I had been using BPT to setup members(authors) directories and site-specific activity streams on secondary blogs. And it still works this way. But with this 1.7 update, I wanted to see what I can to move away from using BPT and just call directly the JS and Ajax I need to power the load more activity button and make the friending and commenting continue to work. I’m able to get the css…but i’m unclear about the rest. Any help?

As of BuddyPress 1.7, theme compatibility was added. This means that BuddyPress should work out-of-the-box with your WordPress theme.
So if you’re new to BuddyPress, this plugin is no longer relevant.
If you mistakenly installed BP Template Pack, follow this guide to remove BP Template Pack:

]]>We are using a Theme called Delicate News. After running through the Buddy Press Themes activation and compatibility steps, whenever I click on any of the website pages, I get a HTTP 500 error.
Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the webserver logs (yet) but I was hoping maybe this happened to someone else and they fixed it!
I guess I would just try to delete all the files that got installed and hope that restores the website to working order.

The home page is the only page that displays without error, click on any other link and the page won’t display.
On a build site https://condo-ca.com I installed BuddyPress Template Pack. In the step by step it allowed me to skip step 2 but on step 3 it asked me to check site — I see no BuddyPress activity bar at all other than the regular WP bar. This is not an alignment issue, it simply isn’t there. What to do?

]]>Hey guys…everything looks great besides the edit profile page. there is some additional coding in the edit form or something that’s breaking my template code. You’ll have to sign up for a quick account on my site (I’m sorry!) to see the issue at hand, or you can check out this screen shot…but I doubt that will tell you much.
Again, it’s just the Edit page on the Profile tab….

]]>I have updated my theme – which broke buddypress. So I wanted to run this plugin again to fix everything…
but it always starts at step three. I need it to start at the part where it moves the template files (the begining).
And then I saw this….
Reset Setup
If you would like to run through the setup process again please use the reset button (you will start at step three if you haven’t removed the template files)
So what does that mean exactly? Could someone tell me what files to edit or move or delete to get this plugin to run from the start again?

I’ve just installed the template pack and it mostly seems to have worked OK. I just need to reformat my blogs page and registration page a bit.
However I don’t want to do that right now so decided to deactivate the plugin. Unfortunately, it didn’t go back to the way it was, so it seems I will have to reformat anyway.
Could you provide steps to deactivate, eg were there files or templates added that now need to be removed?

]]>BuddyPress 1.7 is coming very soon. If you are thinking of adding BuddyPress to your site and your current theme DOES NOT have BuddyPress compatibility then you might want to wait until BuddyPress 1.7.
BP 1.7 introduces WP theme compatibility. You will no longer need to use this plugin to get BuddyPress to work on a WP theme.
BuddyPress 1.7 will use your theme’s page.php to display content. No more editing the the template files to match up to your theme’s files. You will be able to switch themes without fear it will break your BuddyPress pages.

i tried many methods, one of them was changing the color of the button in the bp.css file line 646…changed #ffffff to #A81010
but this didnt solve the problem!

Everything works fine except the Buddypress sub headers are not aligned properly. Please could you advise where I need to change the code and in which files. The Activity stream found on this page is missing the text area required to make a comment/reply. In fact,when I do press reply/comment the page simply refreshes itself. (the issue is the same on a blog entry).
However, if I disable template pack CSS, this works okay, but then formatting is totally incorrect.
It’s like the functionality to comment/reply is not loading.
Any help gratefully received!

]]>Just thought you should also know that BP Template Pack breaks SSL. We were getting SSL unencrypted content errors on all front-end SSL pages. Even those that aren’t use BuddyPress.
After a bunch of jigging, it was only resolved when removing this plug-in.

It basically explains the problems I’m having in that users are ejected from my site when they do ANYTHING in BP 1.6.1 that uses AJAX. This includes posting updates, typing a name to send a PM, deleting a BP post or update, commenting… You get the idea.
I’m not sure if this is because of the this plug-in or the way that Catalyst Connect works, but I’ve got feelers out with them on the issue as well.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? Super Admins are not having a problem. They work as they should, but every other network user is ejected every time.
Please help. I’m dying. ??

I followed the instructions, and got buddypress to fit in with my template, great. The problem I have is now my activity stream is double posting updates.
This stops when I deactivate the plugin, but obviously that renders my buddypress install a mess.
Any ideas?
