Just FYI, I am using buddypress 3, bp-nouvaeu theme and the list of avatar selections does not appear anywhere in order for me to select them.

]]>Hi everyone,
I’m sad to announce i will drop the support of this plugin within a month. I posted on my blog to ask people willing to adopt this plugin, so hopefully it will perhaps be supported by someone else.
Apologies to users of this plugin, i need my full time for a personal project. I hope you’ll understand. Many thanks to all of you for your feedbacks and reviews since this plugin’s birth.
Here’s a link explaining my choice in detail on my personal blog french / english (google translated)
You have a question? Please add it as a comment of the blog post.
]]>Everything is present backend and all settings are selected. Have checked DB to make sure everything is correct. Was working when I first installed a couple of months back. Have disabled all plugins + uninstalled and reinstalled but no option appears in user profile.
Using latest version of WP and BP. Tried different themes including twenty sixteen but nothing. url reads: https://www.xxxx.xx/members/xxx/profile/change-avatar/ but only standard ‘Change Profile Photo’ options are available. Any clues?
Hi,
Thanks for your fantastic work and it’s really perfect.
But I just met a problem that when I upgraded to WordPress 4.4.2, the BP Avatar Suggestions shows the error like “There was a problem while requesting suggestions” and it couldn’t show the avatar lists.
Could you check that? Thanks a million.
]]>Hi,
My future website combine social components (buddypress/bbpress), e-commerce (via woocommerce), and multilingual.
Woocommerce multilingual require Wpml-media. And wpml-media… makes avatar suggestions not working anymore (unable to upload on admin any avatar suggestion).
Is there any chance to get this working ? Or is there any alternative to this plugin ?
Thank you,
Fran?ois
]]>Hello, forgive me if his has been covered in another topic, but I haven’t seen the info in the setup or FAQ.
Is there recommended sizes for the uploaded images? I found lower resolution images do not show up once selected. But larger test images are not square in dimension, and therefore I cannot crop or change the image. This is fine, as long as I know the correct size to upload. What is this?
Many thanks for exactly what I wanted in a plugin.
]]>Great plugin, thanx for the work !
There’s only one thing i regret.
When a user is already using an avatar from the suggestions and that he want to change it, he have to first click on his previous to “delete it” and only after select a new one. There’s no possibility to skip this step ?
Thank you,
Fran?ois
]]>After updating from 1.1.0 to 1.3.0 the plugin doesn’t show old suggestions, It show only avatars that were uploaded after the update.
]]>this may not be the best place to post this request but likewise this place may also not be the best place for this plugin ??
“BP Avatar Suggestions” is so fantastic it should be in BuddyPress core.
any chance of this ?
Hi, Fantastic plugin! It works like a charm. However, my users do not know what to do because they have to scroll past the avatar suggestions in order to view the instructions.
How can I move the messages to the top rather than the bottom?
?? Eric
]]>Hello!
Page inspect says it’s there, but no data is being fed to it, why? I deactivated everything, and reverted to default template, still just this, at the end of the profile page:
<img class=”avatar avatar-suggestion-item” src=”{{ data.sizes.thumbnail.url }}” data-suggestionid=”{{data.id}}” />
]]>So….what’s up with this new “required post” that I can’t edit or delete, that sits in draft form forever and ever while I use this plugin? I’m really not liking it much. I’ve never seen a plugin that required a post to sit in drafts forever…it’s even there after deactivation, which means the plugin does not clean up after itself…and for what purpose? Feels like a tracking device or something….
]]>Hello, i’m french, i had download the plugin and install it.
Back, everything goes well. I sent avatars easily.
Front, i see this message : Un problème est survenu pendant le chargement des suggestions.
I test everything : switch theme to twentyfourteen, disable all plugins unless buddypress and bp avatar suggestions. No effect.
I don’t know what to do.
Thanks in advance.
]]>Cant describe why this doesn’t work but just on your plugin the images will not upload, drag and drop doesnt work, selecting 1 or 40 files doesnt work, all other upload plugins work fine.
]]>Hi there,
I have looked around and I see there is an old plugin that allows setting Avatars for sites but like I said, it’s an old plugin. Just not very sure of it’s security.
I am wondering, since BP allows users to create sites if it would be possible to add a setting in the profile area when sites are being tracked in BP to set an Avatar for each site belonging to each member via suggestions? The reason I ask is because there is a site directory in BP where all sites show up but with BP it seems only the site admin avatar is used for each site. It would be nice, like with groups to allow an avatar to be set.
Would that be possible?
