Hello – Caxton loads the font-awesome stylesheets – I’d prefer control of this – perhaps with an add_filter function for functions.php? Also LMK if this already exists in some form!
Thank you, RB
Hi @jamesmarsland,
To an earlier request:
‘Is there a plan to update this as it isn’t working for the latest version of WordPress?’
“You ask what’s not working?”
But that is (often) not how it works.
fe. Some employers require ALL plugs to be up-to-date, no exceptions.
Or just for the peace of mind of the person building the site, it’s always good to know the dev ‘still cares’. And gives a bit better night rest at that ??
So, my question is the same: Any updates planned?

Hello,
I would like the font of my text that is in the middle of the slider of my home page to be my installed font of “Rosella-Deco”. How can I do this?
Hello.
Just tried the plugin and am quite impressed by it.
However I have an issue with Posts Grid in it. It has no posts offset option. Without this option makes it almost impossible to use Caxton Layouts and Post Grid together. Please add an option of post offset in Post Grid if possible in it.
Hi, just wondering: is this plugin being developed/maintained, and why does it seem to have no support through this support forum?
I’d like to use the slider, however height can only set as percentage of screen height. I just want the the height of the image, nothing more, nothing less. Is that possible?
My developer, who has already submitted a similar topic to your support, had to block Caxton upgrades after WP was upgraded to 5.8.1. because the site was returning block validation errors making it difficult to perform edits. As a temporary work around the developer has reverted to an older version of Caxton but this is not ideal. When do you expect to have Caxton tested to 5.8.1? Thank you!
Hi,
We have been happily using Caxton since 2019 on a client site. We recently noticed that the caxton layout block has been throwing block validation errors. We resolved this issue by reverting to 1.26 but would really like to find a resolution to this issue so that we can retain the latest version.
The error in the browser console is :
Block validation: Expected attribute style
of value padding-top:0;padding-left:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-right:0;grid-template-columns:repeat(12, 1fr)
, saw padding-top:0;padding-left:8vw;padding-bottom:0;padding-right:8vw;grid-template-columns:repeat(12, 1fr)
.
Clicking the attempt block recovery does not do anything.
I have access to a test site if that would help. Feel free to reach out at [email protected] and I will pass you credentials.
Hi its a suggestion, rather then issue, your class names used in css files are very generic and have conflicts with many popular css framework like bootstrap. For example you have used .h5 class in your css file and the same class is used in bootstrap https://getbootstrap.com/docs/5.0/content/typography/ for heading sizes. So I suggest give some unique class naming convention, for example .caxton-h5 for your css class names.
Hi there,
I am using the plugin together with some other blocks and encountered a problem when looking at my website on the mobile: The images in the caxtons sections wander off to the right side although I also tried it with no margin on the left side. They just won’t be shown centered on the mobile which bothered me quite a bit.
Help would be appreciated, I am pretty sure, I made a mistake somewhere.
Hi!
As I added a few sections with caxton I realized that there is no option to “Remove Block” as with other elements… so I am a bit lost here…
How can I remove a caxton container without using “remove block” (which should be in the block menu!) ?
Thx for help!
I am trying to add a opaque background color to the Caxton Layout Block.
Unfortunately, changing the opacity slider value does nothing. The opacity always stays at full. Any Ideas?
after this recent upgrade, all of our caxton blocks give us this message “This block contains unexpected or invalid content.”
Hi please, it seems to me that some issue occurred after I updated my website (still on the development phase) to the latest release. I here describe the issue: it occurs on the pages I made with superhero background image + super text advise me that that block contains “unexpected content” and I need to convert the block to HTML text in order to have it going on.
While, if I try to build new pages with superhero background image + super text I notice that there are relevant issues: I cannot choose the full-wide image option…
I tried to switch from my child theme to the parent theme (Astra theme) and issues remain.
I ask if there is any fixing…
thank you
Hi there I have a problem: I cannot set caxton slider as responsive.
The only one parameter I can set as regards the layout is the height, which can set to 100, meaning that I will have full height. Doing this, the image width will be cut on the left-right sides. I would set a responsive behavior respecting the ratio of the image. It is strange to me that I have to go through adding CSS… I imagine that responsiveness should be the standard …
Can anyone help me to understand if I’m doing something wrong?
Or, anyhow, help me to achieve my result?
Many thanks
Lorenza
Hi! i really like your plugin and i really want to have it on my site.
But it happens to be that it displays an error message on the console:
GET https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=dashicons net::ERR_ABORTED 400
asset @ caxton-utils.min.js?ver=1.26.0:1
loadFonts @ caxton-utils.min.js?ver=1.26.0:1
newContentManager @ caxton-utils.min.js?ver=1.26.0:1
Is there a way to solve it?
Cheers!
The following CSS is being loaded once the plugin is activated:
.h1 {
height: 1rem;
}
Please don’t do that. Anyone using Bootstrap classes is going to suddenly find their top-level headings visually broken. Prefix your selectors, please.
Hi
I use the caxton layout block extensively but struggle to get a layout of ‘full width background’ to display correctly. Both ‘normal’ and ‘full width content’ are fine but irrespective of theme (2020, Astra, Udesign) I find the content is misaligned – in a different way with each theme – but one of the margins is off- either the content is ‘hanging over’ on the RH side or there is a huge LH margin. Any ideas …?
Hi there,
I’m using Caxton (v1.21) for my site and it looks like it is still calling Font Awesome for the All.Css (https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.5.0/css/all.css), when running a GT Metrix speed test or other speed tests.
I’ve removed the FA Brands for social icons and have replaced the shopping cart icon (FA Solid 900) with an icon image I’m hosting via the site.
Using the Asset CleanUp plugin, I’ve unloaded Font Awesome site wide and have added the below code to functions.php.
I don’t want to use Font Awesome, because it is slowing down my site load speed.
Any support and tips would be greatly appreciated.
Code added to Functions.php
//* TN Dequeue Styles - Remove Font Awesome from WordPress theme
add_action( 'wp_print_styles', 'tn_dequeue_font_awesome_style' );
function tn_dequeue_font_awesome_style() {
wp_dequeue_style( 'fontawesome' );
wp_deregister_style( 'fontawesome' );
}

