I’ve tried a bunch of different plugins and approaches at this point, and so far this is the best option by far. Works as advertised, it’s fast, and it is indeed highly configurable.
And as for those complaining about the “spam” link at the bottom, that can always be suppressed with a little CSS know-how.

I would have loved to use this but like the previous reviewer, there was a tiny ad at the bottom – and it also wouldn’t save without ‘Atom Twitter Feed’ in the widget heading – so I’ve uninstalled…

Love this plugin but unfortunately, after activating, customizing and placing the twitter widget, I saw a spam link under the tweet feed. So I had to delete this plugin ??

I’ve been trying different solutions to display recent tweets for our Intranet site. I can tell you that this one is hands down the best. This is very easy to install and you can control every aspect of the widget to make it look exactly how you want it to look. It’ll also generate it’s own short code which is great.

I was using some other plugins on wordpress. Somehow its have stupid cache issues. Not getting the updated tweets after a while. So I have decided to choose some other plugins and this one have no issue and saved my life.
