The breadcrumbs module caused rendering issues (incomplete rendering due to PHP error abort) before, which could only be resolved by temporarily deactivating the module.

This has been fixed, but after the recent update to 1.5.1 I noticed that articles are correctly displayed, but special characters (umlaut etc.) in blogs are incorrectly displayed.
It seems that articles presented as blogs are converted from latin1 to utf8, despite already being encoded in utf8 (e.g., “über” is displayed as “??ber” in blogs, but correctly in all other elements.)

With the Divi Breadcrumbs module deactivated, all content (complete articles and blogs) are correctly rendered.

After recent updates of PHP to 8.3, WP to 6.6.1 and WooCommerce to 9.1.4 I am constantly getting PHP compatibiliy error that is being recorder in error log:

PHP Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property LWP_DiviBreadcrumbs::$icon is deprecated in /home/tahoce47/public_html/wp-content/themes/Divi/includes/builder/class-et-builder-element.php on line 1425

Why would this be? Is plugin not compatible with the PHP 8.3 or something else? Any suggestions?

This plug-in has worked great but I wonder if it is possible to cleanly remove the code when disabling the plug-in?

Also, the Blog Module when used in grid mode seems to show the breadcrumbs source code for lots of blog articles. Is it an issue with DIVI or the plug-in?

I use The Events Calendar plugin on my site. On the organizers page, I’ve inserted a breadcrumbs. In the breadcrumbs, the “Responsable de cours” link should redirect to the previous page, but the link redirects to the current page (same URL). How can I make this the URL of the previous page?

I am using this excellent little plugin for additional navigation on the blog pages for this site. The blog page is used as an topical archive for articles. The only problem is that the “home” link in the breadcrumb takes the visitor back to the landning page. Ideally it should take them to the blog page (https://dev.fmcompetence.se/kompetensportalen/).
How can that be done?

I am creating a Multilanguage site (Greek/English) and I want to use Breadcrumbs Divi Module on certain pages.

My problem is that the home link in the module, is always point to the default language home page (Greek in this case) no matter what language I am.

How can I make Breadcrumbs Divi Module to be aware of the current language and act accordingly?

I recently came across your Breadcrumb plugin and it looks and works great! There’s only one thing I stumbled at, the Breadcrumb chain automatically includes “/category/” segment in it and as the result takes visitors to a different than anticipated page. Could that segment be removed?

I set up the breadcrumb – but it was showing “project” – ie:

Find a course > project > accounting

I wanted to remove the word “project”, but keep the breadcrumb structure… so ideally it would be:

Find a course > accounting [faculty] > course name

ie: Find a course > accounting > National Diploma in…

– so Divi advised me to put this code in to remove project :

When plugin is active divi builder does not load.

After a while debugging I find out that the Divi breadcrum works fine.

But with the Link /page/2/?et_blog

You when I click on the pagination link a get an internal server error. Without the module I did not get the error:

Also a question: how breadcrumb knows what is the right path to the current website? Does it take it from menu hierarchy or it might be custom selected?

I moved a site from a dev version to the live site. Straight copy of the database and everything. However, on the live site, the Breadcrumbs Divi Module no longer appears in the list of available Divi modules. And all that displays where I had placed it is the shortcode, like this:

How do I get the Breadcrumbs module to work again? I’ve reinstalled the plugin multiple times, but nothing seems to work. This is the only thing holding me up from launching the site at the moment, so please, don’t ignore this request for help.

There is a Bug: Post excerpts does show Breadcrumb Shortcode, CSS, HTML when Building Cetegory Sites with Divi theme Builder.

This has to be fixed. It ruin every Category Page.

Title says it all. The developer is not maintaining this module at all or providing any support for more than 5 months (probably longer, but that’s more than long enough to abandon this module).

First, thanks for creating this module. I like breadcrumbs, and this plugin is easy enough to use.

I have two things about this module that would improve it.

1. The icon (say for the home icon) always displays, even if no category is present/listed. So on the home page, the small home icon I have selected always displays.
2. This same icon is not linked. Would be useful if it was linked along with the HOME text (or whatever is specified by the user in the plugin), and would therefore also change color to match the link color specified in the site.

My question is which string is called by the Divi Breadcrumbs plugin.

I have several examples:

For custom post types it seems like the singular string is used. I created one named “Releases” and the breadcrumb text is “Release” even if I set the title of the releases archive page to “Releases”.

In a WooCommerce shop I’m creating my problem is that in front of the name of the product category (e.g. “Merchandise”) the word “Category” is added so that the breadcrumb is displayed as “SHOP > Category: Merchandise”.

Is there a possibility with a simple code snippet to tell the plugin which string should be used?

I hope that I have been able to clarify what my problem is ??

Hello, is it possible to add translation options for plugin on texts like:
‘Search query for: ‘
‘Error 404’
‘( Page %s )’

It can be done with changes in divi-breadcrumbs.php on line 282, 287, 293 (adding langstring ‘lwp-divi-breadcrumbs’), like:

if ( is_search() ) {
        $breadcrumb_trail = __( 'Search query for: ', 'lwp-divi-breadcrumbs' ) . $before . get_search_query() . $after;
    }

It would be easier to translate with plugins like Loco Translate and there would be no problem after updates – when some custom code for translations is overwritten by update.

If it’s not possible – is there any other option to get permanent translation that’ll not dissapear after plugin update?

It appears to be calling a function that doesn’t exist and displays an error message panel.

I don’t expect a response because I think the support forum for this once awesome plugin is no longer monitored, hopefully the author is well, but here goes…

When you disable this plugin, it leaves source code visible on every page that it was active on, even if you clear all your caches like Divi builder, Cloudflare, Redis etc. I’m stuck with it for now as I need it, it’s broken but I can’t get rid of it!

There W3C site CSS Validator picks up an error too, the gcid string shown should be a valid color:

Hi,

I’ve been designing a specific page through the theme builder, but when I added the breadcrumbs it is not showing when viewing the page. It shows when you are editing it but not when you view the page live.

The breadcrumb work to an extent and can be formatted well, but It’s missing one level of my link hierarchy, in this case, the back page “Ferrari” where the page lists only Ferraris as opposed to the brands which lists Individual brands only.

The breadcrumb only picks up
Home > Portfolio > Brands > Specific car post

When it should be:
Home > Portfolio > Brands > Ferrari > Specific car post

Thanks for the plugin which I find very useful.
I notice that the plugin seems to be causing a lot of errors to appear in the debug.log file which is making it very difficult to debug my own code and is making the debug.log file rather large.

I am having an issue with the Breadcrumbs plugin in that on the page above, if you click on ‘Inspiration’ in the breadcrumb it links to the same page (https://wbc1.otiscreative.co.uk/inspiration/kirsten-lord/) and not the Inspiration homepage (https://wbc1.otiscreative.co.uk/inspiration/).
