Hello,
yesterday I installed the ReCaptcha plug-in. It’s doing it’s job but it’s also not letting me into my own blog on WordPress. When I enter my username and (correct) password and click the ‘i’m not a robot’-button, I receive an error which said my captcha value is incorrect.
What can I do about this?
How do I set up public key and private key? The link to “account” where you are supposed to view is a 404 page. We’d like to have recaptcha completely installed and working for our bbpress forum as soon as possible.
Thanks!
Hi there
thanks for your plugin!
If I installed it and added keys, do I need to do step 1:Paste this snippet before the closing
tag on your HTML template: as it says on the recaptcha site? and “Paste this snippet at the end of the where you want the reCAPTCHA widget to app” as well as server side integration? Or is this what the plugin accomplishes for me?
it seems to be working on my registration page.
Thanks!
Hi Pippin,
Nice and very useful plugin.
I would like to know how can I add this captcha into the bbPress registration form. I using a custom template, where you have the fields to e-mail and username to send the password.
Do you have any tutorial to see how?
Thanks
Hello I’ve noticed the captcha doesn’t appear. I’m using google chrome to test it and if I reply to a topic I do not see the captcha. If I try to submit the reply it comes back with ERROR: The words you entered were incorrect.
Any ideas on how to fix this please?
Thanks
Hi Pippin,
1st of all thanks for the plugin. Free stuff is always appreciated!
We just moved our website under https and the plugin stopped working.
I noticed that in recaptchalib.php line 106 for the following function
recaptcha_get_html ($pubkey, $error = null, $use_ssl = false)
The use ssl var had false hardcoded and the only way to fix that was to change it to true.
An option to make this plugin ssl ready would be a good addition if you ever have some time to spare.
For anyone having the same problem, this is the solution.
Thanks!
Hi, Pippin:
Any chance of rewriting this plugin so it supports the new Captcha format:

In any case, this is a very useful plugin. Thanks!

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Hi,
reCaptcha does not appear on Google Chrome. It works on Safari, Firefox, IE.
Plugin Version: 1.1
bbPress Version: 2.2.2

hello. i hope this is a simple fix. i am currently using WordPress version 3.7.1, bbPress version 2.4.1, and bbPress reCaptcha version 1.1.
Am i forgetting to do something like a shortcode or something? i want this to appear when someone clicks the “Register” button to appear on that page that won’t allow the user (well… bot) to go forward with registering without correctly typing in the right Captcha.
I am fairly new to WordPress and know very little coding lingo so please be gentle ??
Thank you!!
Hey Pippin. I am working on an mu plugin for all of my work and I’m using this idea to set the keys for gforms and akismet. I looked through the code on this plugin and couldn’t figure out what constant to set or if it is even possible to use this same method.

I had installed bbPress recaptcha on this site: https://absoluteme.co.uk
It had worked but now we detected it’s not working for answering comments on our forum topics (it appears the text “The words you entered were incorrect”. I tryied to regenerate google keys but it still didn’t work, so I have disabled this plugin.
I wonder if someone could let me know what could be the problem.
Many thanks.

Hi,
Could you implement localization to your plugin by recommendation of the wordpress team.
Thanks.
If you enter the wrong words in the recaptcha field and click “submit,” the message you were trying to submit is deleted. Is there a way to fix that?
I think it’s very common to not enter the correct code on the first try. And it is EXTREMELY discouraging to have your entire message deleted after spending the time to get your question worded just right. I suspect I’ll be turning a lot of customers off.
