CiviCRM Admin Utilities not listed under settings menu
]]>Is there a way to customize the wordpress bar civicrm shortcuts menu, even if by editing some code? the one that has a drop list starting with CiviCRM Dashboard, All Contacts, Advanced Search and so on. we don’t use most of those things, but frequently some others.
]]>Hi Christian, thanks for the great plugin!
I noticed that CAU has an “Upgrade CiviCRM” function with the addendum “Please note: you need to update the CiviCRM plugin folder first.”
Does that mean that, via sftp, I have to remove the old “civicrm” directory from /wp-content/plugins/ and then upload and unpack the new civicrm-x.yy.z-wordpress.zip there?
Also, what about the localization file? Do I update that manually like before, after updating civicrm?
thanks, geb
]]>Enabling CiviCRM Admin utilities creates an error in the WordPress site health screen.
Error is:
“A PHP session was created by a session_start() function call. This interferes with REST API and loopback requests. The session should be closed by session_write_close() before making any HTTP requests.”
I have checked the PHP code of the plugin and cannot find the session_start problem in the code, so it is likely to be something it calls out of sequence within the code.
Deactivating removes the error in the site health screen. A performance inspection of the page load does not give any details as to what’s causing it.
]]>One of our CEO’s dashboard says Hi Glenda, welcome to CiviCRM. His name isnt Glenda though. We have checked our contact entry for him as well as our user details and cant find where it was entered as Glenda. Where is this field pulling from?
]]>Under WordPress User Notification, I have the option to “Suppress the email to the WordPress user” checked. However the site is still producing emails to people saying “This notice confirms that your email address on [site name] was changed to [email protected]. If you did not change your email, please contact the Site Administrator.” This happens when we are merging duplicate contacts that have different emails. It seems like this “suppress” option isn’t working as expected.
]]>Hej Christian,
something breaks the site while updating your plugin from 0.82 to 0.83 on my CiviCRM 5.35 & WP 5.7. I had to deactivate your fabulous plugin via database to get the site running again.
After this, the plugin isn’t updated anyway. Sorry, can’t find more tech details.
Best
Torben
Hi Christian!
I just came across your plugin and am so excited!
Was about to do a minor upgrade, and saw that the plugin can help.
The plugin says:
“Upgrade CiviCRM Click this to upgrade CiviCRM.
Please note: you need to update the CiviCRM plugin folder first.”
Having manually done this upgrade a number of times – (which is a headache, and scares me…), I’m not sure what ‘update the civiCRM plugin folder first’ means. Normally to complete an upgrade – I’m doing copies of some files, deleting the dir, unzipping into the dir, restoring files, restoring extensions, updating the db…
So, I didn’t see any hints as to what clicking that button will and won’t do. So, before I push it, I figured I’d ask, and keep myself out of trouble.
Thanks, and have a great weekend!

I don’t see any way of getting a short code for a CiviCRM contribution page.
Also, I see no icon, while creating a WordPress page, to insert a short code for a CiviCRM contribution page.
Does this plugin not function with the above-listed combination of versions?
]]>I love this plugin, Christian. Nice work!
This is a really small thing that I’ve noticed on a few our our sites that run CiviCRM Admin Utilities: The placeholder text (“Name/Email”) in the top CiviCRM Admin bar contact search both appears in a Serif font, whereas everything else in the menu appears in Sans Serif, and it looks a little odd.
Best wishes
Marcus
