]]>I need a plugin that I can use to copy one taxonomy’s items to another taxonomy. For instance, we have topics and topic1. I want to move all the topics under one custom post type to topic1.
It should copy, not move, from one existing taxonomy to another (it might move as well, but it must copy at least).
It should work for multilingual – WPML (translation).
It should work for standard and custom taxonomies (taxonomies created with a tool like CPT UI).
Does Bulk Move fit the bill?
]]>I cannot delete/unistall this plugin after I deactivated it. The message is:
“It is not possible to delete a plugin while it is activated on the main site”. However I don’t have a multisite. Can you help? Thanks
Hi,
I’m doing a Bulk Move By Custom Taxonomy.
I select the From category (left) and To category (right) and “Don’t remove them” for other terms as I have a handful of posts that have other terms.
It successfully adds the new taxonomy (right) but leaves the old one still there. It’s not a huge issue as it’s 7 out of 188 but not what I expected. I ended up running it again and choosing to remove the other terms and then manually reselecting those other terms for the 7 affected posts but seems odd to me that it didn’t work as expected.
Does your plugin make it possible to add additional tags to a group of posts rather than moving those posts from one to another?
For example, let’s say I have a bunch of posts with the tag “banana”. I want to keep the existing tag, but also apply the tag “fruit” to posts with the “banana” tag. Would Bulk Move allow that, or does it only permit moving posts to different tags?
Thanks!
]]>Hi,
I have magazine with categories over 15000 posts per category.
Some of those i want to “merge” but i keep on getting connection timeout.
I have full control over my wordpress / php / server settings, even tried with 12 GB ram assigned to the account , but nothing…
Is there any other way/trick to do that
]]>How can I move a category to a tag? In the plugin I only can move a tag to a category. But in your plugin description you say:
“MOVE POSTS FROM CATEGORY TO TAG
This module allows you to move posts from one category to another tag.”
Hi,
It is a great plugin to change default bulk editing behavior of WP.
But “BY Default selection” should be as
“Don’t remove them”
for “If the post contains other categories, then”
and
for “If the post contains other tags, then”
and so on
It will cut down the risk.
Thanks
If you’re looking to move bulk categories only then this won’t work. Be careful. Once you move you’re screwed if it’s not correct.
]]>Hi,
I have a new category that i would like to add to ALL posts. And while doing that i want to KEEP the categories that they already have.
I have tried several ways (removing and don’t removing categories) but all that I get is that this new category replaces all existing cats to the post.
Here’s a screencast: https://somup.com/cqXu2YfTBr
I hope it’s possible though!
Rob
Thank you for your plugin – it worked perfectly to move Posts from one Category to another!
Unfortunately, I now have an issue when I go to the All Posts tab in the WordPress Admin Panel. I can see all of the Posts, but when I try to filter by a particular Category, I only see 8 results even though there are many more Posts than this in the Categories. It lists a number at the bottom of the page indicating all the posts in the Category and it’s more than 8. I also don’t have any way to advance to the next page to see more Posts.
I’ve logged in using multiple browsers in private mode. I’ve deactivated the plugin and the problem continues.
Can you let me know if you’ve seen this issue and if there’s anything I can do to solve it?
Thank you so much for your help and for your plugin!
]]>HI there,
I really like your Plugin. Thank you very much!
I am trying to find a way to move tags to a custom taxonomy.
Any solutions?
Thank you.
best regards.
]]>Is it possible to assign a new category to a very large number of posts 75k+ ?
]]>If a blog has lots of tags, the select into the “Bulk Move By Tag” or “Bulk Move Category By Tag” becomes huge and page size explodes.
Tag selection should be done via input text and autocomplete/suggestion, in the same way the default WP post editor does.
]]>The page takes forever to load, then once I select category to move from and to and click the button, it gives http error 500.
Maybe it takes forever bc it’s trying to load lots of tags… should just have a screen for categories only so it doesn’t stall what should be a quick page load with <30 categories.
]]>Can you also provide the ability to assign authors for a bulk amount of posts – all or tag/category based?
]]>Hi there,
we have a news site with a few main categorys and many subcategories, and actually we tell our authors to always make the subcategory “primary” when choosing the categories, so the specific subcategory will be shown at the breadcrumb navigation for their posts.
(Which is really easy actually: If you click the subcategory first, then the main category, the first selection will be primary. If you make it the other way round, it’s one more click at “make primary” … but they always forget.)
So I’m looking for a way to automatically move the primary category to the last subcategory for all new and existing posts.
Is this possible with your plugin?
]]>Team,
could you please add support for woocommerce products tags and categories ?

