Hi Sed Lex,
Thanks for your awesome work.
Related to the linked topic, I m not sure to understand how works the all backup system when you defined all blogs backup.
It appear that once I have backed up the main website with all blogs feature, I m still able to do backup for each site (backup size is definitly smaller than main site backup).
When we backup main site, do we still need to make some per blog backup as well ?
Cheers
david

]]>Hello !!
I just encounter a big problem with my WordPress MU : I was attempting to schedule backup with Backup Scheduler plugin via ftp. When I tested my ftp connexion, it was saying that PASV wasn’t working. So I searched about PASV on ftp and via WinSCP, I did this commandline :
PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (91,134,248,232,54,35)
Then I tried to go back to my website and OVH had cut my http connexion due to security problem. A malicious script was attempting to execute some kind of code.
Here is the datas they gave me to resolve it :
Commandline : /images/jessie.i386/lib/ld-linux.so.2 –library-path /images/jessie.i386/lib/i386-linux-gnu:/images/jessie.i386/usr/lib:/images/jessie.i386/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu:/images/jessie.i386/usr/local/lib:/images/jessie.i386/usr/local/php7.1/lib/php-extensions:/images/jessie.i386/lib php-fpm: pool coeurdardn

Do you know if this is due to the plugin ?
Thanks,

Hello,
My friend has a mistake with the wordpress login:
https://urologie.zerkaulen.de/wp-login.php
He has backed up his data using the Backup Scheduler plugin, but he does not know how to back up the backup in case of an error.
Can anyone help or has someone have a solution for the error message above.
The config.php was not stored via UTF-8, but via ANSI.
Thank you for your help in advance
]]>On 7/27/2017, the security plug-in Wordfence sent me the following email (edited for privacy):
—
Critical Problems:
* File contains suspected malware URL: …/public_html/wp-content/sedlex/translations/backup_scheduler_3fb7….html
https://www dot ufukart dot com
—
Today I ran a GravityScan (a cool new service from Wordfence) on the ufukart site. It appears that it has been compromised with malware, thus triggering the Wordfence alert on the link within Backup Scheduler acknowledging ufukart’s translation contribution (into Turkish).
Please note that this is NOT a report of malware within the Backup Scheduler plugin itself. It is a report that Backup Scheduler has a *link* to a web site that currently contains malware. This link is in a long list of people who contributed to translations of the plugin into other languages, and the plugin author may well be unaware that this contributor’s web site has been compromised.
Thus I suggest that the link to ufukart be removed from Backup Scheduler to avoid anyone thinking that this plugin is malicious per se.
I hope that the author of the Backup Scheduler plugin still supports it since, as of this writing, the latest version 1.5.12 dates from over a year ago.

and thank you once again for your effort and your great job!
My second question is:
ftp connection with my remote disk provider works fine on ftp://xyz.wedos.net

“It seems impossible to switch to PASV mode”
Is there any way how to solve it?

Hi SedLex!
first of all, thank you for your effort and your great job!
My question is:
wp-config.php is a part of every single backup, what about .htaccess?
Don’t you think about adding this option?
Thank you in advance
Mik
Hi! Have appreciated your Backup Scheduler for years.
I am noticing the sedlex log file shows this message for every backup date:
[20160805 144504] [69667] [SL_Zip] [ERROR] – The file /home/mysite/public_html/wp-content/sedlex/backup-scheduler//zip_in_progress has been deleted
Is this a problem with my backup?
Or is it a normal end-of-process message?
Thank you.
]]>The email summary is unusally phrased to native English speakers. I’d like to suggest some small changes.
1. Replace “Dear sirs,
Please find hereafter a summary of the backup process.” with simply:
“Here is a summary of the backup process.”
The “Dear sirs” and “Please find hereafter” sound like older English from 50+ years ago.
2. Use the word “summary” instead of “synthesis”
3. Change tenses in summaries, from:
“The SQL extraction has started on June 26, 2016 22:13:12 and have lasted 0 minutes and 0 seconds” to
“The SQL extraction started on June 26, 2016 22:13:12 and lasted 0 minutes and 0 seconds”
There are some other wording improvements, but changing this would make the English text email sound more natural. Thanks!

This error message may also be generated if the chunk size is too big: try first to set the chunk size to 1Mo in order to avoid any memory saturation of your server and then increase it slowly...
Have tried setting both of these values to 1 MB but no avail:
maximum zip file size (in MB, namely the chunck size):
maximum size of allocated memory (in MB):

My WordPress site is on openshift and CRON needs to be installed as an option. If CRON is not required for the plugin then I will not install CRON as this will consume resources.
Since your plugin has a scheduler function I would expect CRON to be needed, but it is not clear if indeed is used.

Will this setting prevent the backup from running by schedule or will it run daily?
If it runs daily by setting frequency = 0, then how do I prevent to run a schedule backup. In this site I only want to run on demand backups.
]]>I noticed my website was taking up an unusual amount of space on the server. When I investigated, I discovered the source was a copy of all Backup Scheduler’s backups, sitting here:
wp-content/sedlex/backup-scheduler/
I know a random string has been added to the filenames, so hey can’t be easily found. Whilst the effective security of this is arguable, I’m concerned about the necessity of it. Does the risk need to be taken at all?
My data is successfully being backed up to FTP on a separate server. Does a copy of all those backups, containing SQL passwords and a full SQL dump, need to exist within my website’s files?

I am having a problem on restoring my DB backup. For instance, this is a line I’m having an issue with:
INSERT INTO wp_links VALUES(8, https://LINK.com, NAME, NULL, _blank, NULL, Y, 2, 1, 0000-00-00 00:00:00, me, NULL, NULL);
When I put a '
around each of those values, it imports fine. At this rate, I can redo my entire site if I have to manually change each of these. Any suggestions on how to make this work properly?
I am having trouble understanding these emails of the backup process.
First, the backup ended at 12:37, but the email was not sent until 10:55 am — the next morning? Or are different time zones being used?
Second, the email says the backup took about 9 hours to complete, but the SQL and ZIP processes together sum to only about 3 hours. What am I missing here?
Third, it says the SQL synthesis process took about an hour, but the sql files were completed in mere seconds after they began. Huh?
All in all, I’m not sure if there is a problem here or not. On the face of it, the backup should not take very long (sometimes it completes in 3 minutes) — the resulting zip files are about 60 MB total.
I am using 1.5.8. site is junctionra.ca
Thanks,

You have amazing plugin for backup solution, congrats.
But it will ve more amazing if you support sql compression.
It is very important in websites with large sql data.
Hi!
What frequency of the database backups can I set?
