I am trying to figure out how to get WordPress or Buddypress to e-mail the user when his/her account is approved from the “Pending” state. Is this possible with your plugin? Thanks!

]]>Hi!
I recently upgraded my site with a new theme (BuddyBoss Boss. theme) and am running WP 4.1.1 and upgraded from BuddyPress 1.9.2 to 2.2.1.
I have a setup where I redirect the activation e-mail to the site admin to be able to manually control new members and verify their information before activating them and letting them log in. This is a cruical function for my site since it’s a private network.
After the upgrade I noticed that some spam users were automatically activated and able to log in without my manual activation. I have narrowed down this issue and think it depends on this plugin. Is this a conflict with the new user management function in BuddyPress 2.0?
This is from the BuddyPress 2.0 changelog:
“Signups/registrations have been completely overhauled.
Pending users can be managed at Dashboard > [Network Admin >] Users (resend activation emails, perform manual activations, and more)”
I disabled your plugin and now I get a “your account is not activated” message when I create a dummy user and try to log in, which is how it used to work.
Is this possible to fix? I really like your plugin because it makes it easy to manage pending users and view their details before activating them. Thanks!

]]>Greetings,
I’ve downloaded and activated the pending activation plugin but it shows (0) zero. I know that I have users who have not activated their account and I’ve received almost 1000 emails of new users, but the counter shows 530.
Please advise what I need to do in order to make it work.

]]>Hello,
I’m trying to activate 2500 WP users into BP members – so thank you for this plugin! Now, if I could get it to work ??
I’m getting this error – for lines 12-15 – in the admin area:
Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /homepages/4/d460829599/htdocs/healthitlink/wp-content/plugins/activate-users-in-buddypress/includes/activate-users.php on line 12
And then the following comes up – see below – when I try to “activate users” – I just pasted one instance of each different warning but the error occurs for each user I’m trying to activate.
Running BP 1.8.1
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Rob

]]>Hi There-
I just tested my pending applications on my site and with my test my dummy account showed up in pending applications but it also showed up under users in my user accounts. How do I stop this? I don’t want people to automatically become users. I was using pending applications in the beginning as a gatekeeper from unwanted spam members. Now they already become members without my approval!

]]>Hi,
Since I upgraded to ver 1.0 a message appeared showing the word “testing” below the post update area (above the activity stream itself).
I tried eliminating possibilities and found that it’s the pending activation plugin that causes it. After downgrading back to the previous version everything is well.
Is it happenning on my site only?

]]>Using Buddypress 1.7.2, I’m getting a lot of errors with the plugin. I just installed it and it pulls up about 400 members in the pending list. When I search for these members in the actual WP Users list, more than half of these members are already activated. There are also many members who have not been activated who are not added to this pending list. Any thoughts on why activated members are showing up in the pending list and non-activated members are not?
Thanks for the help.

]]>I am using WP 3.5.1 and BuddyPress 1.7.2 and have had a few users sign up in the past few days who have not received activation emails. On another site I own, I have the BuddyPress Pending Activations plugin installed, and it works perfectly, allowing me to manually go in and activate users who have not yet been activated or resend their activation emails to the address they used when signing up.
But on this site, I am completely unable to do this, as the BuddyPress Pending Activations plugin doesn’t work. I’ve deactivated all plugins and themes, and still have this issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

]]>Hi guys,
I know this has recently been taken over by a new dev.
Just wanted to let you know that when I am re-sending bulk activation emails, the process goes through but only the ‘Date Resent’ column is updated for the FIRST name in the list and only that one email is sent.
At the moment I have to go through and do each one separately.
I’m pretty sure this worked in previous versions.
Can anyone confirm that they get this behaviour too?
It’s in the latest version 0.5.3
Thanks! ??

I tried uploading via FTP and also through wordpress native install. Both have same error.
I guess it’s not a huge problem since its in the admin area, but it always makes me nervous since this is running a live (and popular) site.

]]>Hi Rich-
With 3.5, prepare
expects an additional argument, so it issues a warning for line 18 of function etivite_bp_pending_activations_users_count()
. It doesn’t look like you need prepare
anyway (since the query isn’t using any variables), so I’ve updated the statement to
$count = $wpdb->get_var( "SELECT COUNT(u.ID) FROM $wpdb->usermeta m1, $wpdb->users u WHERE u.ID = m1.user_id AND u.user_status = 2 AND m1.meta_key = 'activation_key' ORDER BY u.user_registered ASC" );
It works fine for me on two test installations.
