One of the plugins that I install first of all every time. Easy and does exactly what I want.

My site was attacked from three months day and night. I installed Brute Protect and within minutes, no further attack.
This plugin is now part of Jetpack, but it will be operational until 31 December 2015.
Thanks and Good job.

works great and gets better the more it is used by others.

Before WP 4.2 BruteProtect would not only protect but would actually stop the attack on my site just like the details advertised. One of my other security plugins also stops the attack and logs it, would show the attack on my site stopping as in no more log entries. But after WordPress 4.2 BruteProtect has apparently stopped diverting the bruteforce attack to the Automattic server farm because my security log just keeps growing with the attackers records. So far nothing productive has occurred from my support ticket on this issue.

This was a great plugin and nice to see it as part of the Jetpack plugin now.
Nice work Automattic in picking this up.

Great Plugin this plugin can not miss in your wordpress plugin collection...

Nice idea. Message in Red says BruteProtect will conflict with Yoast SEO XML Sitemap.

This is a must use plugin. I install it on every site that goes live under my watch. Well done all involved. Heres hoping you all die rich and happy!

This WP plugin is a great idea – crowd-sourced protection against BruteForce attacks. Of course, the comprehensiveness of the database of attackers depends on everyone installing the plugin – but that’s how crowd-sourcing works. So come on guys – do your bit and install it ??

Every time I install wordpress I run a certain series of actions. On of the first, ever since I’ve found out about bruteprotect is adding BP as a plugin. On every website I install for my customers I’ve installed it, as well as on my own websites.
This plugin should be included as a standard plugin for WordPress! By far the most usefull plugin ever.

Thank you for this plugin.

Plt maintain the availability of this plugin for the people who do not want any Jetpack or for those or the site does not work well with Jetpack. Or integrate it directly on WP, I think it would be the best solution for all.

Brilliant! For the last few weeks my VPS has been grinding to a halt because of brute force bot attacks. Despite installing various plugins the problems continued. Then I installed BruteProtect across all sites and since then I’ve not had a single warning from WordFence and everything has been running smoothly. Excellent plugin, thanks guys ??

What a time waster to deal with those stupid attacks; what a waste of adrenaline!
…not anymore so it seems.
Just installed it today for 11 websites.
I like the idea of having a centralized database/blacklist, shared with all users.
Centralized updates is a great idea; not sure yet if I can trust this without manually checking the updated websites.

Started blocking IP addresses from day one I installed it.

Easy-to-use protection. I also like the way it keeps tabs on my hosting service, too. It sends me an email whenever my site goes down, then it sends me another message when the site goes back up.

I’m always amazed by how many attempts BruteProtect stops without even a hint of a performance hit.
The ability to setup automated plugin updates across my connected sites is also a nice plus.

An essential plug-in for dealing with the inevitable onslaught of brute force log-ins.
‘BruteProtect Shield is a cloud-powered brute force attack prevention plugin and the best protection against botnet attacks. It is now and will always be 100% free.’

Was using an IP blocker that started slowing down the sites because of the sheer number of attacks. Switched to BP and the performance issues went away.

Great community based botnet prevention.
If only this plugin could be extended to also protect DDOS on index.php and XMLRPC.php (both of which appear to get hammered) that would be amazing!

Update BruteProtect to 2.1 and can not login in administration : obtain ERROR 500.
Remove BruteProtect directly in database and all is ok.
Uninstall BruteProtect.

I’m not sure what the previous reviewer, phatwp, is talking about. This does NOT slow down your website, it effectively kills all the annoying bot attacks in an instant with no effect on website performance.
Works hand-in-hand with Wordfence, I couldn’t be happier. Props to the devs.

Thank you.

I’m using Wordfence to inform me about brute force attacks to my admin. Since yesterday I started getting around 200 messages per hour about blocked attempts to log to the admin. Tried pretty much everything before using BruteProtect and no luck.
Glad that I’ve found it, so those annoying attempts are somewhat limited or stopped.

This plugin is the best solution yet for preventing brute force login attacks on WP sites. I’ve tried various other solutions (.htaccess, limit login attempts plugin, etc) but the brute forcers have found ways around all of those.
In addition, the team at bruteprotect is responsive with their support and actively working to improve the plugin. Keep up the good work!!!

Their “phone home” server had some glitches, but they jumped right on a fix and upgrades to avoid future problems. It has been rock solid until this one glitch, so I expect it will be reliable in the future.
Edit update: All seems to be very stable now, have not had any issues for 9 months and and quite impressed haw few spurious login attempts get through now…
<s>The error routine needs to be a bit more robust – i.e. if the server is down, it needs to fail more gracefully. I was able to log into my site after returning to the log-in form a second time – the failsafe did not appear at first.</s>
Otherwise a great concept and has reduced the deluge of hack attempts to a tiny trickle.

I have had no issues out of this plug in. It does what it says it will do and adds a layer of protection. I tested on one site and have since added it to all of the sites I use.

Stops bots cold. Just install it and forget it. A no brainer

Not much to say, other than the fact that this seems to work, and hasn’t caused any problems with my other plug-ins. A nice product!
