]]>Hello there. I’m just trialling out CM On Demand Search And Replace and I’ve just installed it. I quickly noticed the following-
This plugin and replacment tules does not change the content on the database. Instead it changes the content right before it is displayed.
Am I misunderstanding something or is this only a limitation on the free version? Surely if it does not change the database then there are 2 serious consequences. Firstly it means you can never remove the plug-in or all your changes will be lost, and secondly it has to add extra processing work to your website?
Is there no option to make the changes permanent in the database once you are happy with them?

]]>I work at a college. We have multiple departments. Currently we are having a high turn over. For example, our HR department(30 pages), I have had to replace names and email with the new employees.
It is unbelievable to me that you can not search and replace on just a department and not the whole site. It is so cumbersome to go one page at a time replacing. Sometime the name and email are on a page more than once. It takes forever.
I have already taken a lot of time replacing.
Also our college renames departments every so often.
I was told to never search and replace on the whole site.
Would it be possible to change one shortcode into another shortcode in all posts? The search/replace function would just need to take the name of the video from the first shortcode and insert that name into the second shortcode in two places.
This is how the shortcodes look like:
FIRST SHORTCODE:

[flv:https://www.myblog.com/wp-content/videos/name_of_video.mp4 500 375]This is the older Flash video shortcode in its two variants. Actually it’s the same shortcode, but the video file can be either a .flv or .mp4 file, so to the search function it would perhaps look like two shortcodes. Both of them should be converted into the second shortcode, which exists only in one variant (for mp4 files).
THE SECOND SHORTCODE:
[fvplayer src='https://www.myblog.com/wp-content/videos/name_of_video.mp4' splash=https://www.myblog.com/wp-content/videos/name_of_video.jpg splashend=show width=550 height=309]
So, essentially the only string from the first shortcode that needs to be inserted into the second shortcode is the name of the video file (and to change that name from something.flv into something.mp4, if necessary).
This name of the video file is usually a shorter string that contains an underscore character. For example: joe_trailer1.mp4 or janet_trailer5.flv.
I used an older video flash plugin to show flv and mp4 videos on my blog (as flash videos) for several years before I switched to a newer video plugin which displays videos using the HTML5 technology.
Since Adobe has recently discontinued all support for their Flash plugin, and most browsers don’t display flash videos anymore, I suddenly got a significant number of posts on my blog that have the embedded flash player which virtually nobody can watch anymore.
So, it would be fantastic if this search/replace job is possible to accomplish with your plugin. Needless to say, I can then avoid doing this manually, and save a lot of time and effort. If it is possible, I would be extremely thankful if you could write the exact codes that I need to put into the plugin.

]]>Hello! I simply need to change some copy on the website but the copy includes the domain name.
Example:
website is domain.com
Copy change is domain > domain xyz ( not .com)
So I can’t do a search and replace as the replacement copy will break the URLs. Is it possible to do just the page copy with your plugin?

Honestly, this is a great plugin, somehow it is conflicting with Elementor while installed. Page layout issue. Could you please investigate and look into that issue?
]]>About half of the links work and about half give a Page Not Found error. The very first link inserts an extra domain name after the page name like this: https://wordpresswebsitecreation.com/wordpress-faq/wordpresswebsitecreation.com/wordpress-faq-2/#whois. That page cannot be found.
The fifth link opens up to https://wordpresswebsitecreation.com/wordpress-faq-2/#domain. It works perfectly.
Please tell me how to fix this problem.

Put in the existing String (what text exists now)under replacement Rules and enter the string “what I want it changed to”
Then click “Update” and nothing is changed?
