Hi I’ve just updated your plug-in to version 2 and it is randomly adding tags to my featured posts or making the title tag longer and taking in some of the post/exerpt text. Can you help me fix this?

I’ve just updated a whole batch of plugins and my site then just showed a blank white screen. I deactivated Advanced Side Bar and AK: Featured Post Sidebar Widget and it has come back to life (except the child menus or pgaes that are displayed by category). If I deactivate only one I still have the problem – whichever one.
It still works okay if I am logged in as admin, but suspect that’s a cache thing.
Any thoughts/help?

I created a CPT using Types but when I enter the name in the CPT Name in the Widget configuration, nothing appears when I load a page. I get the header and an empty widget box.

I just noticed that ak_featured_post.php file starts with short php tag “<?”.
One of my customers server in on IIS7 and there short codes are not working. I had to change that short tag to <?php and after that the plugin worked.
Php.ini-file says:
“<? and ?> tags as PHP source which should be processed as such. It’s been recommended for several years that you not use the short tag “short cut” and instead to use the full <?php and ?> tag combination. With the wide spread use of XML and use of these tags by other languages, the server can become easily confused and end up parsing the wrong code in the wrong context.”

Your plugin did all that except showing the text preview. So I added some coding of my own, which was really easy since you wrote the plugin very neatly with lots of comments. Thanks for that ??
Anyway, I wanted to suggest you to add text preview in some next version. I did that with just a few extra lines:
