Amazon sent an email just now to all Affiliates. The plugin will not work anymore starting from March 9th 2020, it has been discontinued.
I have a blog with over 300 product reviews and now I am supposed to manually convert literally thousands of links!
Very bad experience with AALB! ??

I’m not sure why so many others are having the “not working” issue. Possibly it’s related to an API thresh hold where you’re not meeting minimum sales to use the API? I’m using this plugin on at least 5 different niche sites getting decent results. The template system is cool as you can create some of your own (much better) layouts with custom styling. This plugin is the nuts and I’ve wasted way too much time messing about with third party plugins that always go wrong. I would like to see more updates and features added, however! And possibly an invitation to an Amazon Associates event with some free beer?

Fails to work. Settings cannot be saved. No idea why.

From the very first use when searching for a product it sends back the error “You are submitting requests too quickly. Please retry your requests at a slower rate.” There doesn’t appear to be any solution and it seems this problem has been around for months in the support forums.

I’ve never known such a badly coded or poorly supported plugin as this one. A multi billion dollar company like Amazon ought to be able to produce better than this rubbish.
Come on Amazon, you create an associates program then create a barely functional plugin to help associates advertise Amazon Marketplace products. Is this the best Amazon coders can produce?
To those who need an Amazon Associates plugin my advice is to avoid this one until Amazon invests time and effort into making it work.

A completely CRAP. Don’t loose your time, test another plugins or try adding scripts manually…
PS: and as you can see, there is CERO response to critics or problems, in other words, assistance is CERO too.

Can’t do anything with it unless you have their “Product Advertising API,” a separate step beyond the affiliate program.

Non funziona più da un po’.

The plugins’ functionality is unintuitive, to say the least. It is just horrible.
You are better-off getting your Amazon links from their affiliate website.

No longer works correctly
Cause overloading of API requests, Too many request in same time every operation

This plugin stopped working with WordPress once the Gutenberg update went through. For a while, I was able to use it with the WordPress “Classic” blocks, but now I can’t even find it there. The functionality is 100% gone. Please update to be compatible with Gutenberg blocks so I can start promoting Amazon products again.

The plugin will fail to work if too few of your visitors click through to Amazon and make a purchase.
From the AWS docs (emphasis mine):
Effective 23-Jan-2019, the request limit for each account is calculated based on revenue performance attributed to calls to the Product Advertising API (PA API) during the last 30 days. …
Note that your account will lose access to Product Advertising API if it has not generated referring sales using PA API in the last 30 days.
Worse yet, the plugin stores the code for API calls in the wp_options table. This leads to database bloat and can eventually crash your WordPress site. (check how bad it is on your site by going to: /wp-admin/options.php ).
Fortunately, if you delete the plugin (not just deactivate) it will clean the crap out of your database. (Be sure to take a backup first.)

I’ve been an Amazon Affiliate for years and decided to try this plugin.
First time out I’m told I need to register the API as an Amazon associate. What? I got the codes via my account.
Then I’m told I’m submitting requests to fast and the “Efficiency Guidelines” page they tell you too read is full of excuses, no answers. Beyond frustrating. It’s been a big waste of my valuable time.
I came to the forum, researched the problems and I’m certainly not alone.

On my site it works great. I have the latest version of WordPress Gutenberg and I’m not having any problems. I’m testing different plugins and systems including strip sites but this plugin gives the best result. Great job guys

To quote Amazon:
Note that your account will lose access to Product Advertising API if it has not generated referring sales using PA API in the last 30 days.
Because
Effective 23-Jan-2019, the request limit for each account is calculated based on revenue performance attributed to calls to the Product Advertising API (PA API) during the last 30 days.
So unless you can drive lots of traffic through these links it is not worth the bother to set up! And it was a bother, and a complete waste of time.
If, like me, you just want to generate a little bit of trickle-down income, this is not the way to integrate Amazon into your WordPress site.

This was a really good plugin, but no thanks to Amazon putting in their efficiency limitations it no longer works for people who do not generate sufficient sales in a 30 day period. The API key is throttled by big brother amazon.

This plugin messed my site up. First the recent tweet feed stopped working, then images on the post were not loading and in the latest post special signs in Spanish like accents and so on did not work. Once I deactivated the plugin everything went back to normal.

The plugin worked until the recent upgrade.
then it did not….now it does.
I hope it continues to work, it is a good plugin when it does.

For me it is working flawlessly, every post I have a list of products and I can quickly add them using the post editor, and it is displayed with ProductGrid.
5 Stars, no problems so far, my time and work searching and adding products to posts has dramatically reduced.

Not only am I getting really frustrated trying to add affiliate links using this plug-in, but none of my questions are ever answered in the forum. The guideline/how to use document is also not very user friendly for someone who doensn’t know how to code. I was just looking for a good way to add affiliate links with images to my blog, but apparently, this is not what I was looking for!

Plugin n?o funciona (dos meeus três sites, só funcionou em 1, mas vive travando). Além do mais, ainda é muito manual.

I’d like to see this updated/maintained a little bit more. Works well enough most of the time.
Would love to see more mobile support, support for AMP themes such as AmpforWP (direct support or premium would be nice). I’ll be updating to WP 5 here soon so I hope this plugin doesn’t work!
There could be a little more intelligence in the offering – automation with coupons/discounts and such would be nice.

It crashes from time to time, and have still some bugs and things to improve, and they don’t seem to work on it that much.
It is useful when it works, specially the multi-national option and somehow easy to use.
But I am not happy about the way it works, because when the plugin or the API fails, all your links and images dissapear. This doesn’t happen with other plugins, and it is very bothersome because you can lose some sales.
Right now, it doesn’t work on my site at all.

Three important problems:
[1] I’m signed up with UK, France, Germany, Canada and USA. Amazon have personally confirmed my registration in all regions is fine. BUT, Canada and USA will not work for me because they don’t recognise my registration. The plugin claims I haven’t joined (the others work fine).
[2] The plugin stops Caldera Forms from working. Caldera is a brilliant plugin, for which there is no real substitute. It’s also cast iron and works well under pretty much all configurations, but that doesn’t prevent Amazon from breaking it.
[3] Amazon are well-known for their ambiguous and unhelpful instructions for all things technical — which is unfortunate, given that setting up their services is usually complicated. However, unless you fork out $29, their support team is utterly useless. I didn’t pay them the money, so they failed to help me.
This is frustrating, to say the least. While Amazon continue their inexorable march to attempt domination of all financial transactions worldwide, their unfounded confidence leaves ordinary web builders unsupported and flailing in a mire of acronyms and conflicting statements. I didn’t like Amazon much before, but I am now working to eliminate them from my life altogether in favour of real people who deliver real service.
