Is there an option for this? Can I add this somehow? I want users to be able to view a hovercard and click “Send Message” and it take them to the compose message page with the recipients name already filled out

At hovercard.php within the loop I’m using:

<?php echo get_the_author_meta('description'); ?>

It doesn’t return the content of user description (bio information field from WP user profile). It would be nice to be able to use too Tweeter and FB info.

Thanks for your plugin, it workds great, except one think, the localization support.
I’ve fixed it by replacing,

in bp-hovercards.php around line #75 :
load_plugin_textdomain('bp-hovercards', false, BPHOVERCARDS_DIR . 'languages/' );

with:
load_plugin_textdomain('bp-hovercards', false, dirname( plugin_basename( __FILE__ ) ).'/languages');

it works if you change the file name of the .po and .mo files, for example with NL :
bp-hovercards-nl_NL.po

On all common bp pages everything works fine. But, when it comes to custom pages like photowall.php (/members/photowall/) All hover cards began to get 404 from admin-ajax.php

Three things:

• I changed the text-align to left, so all text is aligned to the left border. But the text is so far away from the picture. What can I change that will bring the text closer to the profile picture and remove all the empty space?
• All the lines of text have so much space between each other. What can I change to lessen the spacing between lines of text?
• When I load a page, even after it has completely finished loading, the hovercards do not automatically appear when I hover over an image. They do not begin working until about four or five seconds after I hover over a profile picture for the first time after loading the page. I’d like the hovercards to be loaded with the page. What can I do to make that happen?

Hi Mike,

Most of the times when hovering on the user’s avatar, the whole data div appears over the hovercard as shown in this photo.

What could the problem be?

I just activated the plugin.. Then hovered over a members avatar, and nothing is happening at all.. I’m wondering if it’s the theme i’m using, Buddypress social, A premium theme from wpmu dev. Or the latest version of wordpress 3.5

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again for your simple & useful plugin…
As I see the hovercard appears too on the profile avatar on the profile page, I think here there’s no need to it since I’m already on the profile page.
Also on the small avatar of my account menu, it’s a little confusing here…
Is there a way to exclude those 2 cases?

Works great in firefox, but I tried it in chrome, and when you hover the mouse over a gravatar, it only displays a tiny circle. o

Strange. I didn’t adjust the plugin at all, just a straight download and activate.

Tried using this plugin last night on our Multisite/Buddypress install.

It seemed to be working properly, with 2 major bugs.

1) Like another post in this forum, after you hit “Load more” posts, those avatars did not display a hover card.

2) The hovercard did not style properly. I was seeing the avatar and about 20 pixels of so of grey border to the right of it, which meant that I saw a TINY bit of the text data that was intended to display.

Unfortunately, the styling of the hovercard just broke, and it only showed this small portion of the card. The rest was cut off and would not display.

Thanks for the plugin. On the Activity Stream when accessing (Load More) more items, hovering over the newly added items will not generate the hovercard. In other words, it only works on the first page of items.
