I’m really impressed by all the things Fundify can do but frustrated at what’s missing.
Can anyone tell me how I send an email to someone when they set up a campaign. I can see the email to donors but not the creator of the page?
Also it was creating campaigns OK and now we get an error message. Is this us or the theme?

There are about a million bugs, and it’s very poorly integrated with EDD. The settings are a nightmare to adjust, with options for the same thing in three different places, and conflicts with unpredictable outputs between however those options are set. Good luck trying to keep track of anything.

It might be fine if you don’t touch anything and just use it as-is with it’s absolute simplest preset options… but changing any of the settings seems to have created an intractable tangle. Now I can’t get almost anything to work properly, there are still unresolved errors popping up that were supposed to be fixed in the last update, and there’s an uncaught exception… *sigh*.

It looks like it could be a really neat and extremely useful plugin, but right now it seems to be a mess, and I’ve lost so many hours of my life trying to get it to work ??

Thanks for reviews! It saved me a lot of time. I’ve gotten into the habit of reading the lowest rated reviews because they often provide great information that saves time.

I hate the fact that so many plugin develpers nickel and dime consumers like this. A nickel for this plugin a dime for it to work a quarter for help. Unfortunately this seems to be one of the only trusted crowdfunding plugins around.

This is a great plugin that adds awesome functionality to wordpress. Highly recommended. Great way to raise money for a local cause. Great support team as well.

This plugin relies heavily on the paid Digital Downloads Adaptive Payments and the premium themes to satisfy the description given, so it’s appropriate I detail the theme/adaptive plugin as part of the overall review (If that’s an issue then the plugin description should be re-written to concentrate on what the plugin can do as a standalone).

You can not ‘pledge’ an amount with this plugin as it is, as a standalone download. In some sense ‘pledging’ is the essence of ‘Crowdfunding’. You can make an instant payment there and then, but not make a ‘pledge’. I’d prefer to see a different plugin description than the one provided:

“Backers” can pledge specified amounts of money towards a project…”

Any payment made will be to you, the site owner, not the campaign project owner/author. You will need to make separate arrangements as to how you then transfer the money to them.

So this is an instant payment plugin, providing instant payments to you the site owner to your Paypal account.

If you do want ‘pledges’ and that money pledged to be paid direct to the campaign author’s Paypal account, you will need to buy a further plugin at $49 (Which I did), to enable the ability of a user to pledge an amount: The Digital Downloads Adaptive Payments Plugin, which I understand is co-authored by some of the developers of this package.

Further, if you’re an average website creator with no development team you will probably need to buy a theme that can utilise some of this plugins functions. Again I chose the Fundify theme at $60; so in total approx $109 paid to have ‘pledges’ working and functional, payments to campaign authors Paypal accounts and other theme related functions.

Having established this I personally found issues I felt should have been dealt with before release and as one user commented in the support forum, were ‘clunky’. The same issues were repeated by many different users so they appeared to be known bugs.

However, the support forum runs a ‘premium’ service at a monthly fee amount:
VIP Support Monthly – $39 – 30 Days
VIP Support Yearly – $149 – 365 Days

Many times I searched for support questions but was denied access to the answers because I wasn’t a ‘premium’ member; despite having paid in total $109 for the entire product range.

I’m still continuing with the package as it cost me money, but it has been a frustrating experience. I think when a product is relatively new to the market and will have some expected issues, the forum should be available for all to read and find answers.

Excellent code written by forward-thinking developers who are open to suggestions and improvements. This theme requires a number of (free) plugins to really shine, but that means your website isn’t limited to their vision.

We’re loving the journey and appreciate the hard work of the developers – including their quick resolutions to support issues and the regular and enthusiastic theme updates.

This plugin is great and it looks promising, its just that one can not have access to fully test it before purchase. even the test plugin to show purchases is not reachable as state below. its not compatible with other WP themes, one must first bought theme fundify https://appthemer.com/fundify.html to have it function.

The plugin and theme is really cool in that it emulates kickstart functionality. What blow me away more than ANYTHING, is the support. I feel the people running App Themer are “best in class” when it comes to both building AND support. Did I mention how incredible the support is? I think i did. I pummeled them with 10 questions in 24 hours and they answered quickly every time. I’m a huge fan of their work ethic, themes, did I mention support. best email customer service team I’ve ever come across. Thanks for everything, you guys rock!!!
