Hi there, I’ve been maintaining this plugin for use on my own sites for a while, and I have a working version that I’d like to see made available to others. Would you like some help, or pass this onto someone else to look after?
Hi, does this plugin work with wordpress 5.7 and BP 7.1.0?
I installed it, but I do not see changes in the registration form.
Thanks!
I would love to use this plugin as a shortcode on a Page.
After registration the user is redirected to that page and can then choose Groups.
Would it be possible for you to create a shortcode?
Carsten.
I want to change the title of the output from H4 to H3 and I noticed in \includes\bp-registration-groups.php that this opens as an H4 but closes as an H3.
I assume this is a typo?

<?php echo $bp_registration_groups_title; ?>

Hi,
I just installed the plugin and changed some settings – but it doesn’t list the BuddyPress groups. It just lists one line that says “Group Functions”
Maybe I’m doing something wrong.
Best regards,
Mikael
Is there a way to have the BuddyPress registration groups box show up more than once on a page? And is there a way to choose which groups show up for each instance of the BuddyPress registration groups boxes?
My site has two different types of groups, regional groups and interest groups. What I’d like to do is have two questions on the registration form: One asking which regional group the new user would like to join, and have the registration groups box show up under that, which only shows the regional groups. Then also have a second question asking which interest groups they’d like to join, with a groups box underneath that only shows the interest groups.
Is that possible? If so, how do I do it? (Please write detailed instructions, with file locations and everything. I’m not a developer / coder.)

Hi,
Related to:

If BuddyPress Registration Groups in Settings is not enabled you will have a fatal error on registration.
Do you confirm?
Thanks!
Hello there,
Wonderful plugin that helped our community website a lot, thank you very much!
When we installed it about a couple of years back we realized that there is no option to change the group field to be required.
Are you able to share a piece of code perhaps in order to change that?
Or perhaps add the option to one of the next updates?
Hoping for positive answer ??
Hi there, thanks for creating this plugin, it really is useful. I’m afraid I’ve found a bug with your latest version, it’s the following debug warning:
TypeError: wp.updates is undefined
https://test.com/wp-admin/update.php?action=upgrade-plugin&plugin=buddypress-registration-groups-1%2Floader.php&_wpnonce=288417d85a line 708
I was just saving the config at the time.
I run a magazine site dedicated to BuddyPress – buddyuser.com I’ve at long last started a review of your plugin. I’ve used it for years so it’s guaranteed to score 100%!
One slight issue with your plugin is that the form does not as started sit well in the buddyPress registration page for the theme I’m using (2015), and I’m going to use it as an example of how a little css can go a long way.
Thanks again for creating and maintaining this, you are doing a fine job!
Hello,
this is what I exactly needed, thanks.
It still seems to work under WordPress 4.9 and BuddyPress 2.5.14
Are updates needed and is this still being maintained?
Hello,
We have a live site that is needing this group select on signup to be required. Can you (or anyone that can figure it out) let us know what we need to do to modify the plugin to make this required on the account signup page?
I am building an intranet that spans 5 business units and maybe more as the company grows. I didn’t read it in the description but I have some custom needs and didn’t know if they were possible.
I have a dropdown list of different businesses a registrant can be apart of, they can only choose one. Once they choose the business they are in, there is a dropdown that automatically appears from being hidden when they choose their business they are in. Each choice of business has it own hidden field that would appear as the business is chosen. So for example a registrant chooses “Maintenance” as the business they are apart of then a selection box appears with maintenance locations, so then they would choose for example “MCI” from the appeared dropdown. Then they would go on to fill in name, email, username, and state. Once they are done with the fields and press register, they would then be added to the group “Maintenance”, “MCI” and the state they chose as they state of residence.
Is that possible with this plugin to have conditional logic applied to make sub fields appear and user can be put into multiple user groups.
I am wondering what I should do to list just three given groups on the registration page
It would be nice to be able to select the groups we want to appear on the registration page by group identity
I tried to do infectedmann’s hack to change to drop down but for some reason it is not assigning to the group upon registration.
With the original code, using checkbox or radio buttons the new members are being assigned perfectly but the site owners don’t accept this solution and want me to change it to drop down.
Any thoughts on why it is not working as drop down?
I do not want the user choose the group by them self.
For example: When the user select a drop-down option to county A then, the plugin sets the Group A for that current user. Is that possible?

First of all, thank you for your plugin.
Unfortunately, I can’t get it work. I have the groups listing on register form but it doesn’t work. When I submit my registration, I’m not part of any groups I have checked…

Great plugin! Thanks!
Wondering if you guys could help possibly with the display on my registration page.
https://www.nerdlouisville.org/register/
As you can see, the plugin puts the groups shifting to the right a bit and 10 aren’t displaying.
Can I easily override the CSS in the plugin to put it down below the other aspects of registration and aligned to the left of the page?
Thanks!
