How do I enable media uploads to show up on the activity page – in other words so other members can see that they uploaded a photo.
]]>I had a good working rtmedia plugin yesterday.I had to re-install buddypress after I messed something up.
After I reset my buddypress installation and created a clean installation, my rtmedia is no longer working.
Just like other users reported, I am getting a 404 error when visiting a profile media page or click on a media in the activity feed. Unfortunately there is no solution given in the support forum, so I will have to create a new ticket.
I can still upload media to the actvity feed, but no longer in my profile environment when visiting the media section. There is a 404 when I go there. Also I can not go to other profile’s media section. 404 error.
I already tried removing and re-installing the rtmedia plugin. That dit not work. Than I did a reset of my rtmedia plugin with a clean install, still the same issue. I am lost, please help.
It is somehow related to my theme, but it worked fine yesterday and I did not change my theme. The issue only started after I re-installed Buddypress. So it is something within my theme it appears. Is that something you can help? Default theme doesnt have the issue when I try that.
Please help!! This is breaking my site !!
]]>I already have a ticket with them but i was hoping you had some insight.
When rtmedia is active and BuddyX theme is active the group media system doesn’t work. the Media page just goes to the homepage and uploading images to a post or a comment acts normal but does not work.
We appreciate any help you can give us

]]>Hello,
I installed this plugin (version 4.6.20) on a fresh installation of WordPress 6.6.1. After installing, on the front end I got this error, and it also affects the appearance of the site:
Deprecated: Function bp_use_wp_admin_bar is deprecated since version 14.0.0 with no alternative available. in /home/u299666156/domains/amazingadventures.travel/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6085

If it helps at all, I have the BP Classic plugin and whether or not it is activated has no effect on the front end.
Also, when I upload files on the front end, after the files are uploaded, the upload section goes blank as if nothing ever happened and nothing was uploaded, The albumns remain empty too.

]]>Hi,
I am chasing a problem on our live site and have replicated it on a skeleton WordPress 6.5.3 site. The skeleton site is using the Hello Elementor theme, has 2 active plugins – BuddyPress and rtMedia. The problem is when I click on Media in a user’s BP profile, I get a 404 error.
Please advise. Thank you!
]]>Hello,
I used this plugin for a BuddyPress installation and created a gallery and added a gallery name and description, and uploaded some test images, but the gallery description doesn’t show up, only the name shows up.
Also is there a way to:
1. Give each uploaded file a description?
Edit: I’ve figured out how to do this: after uploading the images, go to your gallery -> My Gallery -> click on the gallery to view them. Click on the image you want to edit the name and description of, and the form will open. This is a very bad way to do things though, there is a dedicated option (in BuddyX theme, it is a tab) but when clicked on, it displays nothing: https://imgur.com/lXHXMwk
Can this editing method be changed?
Also: There is an edit button but that does nothing: Clicking on this https://imgur.com/6RhVCgw only takes you to a large preview of the same image: https://imgur.com/zByxvMl
2. Remove photos from a gallery? (at the moment you can only delete the entire gallery and start over or reorder the order of the media displayed)
3. Remove one of the redundant buttons for the gallery? At the moment, the gallery title is a button that leads the clicker to the gallery, but so does the “View” button. Can you remove either the link of the title, or the “view” button?
Edit:
Here is the screenshot of the issue: https://imgur.com/a/QivNiag
4. Remove the uploaded file name from display?
]]>I am trying to enable an Upload form that does not require a Login. I put it on the home page, but it does not show up.
The Shortcode I am using is; [rtmedia_uploader privacy=0]