]]>well this plugin works great but when I select Avatar, it repeatedly displays
” user changed their profile picture “ in the user/member activity. I tested in other sites too, same issue..
I have read your other answers for this issue, but I cannot go back to a default theme to try and get it to work. My site is “designed” and I can’t lose what I have done.
Is there a way to get the avatars I have created to show up on the front end for my users to chose from. When they sign up they get a default avatar, but seems they can’t change it to a different one. Only when I went it and clicked ” Allow registered members to upload avatars” could I go in and delete the avatar. Then I unclicked it, and the avatars showed up for them to chose from.
I need to be able to have the user delete the default avatar and chose a custom avatar I created.
My test site is https://www.wptest.missoandfriends.com if you want to see how the avatar suggestions is not working.
Thanks for your time.
Hermine
Hi.
Thanks for the great plugin!!!
I tried it with the latest Buddypress.
I noticed 2 bugs:
1. On /members/user/profile/change-avatar/ page. By clicking on a avatar, the admin-ajax.php file runs as many times as the avatars total number.
This in case of many avatars (I tried with more than 50) brings the page to “stall”.
2. On the members/user/profile/ page a javascript error occurs, when the plugin is active. The error is:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'replace' of undefined
.
Thanks in advance
Lena.
I installed the plugin and checked the settings but no matter what I do I cannot seem to get Avatar Suggestions to display on the front end for the user.
Using WordPress: 4.1.1
Latest version of FireFox
Any ideas?
Thank you for making this plugin, it is a great idea. I would love to force the user to select or upload an avatar at account register page, but this is a good secondary.
I would like to use this in conjunction with the Avatar Letter plugin, that way by default, the user gets assigned a letter avatar, but then can go and change their avatar using this plugin to select one.
I’m thinking maybe thats where the conflict is: using the letter plugin and this one?
I tried disabling and uninstalling the letter plugin but no good, the avatar icons still do not show up
]]>wordpress Version WordPress 4.1.1 running EducationTime theme.
Buddypress Version 2.2.1
I have installed and set up the plugin. Also checked “Enable suggestions for users” Option. Yet the front end only shows Choose from List of avatar’s “Text” only but NO images.
I have 18 images under “all” but none of them showing up.
I have created new login accounts and also checked. Even new user with default avatar cannot see them.
]]>Changes i’ve made on the description and change log of the plugin has not been taking in account. So till i fix this, here’s the new video that demonstrates the plugin :
https://vimeo.com/120889562
And the changelog
= 1.2.0 =
* requires WordPress 4.1.
* requires BuddyPress 2.2.
* Uses a draft post to attach the avatar to.
* Improves the interface so that it is now possible to bulk upload and delete avatar suggestions.
* Improves the Avatar suggestions “selector”, so that it can be used even if BuddyPress user uploads are disabled.
* Adds support for Groups avatar suggestions.
Hi..the avatars not showing on user profile..at the backend it working perfectly..but not on frontend..please someone help me..really need this ASAP.
]]>Hello,
A very nice plugin. Any chance it will be updated to support newest version of BP ?
]]>Hello. Does it work in multisite mode? I can’t find the right bp settings to turn it on.
]]>Interesting take, imath.
Not related to this plugin, but seeing your work on Avatars, I just had to ask you to have a look at and consider Avatar placeholders.
]]>Hi,
I really love this plugin !!!
but every time i deselect the “Avatar Uploads” (Allow registered members to upload avatars) in the BP “profile settings”, the avatar suggestions does not show on the front end of website.
is this a bug or is this how it is intended to work ?
To me, i love this plugin because i thought the potential was to help manage avatars.
basically i DO NOT want immature fools to upload dicks, breasts, marijuana etc. etc. hence give them the avatars of my choice.
i know the name is “suggestions”, but can it work the way i am thinking ?
so can i possibly turn off the BP option as mentioned and offer only my avatars ?
any kind assistance in this would be greatly appreciated.
kind regards,
RC.
]]>Hi there, i see that this plugin, which is great, only works if you allow users to upload avatars. I only want users to select the suggestions and not have the ability to also upload.
Is this possible at all?
regards Craig
]]>looking forward to updates,
avatar suggestions can be accessed by clicking on my member name, then, profile > change avatar,
but I would love two other options ;
1 – Clicking on group name, then, > admin > avatar, and having the same option of suggested avatars there. Basically to have the option of suggested avatars for BP groups.
2 – The Ability to have “suggested avatars” when initially registering as a member for a BP community.
kind regards,
RC.
