This plugin is extremely simple, and that’s wonderful. Exactly what a Forum admin needs. Such crucial functionality should have been built into the bbPress core, and I’m surprised it isn’t.

Here’s what you get: after activation, under Settings – Forums, you’ll get a box in which you can specify one (or more) addresses which will receive an email if a new topic is posted. Now you’ll never miss another user’s new message, and you can respond immediately.

If you’re looking for functionality whereby users are notified, may I recommend using Jetpack Comments. This includes the option to be notified about follow-up comments (and bbPress messages are comments, so it works very well on a per-topic basis).

I was looking for a plugin that would let users know when there were new postings to forums.

However, this plug in is different. It enables an administrator to track posts on all forums, not users. The multiple addresses mentioned means multiple admin addresses, configured by the admin.

I would rather not rate this at all, as I have not really used it. But one star off because it wasted my time having to install it to figure out what it did. Please attend to the documentation.
