Could you update the plugin, so it doesn’t appear abandoned?
The Plugin “BU Navigation” appears to be abandoned (updated November 10, 2021, tested to WP 5.7.12).
]]>Hi there,
Our platform is currently running on PHP8.2 and most recent version of WordPress. We’ve run into this fatal error ‘PHP Fatal error:? Uncaught TypeError: count(): Argument #1 ($value) must be of type Countable|array, bool given in /www_data/www/wp-content/plugins/bu-navigation/composer-includes/bu-navigation-core-widget/src/data-format.php:171′.
If would be fantastic if you folks can look into this.
Best,
Kelvin
]]>After I updated WP, I saw the dialog box looking weird–extra space and “+” characters between every page. I can still drag around a page, but it is harder to get it positioned properly.
Thanks!
]]>I’ve perused the support area here and the documentation on GitHub for this answer, but maybe I’m missing the obvious.
Do you have a method (either via shortcode or widget configuration) to display a hierarchical list of all items from the BU navigation (except those that are unchecked so they are hidden.)
We wanted to create a site map in this manner.
]]>I have been using your wonderful plugin for quite some time now. However, since day one, links never ever show up on the menus anywhere. They still appear on the page ordering screen however.

Upgraded to WordPress 4.6 and the BU-Navigation and BU-Section-Editing plugins no longer render the navigation tree to re-order and assign permissions.
]]>I was getting a bunch of 502 errors and WPEngine said that this plugin was hitting admin-ajax for every page in the site each time a post.php page loaded. we are at 400+ pages, so it was a lot of hits. I had to shut it off.
]]>I have over 700 pages in my site.
On one of my menu sections, I have it broken it down into nodes, and below that more nodes, followed by the final topics.
I would like an option that I can place a shortcode on a page of a node that would display all of the pages under said node as links.
However, a better option would be to allow Custom Links to have sub pages. Because then I can have node link point back to my site and never display a page if accidentally clicked.
What would be awesome tho, is if you could implement both features.
I can see the first feature being obtained via the edit order page, you would have an extra option in addition edit/view/delete that could be “shortcode” you click that and it gives your shortcode with hash probably that when placed on a page, would show an unordered list of links with hierarchy below that node.
]]>I use this with BU Section Editing and it would greatly improve usability.
]]>My WordPress has disabled editing CSS code, which I would have to do for this much-needed plug-in to work. It apparently is not compatible with my Causes theme, which I do not want to change. Can anyone suggest alternatives?
What themes is this plugin compatible with we do not have to go through trialand error?
]]>I need this plugin because I have navigation issues on my page menu. But I cannot even fing this on my dashboard, much less configure it. What use is this?
]]>Widget is not displaying on the front end as well as in the widget admin area. I am still trying to debug why. Seeing no php errors. Only thing was a deprecation warning about the widget constructor. I switched it and still no luck.
]]>I am running into a problem where activating the BU plugin will make edit fields (the one line fields, not the larger text areas) in the admin panel unresponsive. I can no longer edit page titles and other parameters that use this type of field.
Browser is Chrome (up to date) and WP/BU Navigation are also up to date.
Thanks for your help.
]]>Ran into a weird issue where IE9 can’t use the visual editor (and has issues with media uploads) when this plugin is enabled. The console shows a javascript error in the JSTree library on line 2, character 108. Disabling the plugin allows use of the visual editor and the media uploads but we kind of need the plugin for our sub-section navigation.

Hey I’m not sure if I’m using this right. Changing the label or visibility doesn’t seem to do anything. What exactly are those for? It seems like it was to change the label if the page was in a menu displayed on the frontend, but it doesn’t.
Also in the BU Admin Page there is a way to add links. How are those used? It would be cool if they created “invisible” page placeholders to link to external url’s. Similar to how Page Links To works.
]]>The Edit Order page does not allow for subpages — I can change order to my heart’s content, but not the hierarchy. If I deactivate plugin and create subpages then re-activate, Edit Order shows the new arrangement, but any page move causes it to go to the top level.
Since this is all in the admin section, I presume theme has no effect.
When navigation menu items are created and saved, which php file is responsible for this?
When I create menu items, I am able to enter a URL / “Link Text” (which usually is the name the menu will display). I am concerned with the file that takes the url / “Link Text” and stores them.
I have been searching through the plugin files and have no been able to locate it. I believe I have skipped over it and was just curious if someone could lead me in the right direction.
]]>First of all I wanted to say that this plugin is extremely easy to use and I would recommend this to anyone.
I noticed that the navigation panel (if it is significantly long) will not display the lower items if the wordpress page is not “big” enough (height specifically).
When the wordpress page is larger all the panels display correctly and work great!
I was wondering if there was any fix for this? I was unsure if there was an automated solution to increase the page length?
(I understand I could manually increase the size of each page in order to fix this, but I wanted to check if someone else ran into this and there was another solution available)
Any information would be appreciated, thanks for a great plugin!

]]>Hello!
First I want to say: Great Plugin! It’s exactly what I need for my current project.
BU Naviation works fine on all my pages but not for
Single Event View (Plugin: Events Manager)
and
Single Product View (Plugin: Woocommerce)
Maybe you could help me to solve the problem.
If you need more detailed information, please let me know.
Thank you!

]]>When I try to view a page from the edit order screen it skips the root section returing a 404 error. For example:
If I click to view subitem 1 it will point the domain to: domain.com/item1/subitem1
Instead of: domain.com/section1/item1/subitem1
I have republished the pages and the menu multiple times. Any ideas?
]]>If you rename a page, and then click move page it will always show the old name of the page instead of the updated one. Very confusing as with a lot of pages it becomes near impossible to remember what the original names of all pages were.
Thanks
]]>I have been having problems adding a link as a navigation item. Everything seems to be working up until I ‘Publish Changes’. After that the link items are removed. Are there any known quirks with this? I have tested it with BU section editor as the only other enabled plugin. I have tested it on Twenty Twelve theme and still no dice.
Thanks,
Peter
Nice plugin! I like the visual drag-n-drop interface. Unfortunately, this plugin doesn’t work with Custom Post Types (CPTs). I looked for some plugin settings to see if this was an option, but it wasn’t. Will CPTs be supported in the future?
Also, it would be cool to filter the pages based on their status (Public, Private, etc.), and if there are any pages in the trash.
Thanks!
