Why the wild goose chase? There is no support for this plugin as stated and there is no documentation anywhere on how to use this effectively. What gives with the runaround??? The widget option to not display the link still hyperlinks from the title AND clicking on the permalink returns 404 page not found. Already reported 4 months ago by another user the dates overlap on the timeline. What do you have to say about that?
Also, there is no trace of a Pro version anywhere to be considered. The free plugin has potential and I think you can do better by adding shortcodes for pages, posts, custom post types and custom styling options.

hi, following your guide I should be able to get the shortcode to publish the timeline on a page’s body through the widget, but the shortcode line doesn’t appear there (as it happens on your guide’s screenshot).
How do I get the shortcode?
