktop width screens. However on smart phones the columns overlap and get unreadably narrow. How can I just get them to just stack at some point?
The WP site (my first) is on localhost. I haven’t been successful in FTPing it correctly yet so I hope I can still get some advice on this question.

]]>Using Weaver Extreme theme, running 1240ox wide with 3 columns on PC screen. My #1 priority is that it works right on smart phones. But if I set column width in pixels, the column truncates on the left when the display is narrower than the specified column width.

Setting column width gets worse if I specify the width in %, I just get separate columns that are absurdly narrow.

Not quite what I expected – each column takes the full page width and essentially becomes two rows.
Should this be inserted someplace else? (yea, I know what you’re thinking – be nice!)

I want to have two columns on my website. I have read the documentation and related topics, but I don’t understand how to implement it. What code defines the number of columns? Where do I insert the code? When it comes to program codes, I’m a complete dummy.

Hi. Love your plugin, but I have this annoying large space between [end_columns] and new set of columns. I read documentation and FAQ, but nothing there solved my problem.

The plugin is breaking some my css when viewed on windows firefox (not mac firefox) and ie. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone fixed this problem? I’m tweaking the layout of the page before I add all the data, and am using W3 Total Cache. Clearing the cache after every worked to fix it in Safari and Chrome, but not in the above mentioned browsers.

ok just installed your plugin, but can’t get percentage % width working. Want responsive columns. I thought it must be my theme, so I created a fresh wordpress 3.8 installation, and your plugin, and get same problem – so your plugin must need an update. The code I used is your demo code from your documentation:

I have found your plugin very easy to use and I can see it being very useful so thank you for providing it.
One thing that is missing is embedded columns i.e. being able to set up columns within a previously set column e.g.

[column 5] Yet more[/column]

It doesn’t work at present as I imagine a [start_columns] would probably be required.

]]>You have an add_filter(‘the_content’, ‘wpautop’, 20) call in your code which does not play nicely with (and in my case wreaks havoc) with other shortcodes. Basically, it’s adding
tags to our custom shortcode functions’ raw output. Why do you need this exactly? For my custom shortcodes I’ve had to add a canceling remove_filter call to negate it. I propose you remove the call from your code.
I’m getting this error throughout both the front end and control panel when I have debugging turned on. Doesn’t seem to affect the functionality, but figured I’d share just in case.

When widths are defined in pixels, when the browser window gets to a certain width then column two jumps to being vertically below column one.
This is good for mobiles obviously but does not work if your columns are defined in percentages, is there a way to make this happen when that is the case?

Column-Matic plugin conflicts with NexGen Gallery 2.0 Interestingly, only pages where Column-Matic shortcode is NOT used are broken. Thumblails are not displayed, only the code is visible instead.

/>Great plugin! Just been using it for text columns and now have a minor issue.
I tried adding small thumbnail images to each of my 4 text columns, got them to work. Images are the same size, and fill the area width perfectly. But the corresponding text that goes with each image will only display at the left. I want to CENTER the text under each image. Simple right?

I am using column-matic to set the columns and everything is OK except that the left column is higher on the page than the center and right columns (which are aligned, slightly lower than the left column).

]]>I’ve installed and activated Column-Matic. I cut and pasted the codes from your documentation. I’ve ended up with two columns, but they aren’t parallel. That is, one columns goes all the way down, then the next column moves over to the right, but begins below the first one. They aren’t side by side, but one under the other.
I defined the columns in the CSS using cut and paste from your examples. I’ve checked, and I have the [/column] in place.
Any ideas?

i’m sort of new to using shortcodes and wonder if 2 different plugins that use shortcodes would conflict with each other. when i deactivate Column-Matic, my slideshow works.

I had successfully completed entering the content all three columns without incident. Upon final inspection I was in the process of making small pixel adjustments to line up the horizontal bars, when instability developed scrambling the right column. I deleted and have attempted to reconstruct it by copying the saved HTML code line by line in an effort to find the problem. The current status can be seen at:
