when the user maps display on the buddypress members directory, it displays each member as a separate map. any way to display all of the users on one map? probably i’m missing something obvious….

Great plugin, but I’m having layout issues in the Group Member and Member directory settings…

When I set the Group Members list in UPM settings to
bp_group_members_list_item_action

The maps are displayed to the right as expected, but the height of the members doesn’t change to accommodate the maps, so the maps overlap.

Similarly, with the Members directory set to
bp_directory_members_actions

Instead of overlapping maps, I get a scrollbar on the right.

Would I change the CSS for the plugin, or is this theme specific?

Hi there. I am wondering if anyone might be able to help with an issue I am having. I have User Profile Map working great with one exception. I essentially have 2 members pages as I am using the BP User Account Type Plugin which uses a secondary members page with subsequent sub pages based on the account type. So in my case the pages are /member with sub pages /member/family and /member/jobseeker. My issue is that the map appears on the standard /members page but I can’t seem to get it to display on the /member page. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Hello!

i’ve installed the bp user map pluggin on my wordpress/buddypress site. And i have a call stack error … I’m using the Buddypress version 2.2.4 + wordpress 3.5.1 , i use my own theme but i’ve checked on the buddypress default theme and also on the twentytwelve default theme and i have the same errors.
the pluggins i use: Akismet, buddypress compatibility, bbpress,s2Member framework,Buddypress rate forum posts and buddypress media.

the error that is returned :

Hi,

Is there a way to make the plugin use two (or more) extended profile fields (City + Country at least) to localize the member? I’d like the map localise someone in Paris if he typed “Paris” in city field and “France” in country field.

Don’t want to only use the “city” field for BP User Profile Map because some cities have the same name but are not in the same country.

Hi,

This plugin would be the ideal solution for my needs if it had the functionality to overlay polylines from a KML file or similar.
Is there any alteration to the CSS code that I could make to allow me to link to a URL of a KML file stored remotely to allow me to overlay my own lines on the map?

I’m using BP User maps on my buddypress site but I’m asking my users to display their location as a name rather than a postcode or something. So one of my users has put in “East and West Sussex and Kent” which is obviously rather over-described because the location is actually more of a catchment area. However it has pinpointed somewhere in USA. Is there some way to limit the country the results are in? Even when i changed the order to “kent and East and west sussex” it still found a location in USA instead of UK. Perhaps google uk maps instead of using .com could do it, is there a way to alter the plugin?

Would be super cool to have a map in each group showing locations of members, hopefully by using miniature profile pictures as map-markers. Clicking on the marker should show the name, profile photo, and maybe 1-2 other pertinent details, and clicking on name should take to member profile.

Is it possible to display all members locations in BuddyPress using a shortcode? It works for me when I use the tick box in the settings, but I’d rather place this map on a unique page.

This is a minor issue but needs to be looked at.

There is a conflict between your plugin and the event manager plugin with the map function not working in the Event Manager.

Your Plugin works but the Event Manager Maps will not.

I had to deactivate your plugin as I need the map feature very much on the Events. If you get some time to look at this and can work it out with them please let me know I really would like to put the map back on the user profiles. Also I could not figure out how to enable the maps for the groups. If you have a tutorial for this please leave the link. I could not find it. Thanks you very much Hugo your great!

I am sorry I don’t have the error code for you. But I removed the module to make site work again. I will try to recreate the issue later tonight to post it for you. When less people are online for us. Sorry I could not have the error code for you at this time. Just too much traffic as the site.

Love your module though. I reinstalled 1.3 and it is working just fine.

In all other cases the plugin seems to be working as it should. When I go to my friends tab or to the friends tab of another member, all friends listed show the location address of the profile owner.

So if my location is X all members listed in my friends tab also show their location as X rather then their location.

Any thoughts on how to trouble shoot?

I tried two times, but it is not workingcompletly.

It would be very nice to have a possibility to select a custom field name, instead of just “Location” like “Postal Code” for example.
