I just wanted to let you know that a client site of mine had a fatal error with the latest update(3.0.0), details below. I’ve removed the Theme name (custom) and redacted part of the file path for their privacy, but here is the error. I’m just going to keep the plugin deactivated until there’s a fix available, but figured you’d like to know.

WordPress version 6.4.3
Current plugin: Cision Block (version 3.0.0) PHP version 7.4.33

Error Details

An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 9 of the file
/wp-content/plugins/cision-block/src/Frontend/Frontend.php.
Error message: syntax error, unexpected ‘Trait’ (T_TRAIT), expecting identifier (T_STRING) or ‘{‘

Please let me know if there’s any other details I can provide that would be helpful.

is there a search-feature to this plugin? I noticed there is a “search_term” setting in WordPress dashboard, but when I write something in the Search term field, the whole shortcode stops working. What is that field made for?

Cision doesn’t seem to have any information on how to obtain a unique json feed identifier. How is this done?

Also, is it possible to specify geography in the Cision blocks plugin?

Cision is sending categories thrugh json, but nothing is picked up in WP. What i would like is to get the cision category to auto add as a WP category Disclaimer.

Is this possible?

Hey!

I’m testing this plugin out for a project, but I can’t set the count higher than 100. If I set 101 or higher it defaults back to 50.

If I want to use this plugin for a company listen on a market I need to have all the pressreleases available on the website, but it seems I can’t show more that 100?

Let me know if there’s a way to get around this and show all pressreleases from Cision.

It seems like the Cision Block items are not affected by custom CSS entered in the custom css editor under Appearance in WP. Is there any way to override the native Cision Block CSS without having to edit Cision Blocks’ own CFF file? Thanks! / Found the problem, my bad.

Hello! How can I limit the amount of words that Cision Block displays in the news article? I would like to cut it down to let’s say, 25 words max, followed by a “…”, and then the “Read More” link. How can I do this? Thanks!

As I can see from the json import the “intro” and information there is sent from Cision. This information is not importing like the rest in the post. We have to paste in the intro after the import manually. How do I solve this problem?

Hi, I’m having trouble using the “Single Press Release” function in the plug-in. It just says that the page doesn’t exists when you go to “Read more”, or in my case, “L?s mer”.

The Read More function works great with sending me to the press release on Cisions own page, but I want to display the release on my website.

What do I do wrong?

I have used the shortcodes with both regulatory true and false but they show the same messages.

I talked to cision and they confirm we are using IsRegulatory false and true correctly in the system. Might there have been somehtig that changed so it doesnt work with the shorcode?

Is there another parameter that needs to be specified when using the regulatory parameter in the shortcode?

The shortcodes I am using are:
1. For showing all: [cision-block]

This seems to work.

2. For showing only non-regulatory: [cision-block regulatory=false]

This still shows all and not only the non-regulatory.

I cannot seem to be able to read the detailed json feed and I am unsure what the problem can be. It turns up empty.
Am using the test ID 296B81DF9974188B (https://publish.ne.cision.com/papi/Release/296B81DF9974188B?format=json)
Have tried the non detailed 734556E76B7944D3841C88011A35449E but the read more does not work. Only routs back to the original page.

We are using two blocks, one with the English identifier and one with the Swedish identifier. However, they both publish in the language belonging to the identifier set in the general Cision Block settings.

Shouldn’t the settings in the shortcodes override the general settings? Especially as you are able to use multiple blocks with multiple language settings.

I have two questions:
1) how does the cision-feed-pager work? Because I am doing some testing regarding this plugin (both with your test feed Identifier and the test feed provided by Cision) and if I click on one of the other 9 numbers beside 1, to display other news, I am redirected to the homepage, on which the plugin is. Any suggestions on how to make the pager work?
2) Same thing happens with the ‘Read more’ button. With your test feed it works (= I am redirected to Cision test page), while with the test feed given by Cision, I am redirected on the same page again, but with some errors in display (it changes font color and background color for some sections of the homepage).

For some reason, your plugin refuses to display our latest regulatory posts. According to the plugin, our latest regulatory post is posted on April 2018. The fact is that we have published two regulatory posts since then, one in September and one in June.

What could be the reason?

And also, we would like to display both regulatory AND regular posts in our feed. How can we accomplish that?

Is it possible to have more than 1 identifier? coz the cision gave us different identifier per language and per type.

Hi,
In a couple of places in your plugin, you describe the input date format as 2001-01-01. This is not optimal, since a user won’t be able to tell if this means yyyy-mm-dd or yyyy-dd-mm. To eliminate this, I’d suggest you change this string to 2001-12-31 instead.
I checked your pending translations to Swedish and changed a lot of – (minus sign) to – (ndash or Alt-0150).
I’ll add you as Swedish translation editor for your own plugin, that’ll enable you to speed up iterations in your work.
In order for a new language pack to be automatically created and become available for distribution, at least 95% of the strings in the plugin code need to be translated (and approved). (Readme strings are propagated individually.)
