I accidently dropped ALL of my tables on WordPress. When I try to reimport them, I get error messages.
This is my ONLY backup and if I can’t use it, I lose my entire blog.
#1064 – You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘CREATE TABLE wptbl_users
(
ID
bigint(20) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment,’ at line 1
I get error messages for this and all other tables I try to bring in. I try to use UFT8.
What is the issue?
]]>Kind of inconvenient if one would find out that half of the DB is missing when they actually need to restore the backup.
]]>I just tried backing up with Bei Fen before giving it to a client and none of the new tables, or tables created by other plugins were backed up. Added to it that the developer is not reachable I’d think this plugin should be removed, as it will leave people believing they have a backup, when in reality they don’t.
]]>Hi there, I was just wondering. The plugin is great but has quite a few bugs. On the web site of the developer (https://david-schneider.name) there is no reply to any question related to the plugin..
I would hate to waste time using this just to learn that it’s an abandoned project. Could anybody enlighten me please?
Thanks, Titus
]]>Under the “news at bei fen” in the wp control panel I’m getting:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::get_item_quantity() in /home/*********/wp-content/plugins/bei-fen/pages/bf-info.php on line 7
All was working before… not sure what went wrong.
Thanks for any ideas.
wp 3.0.1
]]>This error popped up in the right hand side of the Dashboard:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::get_item_quantity() in /home/jewishorganizing/jewishorganizing.org/wp-content/plugins/bei-fen/pages/bf-info.php on line 7
I installed version 1.4.2 using both the automatic install and the Zip file install then clicked on Back-up on the left hand menu and saw the error listed above.
Please let me know what the fix is.
]]>This plugin works like a charm on all of my sites with the exception of one. I receive a message when creating an initial backup that reads, “The database backup folder is not writable. Please check write-permissions!!”
I went back and forth with my ISP for the past two weeks, and unfortunately the developer does not keep his blog updated, so it looks like I will be using a different plugin.
Any suggestions?

Bryan
This could be a great plugin – first backup has worked well and I will see how subsequent backups go over time.
Needs a new Action of DOWNLOAD backup as well.
Other issues are;
1. It has retained the backup files in the backup directory, they have not been deleted once they were zipped.
2. It is backing up core files as well, it should only need to backup site files such as those in wp-content
3. Requires a function where a user can either select what folders to backup and what not to backup.
4. It is also retaining all the db files like the root files, these should be removed once the zip/gz is completed
Cheers
GW
]]>I’ve had this problem happen on two different blogs.
The first backup always seems to work okay. But when I try to do a second backup, I get the message that says the backup was complete but there is no second backup.
I see two directories:
backup-aa6a2
backups
The first directory contains one file index.php which is empty.
The second directory contains another directory (20100705-1801) which is the very first backup I did but no subsequent backup. I expected to see another directory (20100706-1301).
In the Bei Fen control panel, it shows this second backup has been done….but it doesn’t exist.
If I delete the plugin and delete the two backup directories, and reinstall, it works again but as before, only the first backup works. Any attempts to do another backup (using create backup) doesn’t work even though the control panel message is: Backup has been successfully created! 16.75MB.
Using Version 1.4.2
