why cant the board be reduced to show just 32teams or 16teams even? MUST IT ALWAYS SHOW THE 64 TEAM BOARD?
…
sometimes i wonder what was going through a “plugin authors” mind, when i see some wordpress plugins.. i just go wow ..
why must it be a 64 man tournament board? .. what if people want to host tournaments for just 8 people/teams?
very annoying!

Install was easy. Bought the Pro data feed. Updates every hour.
It works. Everyone at work is pretty happy. I put it together in about 3 hours from fresh server install. Most of that time inputting in brackets. The actual time to set up and install BracketPress was probably 15 mins. I didn’t think about putting up a bracket tracker until after March Madness started.
Any how. Everything works great.
I wish the pro data feed had an option to update immediately after game ends. This might probably be difficult with overtimes. But maybe update at 2:00 hrs, 2:15 hrs, and 2:30 hrs after game start for each game.

Complicated, no documentation or guidance on required components to use this bracket app completely, and it DID NOT WORK THIS YEAR. What else can you say, if you want something that is vetted and actually works, this is not it. If you are willing to experiment and don’t mind manually scoring in the end while reaching out to users to have them redo stuff before, after, and during the tournament, then go for it, but you’d be crazy to pay for it in 2015. Paying customers were shafted with no communication, no realistic fixes, and should seek refunds at this point from their merchants. Expect the same complexity, lack of testing, treatment and results next year, because they abandoned support during the tournament. Any outfit that that goes silent on its users when the need is the greatest can no longer be trusted. #BracketFail

The interface and set up are fabulous, and we were very excited to run our pool online this year.
Unfortunately the plug in was riddled with issues from Selection Sunday on, and ultimately ended up not being able to score the tournament! The plug in did not know which teams should be in the final four. There was no fix available in time for the conclusion of the tournament. The solution proposed by the developers was basically to manually add up the scores, which I ended up doing. I uninstalled the plug in and made my own leader board. It was a NIGHTMARE for my pool of 80ish people.
I really WANT to like this plug in, but the bottom line is it wasn’t ready for the tournament this year. It fell apart mid tournament, and no fix was available in time. I really hope the developers iron out the issues and continue the project going forward.

Started out great, support was spot on.
Then the problems started. I bought “PRO” so I would not have to manually update. Updates were not happening, after a couple of days They got that fixed by building a new plugin.I was a bit irritated but glad we found resolution.
Next the brackets went all haywire for a lot of customers. The support forums at BracketPress erupted with help requests, too much to explain, but the brackets were basically showing wrong teams winning, and then placing the same team in multiple divisions, essentially going up against itself in the final four when the actual team was crying in their milk at home because they were eliminated. Days and Days went by with no responses from support. Finally in the 11th hour before the next round, a response that gave a really really bad work around. They basically told everyone that we have to score and close our brackets, then get in touch with ALL our bracket holders and have them “Re-pick” their final four selections. Then we would have to MANUALLY add the 2 scores together. Did not seem fair to everyone involved in my opinion. This software was on my website and it was my friends playing, and this made me look like a fool having a broke down, faulty bracket system.
There is no way to test this software before you use it, and it appears they don’t have the ability to test either. STAY AWAY, someone else will come up with a better plugin.

Once I read the tutorial that’s linked on their blog, I had no problems at all. Super helpful, they helped me adapt it to my needs. Great support – great product – great people!

I installed and tested this plugin today. The set-up is a bit time consuming if you’re using the free version since you have to add dummy data by hand for 64 team names, but once you have that, the plugin will let you randomly fill in all the data for your dummy brackets (by hitting the randomize button). I love the fact that this plugin is free, too. It’s the ultimate freemium model. Do a lot of work by hand for free, or upgrade to let the plugin’s service do the work for you. If you do want to go with the free version, I wrote a quick guide on how to get it up and running: https://www.fredmarion.com/how-to-use-bracketpress-for-wordpress-for-free/

Bracketpress saved the day. No more PDF pools, no more paper pools with registration boxes. In literally minutes I had a great opportunity for my radio stations to run an online contest! If you are a media group looking for a revenue opportunity, this is it!!!!
Thanks Bracketpress!!

Good support. Great idea. Rolling it out just in time for March and all of the NCAA fun. Will be going pro on this to save time across multiple sites.

This plugin is working very nicely. I will be buying the Pro update so I can take advantage of the automatic data feed and scoring updates. Great support, too!

Disclaimer: I’m a developer of the plugin.
BracketPress is a great way to build out your own NCAA March Madness Division 1 Men’s Basketball tournament Pool.
You get your own site, your own branding and can do anything like with the system.
Again, I’m partial, but I do think it’s a great plugin and ma particularly proud of the way it’s turned out.
