I have a problem when trying to access a Jitsi room using the Buddymeet plugin. When using Google Chrome, I cannot enable access to the microphone or camera to be used in the room. The message You need to enable microphone and camera access appears, even though I have permissions enabled in my browser settings. I have checked these possible issues:
This error occurs when I use Google Chrome and also Edge. However, if I use Firefox, I have no problems; I can allow access, and both the microphone and camera work correctly in the room. What could be happening?
Thanks

Recently, I’m unable to start a BuddyMeeting regardless of the community instance I select (8×8; meet.mayfirst.org). I’m now always prompted to wait for the moderator or to login as the moderator to start the meeting. My question is how do I become a moderator? I can’t find instructions on how to become a moderator! Please advise. Thanks

When updating buddypress to the latest 12.0.0, it seems that the link for video meeting in a group disappears from the group menu.

Hi – Last week we could not get into our Group Meeting. I’m the administrator of both the Group and the website. I initiated the meeting and couldn’t get in myself. I got a message telling me that we couldn’t start the meeting because the moderator has not joined yet. I’ve never had this message before. I also can’t find anything in documentation or settings that refers to a moderator role in setting up a meeting. Please advise. Thanks.
The application was working correctly, however when buddymeet plugin loads on the group page before you enter the meeting it states that I need to give it access to my camera and microphone. I’ve checked the settings and my site already has access to my camera and microphone. Equally if I change the settings and reset permissions to ask me again, when the page loads I’m not prompted to give access to camera or microphone. Clicking on the icons on the video windows does nothing. Can you give me some advice?
Thanks in advance.
My buddypress user, just encountered this pop ups everytime they joined a meeting…
this happens also with admin, editor account and all other roles..
I think there is an update on jitsi and 8×8 server or maybe their API…
Please check on this one…we can’t use this plugin for now..
Hi. Thank you for the plugin! I am trying it out with Buddyboss groups. I can see that in admin settings of the group page I can select a password for anyone to join.
However, using a test subscriber user account I accessed the video conference without having to enter any password. Is this a bug with Buddyboss?
And is there a way to only allow group moderators or admins to have the privilege’s to screen share and be in the control of the meeting? With the test user account I was able to screen share.
And what are the limits with the 8×8 video conference? How many groups can use this free video conference feature at the same time? Is there a limit to the number of people who can join?
If there is a limit, how do we remove those limits?
Everything is working well for me except the password and who has the moderator control ability to mute someone etc.,. just need some instructions.
Thank you!
Gabriel

Has anybody experienced this before, I was under the impression that it was a free service.

Hi
Is there away to set admin roles to the meeting and hide kick buttons for normal users ?
Hi,
I would love to integrate a videofunctionality into my BuddyPress website.
Is it possible for members to create their oown webinar/video sessions with your plugin?
Or do I as admin have to create these meetings/video sessions from backend?
The plugin was working fine, but today when i go to a video meet on desktop the screen only shows a blank page. However if i try to join the meet on mobile, it works. Any solutions to this?
Thank you and best regards.

Hello,
First thank you very much for sharing freely this great plugin.
I’m having a php notice instead of the room name in the BuddyPress Groups tab “Meet Members”:
Notice: Trying to access array offset on value of type bool in wp-content/plugins/buddymeet/templates/groups/single/buddymeet/members.php on line 19
Line 19 which is :
<input type="text" name="room_name" id="room_name" value="<?php esc_attr_e($room['name']) ?>"/>
How can I solve this problem please ?
Additionaly, I’ll be happy to send you the french translations files if you tell me how to do so.
Thank you very much.
Kind regards,
Aurore
Hey,
we were using an old Jitsi version and got this view in minimized view:
https://prnt.sc/11gl46z
Now it looks like that:
https://prnt.sc/11gl66x
So very untidy. Any idea how to change it? Is it a Jitsi setting?
Thanks.
Hi,
searched the internet far and wide but I found no answer to this problem.
We use Jitsi on our own server and use Buddymeet to add a meeting room to about 30 different groups on our Buddypress site.
It all worked great until Monday, when I exited a meeting on our site… a few minutes later I went back to the room and the meeting was gone! I went to every group on our site, all of the meeting rooms are gone. We only get an empty

I rolled back the entire site, undid all sorts of changes to our child theme, tried it with different themes (including buddypress themes), uninstalled various plugins, etc. etc. etc. I tried embedding a shortcode manually to other pages on our site and still get nothing but an empty div.
Of course, the courses running on our platform have now ground to a halt. Can anyone help me? What could be potential reasons for Buddymeet not rendering?
Best,
Josh
