After installing the plugin it was very unresponsive on mobile, I had layout issues, pages overflowing outside the viewport width. Other than that it just has a very outdated look to it, which isn’t shown on the CM website. The plugin looks like a site from the mid 2000s.
I requested help multiple times from their support, to which they just respond with links to their documentation with no reference, and half the time the link they send doesn’t even answer your query.
After having a painful week back and forth with their support I asked for a refund as I had to seek another plugin that actually did as asked.
They refused a refund, unsurprisingly once I asked for my money back they were very quick to respond telling me why I couldn’t get my money back. They wanted me to reinstall the plugin so they could address the issues I had brought to their attention a week before, absolutely laughable.

Do not buy any plugins from Creative Minds. Their plugins do not do what they claim and require you to download and install no less than 3-4 add-on plugins to get the functionality it should have out of the box. Plus once you have the now 4-5 plugins installed you will find it is missing one or more basic features that it really should have. For this particular plugin just trying to customize the user front end was impossible and after several emails to support I was told they would do it for me at a rate of $60 per hours and a minimum of 12 hours. There are always better options for less out there so please do your research before purchasing anything from Creative Minds. Oh and there is no demo or trial period so again do not waste your money because they will fight you for a refund when you realize they lied and their plugin isn’t capable of doing what you expected without hours of additional customization by their ridiculously slow “experts”.

I’m sure I’ll be labelled as unreasonable in this review by CMinds.
All it is is a warning to potential users that they have no intention of honouring their money-back promise. Read their T&Cs VERY carefully.
CMinds goes to all lengths to prevent you from being refunded for a product that does not live up to my expectations.
Their attempt at ‘support’ is pitiful, and dismissive.

I found this plugin and loved the fact that you can divide downloads into categories and the simple design. It was all i needed actually. Sadly the original design was over the whole page. And because i have a sidebar on my site the download section wasnt visible.
But! I contacted the creators via the support forum and explained my problem. A tiny bit later they had the option to choose yourself where the download button will appear. So my problem was solved and now i can use the plugin!

I purchased the Pro version and have it customized with some “Customized Hours” from Creative Mind (to have a tailor-made design that fit perfectly with my client’s request), and I’ve been delighted with the result!
The website is now online (I prefer post a review when the website is finish to avoid getting a first, wrong impression; as it’s too often the case) and counts now 133 documents (and still growing).
Both my client and I are very satisfied with the result: no glitch, fast loading, effective query,responsive design… The support team and the sell team happened to be very reactive and effective as well (and on time!).
Some may say that some functions are confusing (e.g. the menu, the interface) but I believe that each plugin has its own very way of working, and when you get to understand this one, it will just do all what you expect it to!
I surely recommend this plugin for anyone who wish to have a Searchable Database, or an Online Library (you name it as you want); the balance price/quality is more than fair.
PS: I am a web-designer, not a web-developer, so the simplicity and the effectiveness of a plugin is crucial for me (please, spare me the coding!). I have this plugin customized, but I believe the Pro version would work just as well out of the box.

The plugin has potential but it needs some improvements, such as the ability to add documents directly from the media manager.
The support website does not function properly, that is a caution that the plugin may not be very well supported either.

For the parts that work, it’s a decent download manager, but it’s truly a bad sign when the contact phone number on their website is actually disconnected. That’s right – the phone number is no longer in service!
As for their email support (for the paid version, by the way), there was a formatting issue with their “CM Download List” widget that displayed each item side by side with no break in between. After asking me for a link so they could see the issue on my site, the response was “This is too small place for this shortcode…“. Seriously? The support engineer apparently does not know the difference between a shortcode and a widget, nor have any concept of responsive design.

I was really impressed how quickly the support team gave me a hand to fix stuff. I am a designer, so sometime my requests are very fussy. However the support team made all of my requests done so quickly. The end result looks amazing. Not only visually, but the plugin’s functionality works so smooth and user friendly. What a great plug in cmdownloads is and what fantastic support. I needed to create an online document archive, viewable by the public but which members could upload to without logging into the WordPress backend – this plugin does all that and looks great.
I have been running the pro version for the past six months and any issues or question I have had have been answered quickly by support and they have not hesitated to go into my admin area and sort out the problem.
The plugin is easy to set up with lots of configurable options and widgets and shortcodes.
