I’ve tested quite a few Knowledge Base software and this is one of the more easier to use platforms for posting articles and searching for information. Used it for a few organizations that need a way to easily upload content to be shared with internal staff and the public.
If you need a simple, independent knowledge base not connected to a support desk or help desk software then try this.

I installed the BetterDocs plugin on a clean website with no other plugins or themes, and it didn’t set up properly out of the box. Although it has great features, they are not easily customizable.
The default home page and category pages use the post-archive template, which conflicts with having a blog on the same site. There’s an option to customize the home page, but it doesn’t work; you’ll still see the post archives for both the home and category pages.
The social sharing options are limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Pinterest. The feedback smiley faces offer only three default options, which cannot be changed in size or icon type—only color.

BetterDocs is a great plugin for creating and organizing knowledge bases. The support team is quick and helpful. i love their support system and live chat option make easy to communicate with them and issue resolved in no time. It’s a very solid knowledgebase plugin, so if that’s all you’re after, then it’s a 5 star. Their Instant Answer component is lacking some very basic things like the ability to collect additional information (ie. a company name). There’s also no chat or ticket component which I believe would put this over the top.
