Hello,
This plugin was a life-saver, so thank you! Is there any way to see a list of places where your plugin added the API? I’m trying to track down where an old API is located.
Hello there,
While trying to solve this console error, I found your plugin: Loading the Google Maps JavaScript API without a callback is not supported. I have about 90 maps on my website (I own a travel agency, so I need many of them to display trips). I’m concerned the error is hurting my visibility in Google searches.
I have embedded ‘Google My Maps‘ (not Google Maps) as you can see here: https://fmvy9onpv2-staging.onrocket.site/mexico-city/#expenses – I have embedded the maps by using the iframe each map provides. The iframe doesn’t require an API.?
I installed your plugin in my staging website and added my API, but the error still shows in the console. Is there anything else I could do to solve this error? I will appreciate your help.
Thank you in advance,
I received the following security alert from Google Cloud Platform:
We believe that you or your organization may have inadvertently published the affected API key in public sources or on public websites (for example, credentials mistakenly uploaded to a service such as GitHub.)
It appears that the plugin is making the Google Maps API key publicly visible on the following line inside the
of all pages. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Greetings,
It looks like the version number in the plugin’s comment header still says 1.2.1 causing WordPress to report that as the current version available and not update the plugin.
Just an issue as version <= 1.2.1 has a reported vulnerability so I had to edit the ZIP and upload the update manually on my site to silence the security scanner.
Thanks for the great plugin though ??

Hi,
as many others, we contantly see warnings in our maintenance systems that your plugin was abandoned. I know that there is probably no need for an update. However, it would be nice, if you could provide one like you said in this thread almost a year ago.
Many customers are worried about the warnings. This is quite time-consuming for us.
Thank you very much in advance.
I site I am helping manage has WP Google Maps. The map stopped working because the client needed to update their credit card.
Credit card was updated but the map still won’t load.
I purged the cache not sure what else to do other than maybe erasing the map and adding it again?
Hi,
As the Plugin was not updated for nearly two years: did you abandon its maintenance? Or is there just no need to change anything because it still works? Don’t I have to worry about security issues?
Thanks for letting me know.
Best,
Lukas
Hello everyone,
Please, i have this js file (google map api) loaded on my page, i already had this plugin but i delete it, but the file is always loaded on mu page,
if any one can tell me how to clean it.
Thanks
I have a Google Map API Key for my WordPress Site, ending with “….FGHEU”.
Now with the Plugin API KEY for Google Maps I tried to include this in my page.
The Plugin told “Key Updated!” but in the source code there is still the old key with the ending “…..ahYtI”. And so my card is not displayed properly. It shows “For development purposes only”.
I tried to find the script (.php ?) for the API Key (with the wrong key written),
‘https://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?key=AIzaSyB1sfdJcExL4yClNPuprAd8QADFU8ahYtI&ver=3.0’>
unfortunately in vain.
The theme developer is unfortunately no longer available, he has not provided support for 2 years and he does not reply to mails.
Also the customer support from Google couldn’t help me.
I think the theme developer integrate my old API key years ago, when I had a problem with the google map. And so the plugin could not replace the old key.
Could anybody help, please? I have two homepages with this problem.
Thank you so much!
I entered the map API key ending in ‘QqmVqI’ into the plugin, but, it isn’t updating the API key used on my site, which is API key ending in ‘c7zrk0E’. the correct one appears when Im viewing in wp-admin dashboard but not on website.
thanks in advance for your help..
I keep getting the Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details. message.
I checked and it says: Google Maps JavaScript API error: ExpiredKeyMapError
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#expired-key-map-error
But I did get a new key and used the plugin. Can someone help me fix this error? I am new to wordpress and plugins.
Plugin stopped working two days ago and I’m now getting a Google Maps error. There have been no changes to the website and the google account API is set up correctly. Any ideas?
Hello,
I have a site w/ many maps on it. It said “For Display Purposes…” so I put this plugin on there. I had an API already set up for the site, so I used that key. There is NO billing account associated with the existing API.
When I check pages with the different maps, it gives this error: “RefererNotAllowedMapError”
I have added all iterations of the site to the api key.
Is it possible that there’s another issue? Or is it that there’s no billing? Since it’s just throwing up “RefererNotAllowedMapError” only, what else could it possibly be?
Thanks!
We have an iframe using Advanced Iframe app and import the url per the code below:
<iframe style=”margin-top: -40px;” src=”https://jbf.force.com/colleges/CollegeAdvancedSearch” width=”100%” height=”800″ scrolling=”yes”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”>?<span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_end”>?
Everything work except after a listing of colleges comes up and you click on one it shows and error where there should be a small version of google maps. It also produces a link for the larger map which works.
Do you think using your plugin would fix this problem? This used to work until lately.
My problem is not knowing where to place the API key.
Simply wonderful! No more js console warnings. Thank you so much
Hi,

do you have any idea what the problem is?
this is url site:
https://reservilla.ir/wp-content/themes/twentynineteen/googleMap.html
Good afternoon.
I use the plugin on my wordpress website, and the same, because it is not working properly, does not allow the registration of my products.
The plugin, along with the Key API are configured on a real estate sales site, but I am not able to register my products because the site needs the address of the registered property, but because of the plugin, the address that I registered is validated and the registration is not finalized.
I send pictures describing this situation.
I use the WordPress Realty theme on my site in version 2.4.3
Awaiting return.
Thank you.
This is just one of several pages I have a problem with. On the first page I mentioned, I get the greyed out error indicating a problem with javascript. On other pages, I don’t even get a map:
https://propertycosta.com/listings/golden-mile-marbella-3-bedroom-penthouse-for-sale-675000eur/
The author of the theme I’m using recommended this plugin in his support forum, so I’m keen to go back to him if it is a template problem and not one with this plugin.
I’m sure everything is setup correctly from the api point of view, is set to allow only this domain to access the api:
Any help gratefully appreciated.
I have a field using ACF (advanced custom fields) where I input the map location, save it and it, shows it on the front and backend once saved.
All old map locations load properly on the frontend after plugin installation, but I cannot add new locations or see the map as it also needs the API on the admin side to view.
Any help?

Is it possible to color the displayed map?
I would like to add a different color to the main roads and green areas.

Hi, great plugin. When I downloaded and added my API key, it worked for about half an hour, after that it no longer works and says NoApiKey, but i have one. I have tried manually doing this as well, without your plugin — nothing seems to work.
I know there are tons of posts in the forum like this one but, after reading most of them I haven’t get exact solution to my problem. The map loads for some secs after using a recently generated API KEY but once you refresh the page it displays the “only for developers” in the background… I’m not sure if this can be easily fixed by modifying some code or is a major issue…
Would you any of you spare some time and let me know how could it be fixed?
Thanks for your time guys!!
