In bp-groupblog.php the following code causes a hard crash in PHP 8:
case 'Site name must be at least 4 characters.':
if( strlen( $result['blogname'] ) < $checks[minlength] && !is_super_admin() )
$newerrors->add('blogname', __("Blog name must be at least " . $checks[minlength] . " characters", 'groupblog'));
break;
This is due to ‘minlength’ being treated as an undefined constant. In PHP 8 undefined constants now result in an error (https://github.com/php/php-src/blob/4c0c7f1fd8fc4270703d0badff151115fda9f015/UPGRADING#L35). Here, $checks[minlength] was presumably meant to be $checks[‘minlength’]…

Like other people on this forum, after install of groupblogs there is no admin visible on back end or front end. Where is it supposed to be?
I see another thread here that says something about multi-side admin but I’m not using multi-site and this plugin is supposed to work.
Where’s the admin?

Nice plugin, and my question is whether it support for MU sites?
For example, I have mu site, one is Magazine for user post articles, one is for buddypress, and another one is shopping… and this for balance press…
how we can associate the buddypress group on buddypress site with the user blog on Magazine sites, surely we can activate buddypress network wide, but “Buddypress Goupblog” support for MU deploy?
Any comment and reply on this would be highly appreciated, thanks, nice day.

]]>I restricted creation of site to some certain user role, but grant access to for group creation to all, but this plugin makes it possible for everyone who can create group to create site thereby bypassing all other restrictions.
For those that has not already created a site, it gives them option to select the base site as their site, of which they do not have admin access to. One ought to have access to select a site which he has admin access level/role to.
The pages that appears on the group are all that are created on the selected site no matter their settings, index/no-index. It ought to be some selected ones. There is no need for login/registration, activation and some other pages of this kind to appear on the group.
With so many others, but the author is not responsive in handling issues.
]]>This plugin work fine, but it works beyound recomendation.
I have S2member plugin, which I use to set some limit in blog creation to a certain level of users. But group creation is open to all members. But this plugin allow everyone access to create blog through group creation.
I made a new installation without S2member, which I disable blog creation totally, but allow members to create group, but this plugin, allows the members to create blogs as well through group creation.
What I want is for this plugin to observe existing settings. If the user role/level is not allow to create blog, on the proccess of creating group, the blog creation should be disable, or better still, not displaying the option at all.
If the user has access to create one blog, and he/she has already created one, he/she will be allowed just to add the already created blog, instead of giving him/her option to create new blog.
Hey
I installed this plugin on my wordpress but no effect on the site, no settings, and whatsoever.
I am using wordpress 4.3.1, multi user, WPLMS theme.
After installing the plugin, it appears on the Network Admin plugin, where I have an option to network activate, but does not appear on the site admin plugin.
I network activated the plugin from network admin side, but it does not have any effect on the whole site. It simply look as if there is nothing installed and activated.
What should I do about this please

1. I am trying to use this plugin to allow the Buddypress group owner to add their own multisite blog to the group, not anyone else’s as this leads to spammy duplicate content. Is this possible?

]]>Hi,
Thanks for the useful plugin.
As listed in the following, BP Groupblog is known to have the PHP4 constructor issue, which displays when WP_DEBUG is set to true

Will there be an update to this plugin to resolve this?
Thanks.

We’d like clicks to keep the user in the group.
Can you shed any light / suggest how we can get this working correctly?

This does not happen with twenty fifteen, so assuming it is some special interaction between groupblog our this theme (Boss, by Buddyboss).
