]]>For some time now, I’m using the CSL plugin to support my translation efforts.
It works so fine, I like to promote it to others as well.
Unfortunately, it looks like the plugin has been cancelled as it cannot be found in the repository any more.
Any idea on the status of CSL?

]]>Hi admin,
I have already gettext, Codestyling Localization, now installed CodeStyling Localization Preserver. I work on theme Petsitter WP.
I want to translate some words and phrases in Bulgarian language / Cyrillic /, but they do not translate on the site.
I think I’m doing things right:
1. Choose BG language
2. Do RESCAN
3. Choose EDIT
4. Do the translation of the word
5. Generate MO file
6. Finally – absolutely nothing changes …
Where I`m wrong ? Any idea ?
Thank you

]]>Hi there,
I installed this plug-in, but it does not show up!
I do not get the ‘Localization’ option in my dashboard.
Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks in advance!

]]>First of all a suggestion: Any form of introduction to the plugin. I installed it, and then nothing.
That’s why I’m here.
I have absolutely no idea what to do.
I have a multilanguage site, and the theme is not translated.
I use Polylang, and their support refers to this plugin.
What do I do?

]]>Sorry, but Your CodeStyling Localization Preserver doesn’t work properly.
After update my theme, original .po and .mo files are deleted from the languages folder of theme. Yes, plugin preserves the files in wp-content/languages. But WordPress DOESN’T read translation from wp-content / languages. It just does not work. So I have to manually copy translations from wp-content / languages into languages folder of theme. What can I do to make it work automatically and I do not have to do it manually?

]]>Hi
I have the exact same problem as the person who posted this post:
If Preserver is enabled the CSL can’t create .mo files
When the preserver was enabled, whenever I would click “generate mo-file” it would try to created it, but then the file wouldn’t be updated. To test it further I deleted the existing .MO file. The CSL interface then said “unknown” for the .MO file date. I then clicked “generate mo-file” again and it looked like it was creating a file (the little progress bar on the page was moving), but then it would finish and no file would be created. No error messages appeared, but the mo-file “last written” date was still “unknown”.
I disabled Preserver and then clicked “generate mo-file” again and it successfully generated a mo-file.
When I re-enabled Preserver it no longer copies the files to the correct location. (When I first enabled Preserver it copied them to the right location, but it doesn’t do it at all now).
I have checked the permissions on the /wp-content/languages/ folder – it is 755, same as the other folders in there.
I’m using the latest versions of CSL and Preserver – both installed today.

]]>Hi,
I don’t get how this works
What do CSL and what do CSLPreserver?
Is this correct?:
CSL:
– allow user to create po and mo files or edit them if included in plugin
– mo and po files are stored in the plugin’s directory
– when updating, po and mo files are lost (or replace by default po and mo if included)
CSLP:
– Automatically save po and mo in wp-content/languages/plugin directory
But what happens when the plugin is updated?
– what if po and mo ARE NOT included in the plugin
– what if po and mo ARE included in the plugin
Moreover, you have plugin that have a specific behaviour:
for example :
wp job manager :
If the plugin supports it (WP Job Manager 1.18.1 does, and so do the latest add-ons) you can put your po and mo files in the WP_LANG directory which will keep them safe from updates. This is usually the wp-content/languages/ directory.
or woocommerce :
If you keep your custom translations in woocommerce/i18n/languages (WooCommerce < 2.2+) they can be lost when upgrading. To make them upgrade safe, instead place them in wp-content/languages/woocommerce/. All translations will be automatically added to wp-content/languages/woocommerce/ with WooCommerce 2.2+.
Don’t know how things work with all that features!
Some explanation would be appreciated!

]]>Hi — I’m getting the error below:
CodeStyling Localization Preserver plugin could not write to: /var/www/topspeedtennis.com/wp-content/languages/plugins/
I noticed that the “plugins” folder doesn’t exist in the languages folder on my setup.
Do I need to create that? Or is something else going on?
Thanks,
Josh

]]>Hi!
I installed both CSL and CSL Preserver with the Commons In A Box (CBOX) child theme. CSL alone works very well, but if Preserver is enabled the CSL can’t create .mo files.

to continue translation? Is it possible to set original Codestyling Localization plugin to search in this directory first? Or automatically copy these files from wp-content/languages
back to theme directory for this plugin? Any idea? Thank you for your help!