Thanks!
P.S. Great plugin!

I’d like to know if wordpress will remember old urls after a post has been moved so I don’t lose links to those posts.

]]>I would like to use the “Buk move by tag” to juste Delete (do not move) some tags from my posts, so I choose in the left side the the tag I want to delete and in the right side I left the forsst option which is “remove tag” then I click on the button just below “bulk move”, and I get this message : “Moved 0 posts from the selected tag “
Thanks
hello. its good if:…
in “calss-bulk-move-posts”, you have:
'post_type' => 'post'
and it is good, if you replace that with :
'post_type' => $_POST['my_post_type']
as we could input custom post type in field, instead of default post.
thanks
]]>Hi, I have a big blog with hundreds of posts. I have to delete a category and move the posts to a different category.
Can you explain better the meaning of the option “If the post contains other categories, then ….” ?
Let’s say I have 3 categories:
AAAA – it has 500 posts
BBBB – it has 400 posts
CCCC – it has 200 posts
I want to delete category CCCC and assign all those posts to category AAAAA.
100 posts of CCCC are only in category CCCC.
50 posts of CCCC are in CCCC, BBBB
50 posts of CCCC are in CCCC, AAAA and BBBB
If I select in the left column CCCC and in the right column AAAA what will happen to the: 100 posts that are only in CCCC, to the 50 that are in CCCC and BBBB and to the 50 that are in all the categories already?
]]>I’m trying to change the category for all the posts with a certain set of tags with the “Bulk Move Category by Tag” option.
It keeps running for a while and then redirects instead of to the same page to servername/~username (where I originally installed wordpress to be able to migrate data). It hasn’t done all the posts, but there is no reason for it to stop earlier. I’ve already changed the script timeout to 800 seconds, but so far it didn’t change, not everything has been done in a certain category.
Twice it has worked, both with <50 posts in a tag, all other times it hasn’t worked at all.
Does anybody else have the same problem?
]]>Hi!,
I used successfully your plugin several times, but I have an issue now.
When I accesss to bulk move or delete posts (both of them) I get a blank page, no fields to choose posts. WP menu is still there, but no plugin functionality at all…
This happens only in the post option.
]]>I must be incredibly stupid because it took me months to work out where this plugin was accessed from. As I can’t attach an image I put a copy of my screen on https://imgur.com/Zpbg42t
]]>Hi,
Instead of ‘post’ type, I wanted to use this plugin to manage categories for ‘product’ type. Basically, I wanted to move out specific products from the ‘New Arrival’ category.
Is this possible? Can I easily edit the plugin in case?
Thanks.
]]>I’m not sure if I misunderstand what the plugin does or if it is not working correctly. I am reorganizing my site so let’s say I have a category called animals and I want to move all the animal posts to a category called chickens. I still want the posts in the animal category but I want to add the posts from animals to a new category called chickens. that means each of the posts will be in the animals and chicken categories.
I use the top section and in the left select the category animals and on the right hand side I select chickens and select the second radio button from the right that that says Don’t remove them if the posts are in other categories and click the bulk move button.
To me what should happen is what I described above. What happens is that my posts are in the animals and chicken categories but any other categories that the post was assigned are removed.
I tried it with only a very small category to test and then I tested it with another small category. both times it removed all the other categories.
Why is is removing the other categories?
]]>Hey Sadhu,
In Bulk Move, I would love it if it were possible to move custom post types between terms in custom taxonomies.
Is this possible?
Even if I could just change the post type and the taxonomy chosen in Bulk Move, and rename the plugin, that would be great. I just need a fix for a client.
Is there a quick and easy way to do this? Again, I just need a quick solution for a client that is WordPress based and doesn’t involve them going into mySQL or doing anything too complicated for them.
Cheers and thank you!
Rob
