First off, allow me to say that I LOVE this plugin – well done!
I want to use it to display code snips on a website and allow users to copy them as needed.
Setting up some snippets and using them in a post has been easy, but however when I am viewing the web page, the bar at the top of the snip content is not displaying. Of course this means that I am not seeing the copy or full screen buttons either.
FWIW, I am running the plugin on a local VM right now for testing with WAMP as the server. I am also running the standard Twenty Seventeen theme (this was a fresh install of WordPress).
If I visit your website and look at your examples here:
https://dsgnwrks.pro/tools/twitterwp-a-wordpress-tool-to-get-you-connected-to-the-twitter-1-1-api/
then I see the toolbar when I mouse over the code snip as expected.
But when testing from localhost, I do not see it.
I have confirmed that the filters for the buttons are NOT disabled (it is the default install, but I checked anyway).
Is this just a case of the buttons and toolbar not going to work until I publish to a live site?
Thanks in advance for the help!
]]>Hi,
Firstly snippet cbt is a first rate plugin in my. I have used it to enable people to extract code from my website and it works brilliantly. Lately rather than code I wanted to display snippets that provide terminal window instructions such as sudo apt-get some package. When the snippet displays on my site certain words change color such as the -get is a differnt color to the apt. Is there a way to ensure that the snippet displays in white (DARK BACKGROUND). I have tried various themes and types but cannot stop the appearance of colours changing randomly.
Kind Regards
Anwar
When I make a snippet inside a post, then make another snippet, then the first and the second snippet all get fucked up.
]]>I really like this plugin but a couple of issues found.
Selecting a front end template or snippet style only displays properly when I’m logged in as the admin. Otherwise snippets in a post are a light silver color and the toggle bar is visually blank though functions exist.
After installing this plugin Yoast SEO added sitemaps for it, but the urls return 404s. Ive since disabled the sitemaps in Yoast so that’s not a problem.
Otherwise this plugin adds the functionality i needed.
]]>When you render the page list it is not very pleasant see https://jenolan.org/code-snippets/ it says ‘Archive’ rather than something like ‘Code Snippets’ is it something simple to make nicer?
Thanks,
Larry
Hi There,
A few days ago Google Search Console started flagging up the code snippets as 404 Errors. This is strange because
– Snippets aren’t pages
– Snippets are not linked to directly
– Therefore Google shouldn’t in theory be able to get to them.
Now being an SEO I can block and disallow these URLs, but maybe if you could take a look at the plugin itself and see why this may have occurred please?
The site in question currently has over 150 snippets and that’s only going to increase over time. An example URL Google is flagging as Not Found is
https://resource-centre.net/code-snippets/reversed-order/?code-snippets=180c9ad2cc&id=602
Oh and I don’t want these URLs in the SERPs as nearly all of them are available from pages that embed them.
Hope you can help – and thanks for your assistance on previous posts!
Kindest regards,
Martin
]]>I love your plugin and had no problem working with it in the past on a single wordpress site.
However, now I’m tyring it in a sub-site of a multipress site and when I publish a snippet and try to view the snippet’s URL, I get a “page not found” error: https://commons.pratt.edu/make-games/code-snippets/test/
But when I view the same snippet without the page-title permalink structure, I can see it: https://commons.pratt.edu/make-games/?code-snippets=unity-camera-move/
I’m not sure if the problem is with my multisite’s permalink structure, or something else, but is there a way I can publish and view my snippets either with the blog-title permalink or with ?code-snippets= structure?
I’d appreciate any help our guidance you could offer. Thanks.
]]>Heya,
I’ve just started a new set of code snippets of JavaScript but I have found that the new lines are not retained, even on new HTML Code Snippets.
There are no errors in Developer Console (Google Chrome) so I can’t see the cause.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Martin Oxby

Heya there,
Loving your code snippets plugin which I’m using on a coding tutorial website.
I am also using HTML Editor Syntax Highlighter to turn the ‘text’ tab into a code editor.
When I am using ‘visual’ tab, inserting one of your snippets works fine. But when I’m using the ‘text’ tab the short code is not put in.
Would it be possible for you to test this and see if a fix is possible?
Many thanks,
Martin Oxby
Site I’m using your plugin on: resource-centre.net
I really dislike the visual editor, and one of the first things I do is disable it from the user panel. But when I installed your plugin, it reactivated the VE even though I had it disabled. Please don’t do that.
]]>Wanted to test the plugin.
Installed as usual.
Install failed. Error message Plugin header not valid.
Edited /code-snippets-cpt/dsgnwrks-code-snippets-cpt.php
and changed the plugin name in the header:
from dsgnwrks Code Snippets CPT
to Code Snippets CPT
and all worked fine after that.
Thank you to correct this.