I am using a simple line of HTML as part of a caxton block
eg. <hr style=”border:0 #ca5323 solid;border-top-width:2px;”>, or just
.
I use it to ‘top and tail’ some of my titles. It has stopped working – the lines no longer appear. If I deactivate Caxton the lines appear again.
I upgraded today to version 1.21.0 of your plug-in. Unfortunately, it has broken my site. I am using the 2019 theme, on WP version 5.3.2.
Caxton blocks now have large gaps between them (Inspector shows: .entry .entry-content > *, .entry .entry-summary > * {margin: 32px 0;})
Also, the shape blocks are no longer showing full width, despite being set as such.
Please advise.

I am noticing on the past 6 websites I have created, the column features using Caxton are not working on Internet Explorer. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this or code to add?
The Slider block doesn’t seem to be working with the latest version of WP. It’s the first time I’ve tried to use it so I don’t know if it has worked in the past or if it’s a recent thing. Or perhaps I just don’t know what I’m doing. ??
I’ve recently installed Caxton to enable a bit more personalisation with my woocommerce site.
I use Yoast SEO plugin to do all the SEO stuff and didn’t realise that Caxton was involved with SEO at all, I can’t see this on the plugin pages at all.
Anyone know how I can mitigate the current conflict I have of running 2 SEO plugins? I only want Yoast for SEO and Caxton for the layouts it provides.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Tom
This plugin is excellent and is needed with the WooBuilder blocks Pro in order to make Product Layouts unique. However, the recent update conflicts with Revolution Slider. I have spent a lot of time investigating this problem, deactivating plugins, changing theme and reactivating them to see which was causing Rev Slider to disappear. I have two sites using both Rev Slider and Caxton, on one I have removed Rev Slider and the other I have removed Caxton. But now have to rebuild the layouts of the inner pages.
Please can you liaise with Theme Punch to rectify this.