]]>Hello folks. I am using the plugin to allow users to post media content in their Activity thread. When I add only text content and press “Post Update”, it works and adds the content to the user’s activity. However, if I add an image or video, it will not post. I have confirmed that the images and video are small enough; they don’t hit my upload limits.
I have also deactivated all plugins but BuddyPress and reverted to one of the default WordPress themes, and still no success. I am using WordPress version 6.5.2.
]]>Hello,
My site suddenly experienced a critical error because of the rtMedia for WordPress, BuddyPress and bbPress plugin. I’m getting this error,
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 225 of the file /nas/content/live/movarahomedev/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-media/app/importers/BPMediaAlbumimporter.php. Error message: Declaration of BPMediaAlbumimporter::create_album($author_id, $album_name = ‘Imported M…’) must be compatible with BPMediaImporter::create_album($album_name = ”, $author_id = 1)
My site is working fine if I deactivate this plugin, but throwing the error and stops working because of this.
Can you please check as soon as possible? and get back to me.
Thanks
]]>Hi rtMedia team,
How to disable the user-uploaded media’s in the WordPress Media Library.
]]>Hi,
I want to temporarily restrict access to rtmedia pages for newly registered members of my site, until their account is approved by admin. My site uses buddypress. I want to simply redirect them to the homepage if they try to access any rtmedia page, including their own.
i know how to do everything except identify if they are on an rtmedia page.
Would something like bp_is_current_component() work?
For example ..
if( //check if not approved yet// && bp_is_current_component('rtmedia') ) {
// redirect to homepage // }
I’d appreciate any help.
Thanks!

]]>Hi,
Not sure if this is a big problem, but I am trying to speed my site up and installed Query Monitor to help identify possible issues, and on every page of my site QM is reporting the following:
Position: Missing Dependencies Handle: rtmedia-activity Host: sentlive.com Source: wp-content/plugins/buddypress-media/app/assets/js/rtMedia.activity.js Dependencies: bp-nouveau (missing), rtmedia-backbone Version: 4.6.18
I have no idea if this is affecting anything, but I thought you should be aware of it. I am using the latest WP, Blocksy child theme, and over 50 plugins, including Buddypress. However not all the pages on my site feature either Buddypress or anything to do with your plugin, so I am a little mystified.

]]>Hi has the templating structure changed? I am using this link: https://rtmedia.io/docs/developers/themes/templating-system/ – so I’ve got it set as below but it doesn’t work for me.
I also tried changing the theme file to buddypress-media where I had copied the contents of the templates file over, but that didn’t work either.
I know my file works (the file with which I’m trying to override the plugin template) – because if I copy it over into the plugin file itself, the changes render as expected.
Am I doing something incorrectly? Here’s the path I’m using:
my-theme/rtmedia/media/media-gallery-item.php
Many thanks
Hi there, I just realised that after activating RT Media, the video camera upload option on my mobile phone has disappeared. Clicking the add media button no longer opens the option of selecting to choose video camera, only normal camera. Is there something I should do in the settings? I couldn’t see anything, or a function to enable video upload on mobiles?
Kind thanks
Hi there,
When I use the upload form in profile or group to upload an image, the upload works fine, (I have it set not to directly post, the user must click to start upload) – but then after upload the images do not display, they do not render at all, only the titles render (including the newly uploaded image.
When I refresh, it all looks as it should.
Has this arisen before with anyone else? What could be happening?
Is there a way I can add something in via functions.php to prompt a refresh after upload, as that would solve it? I tried in another theme and had the same issue.
Everything seems fine in upload from activity.
Kind thanks
Hi there, I can’t see how to remove the ‘Max file Size’ text rtMedia places on the right of the upload button on the upload form – should it best be done with css? I can see an id when I look for it. Or is there a template that can be edited and placed in rtmedia in child theme? Thanks
]]>Hi there, we’re exploring using RT Media, I wondered if you could help, I’m just looking at my gallery, and my video thumbnails are being replaced in my gallery (profile gallery) with a default video image thumbnail, which would prevent us from using the plugin as this would stand out like a sore thumb for front end users. I was looking at media-item-gallery.php, is this the correct templ to remove this issue and display the proper featured thumb for each attachment instead of your default image, so that we can use the plugin? I had a play around but nothing worked and I couldn’t find any examples, how would we go about that?
Thanks
