We have delisted Akeeba Backup from the WordPress Plugins Directory in 2015. As a result we no longer offer free of charge support through this forum in the WordPress directory.
To get the latest version of the plugin please go to https://www.akeeba.com/download.html
You can read the documentation free of charge at https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/akeeba-solo.html.
The documentation has troubleshooting information:
If you want to receive support from the developers you can purchase a subscription. The subscription gives you access to our support ticket system and the premium Akeeba Backup Professional version with additional features.
If you have found a bug —meaning that it’s reproducible across different sites and hosting companies— you can use our Contact Us page to let us know. Kindly note that if we determine that your report is not a bug but a generic support request we might not be able to reply to you, depending on time availability (supporting paying clients, addressing real bugs, and maintaining the software take priority).

How can I do?
]]>I really love Akeeba Backup for WordPress. (Coming from Joomla, no surprise.) But I do have one big problem: when I restore a site online some – not all – background images don’t show. They are there, in the media folder. All I have to do is open the page and check the image. The image is there, when I re-save the page, no problem.
It happens a lot. Not consistent, usually background images. Seems like some localhost paths aren’t properly converted.
How can I correct that?
]]>Dear customer support,
i have 15 websites, all on the same hosting provider, in this case it’s a brand new wordpress installation, php7.2 (tried also with php7.1) no plugin installed, uploaded via ftp a new installation of akeeba, as soon i activate the plugin i get a white blank page and cannot go anywhere.
Need to rename the directory via ftp to deactivate the plugin and restore the admin panel.
I tried to see Error log from my hosting, but there is nothing that seems to be an error.
all the other settings are like other websites, can’t understand why is not working (also the template i already used on other websites).
any suggestion?

]]>I’ve been using Akeeba Backup on Joomla for years and I have to admit it, it’s the best backup tool I’ve used so far, when I saw it on wordpress, I almost couldn’t trust my eyes, so I had to verify it myself.
Now after installing it, I got the following message:
You are using an obsolete PHP version
Your site is running on PHP 5.3.29 which has stopped receiving security updates since Thursday, 14 August 2014. Using this on a live site is dangerous: unpatched security issues can get your site hacked. Moreover, we will only support obsolete versions of PHP for nine months since their end-of-life date. Therefore we will discontinue support for your PHP version on Thursday, 14 May 2015. We strongly advise you to ask your host to upgrade your site to PHP 5.5 or later.
I know it is a matter of security, but I remember that the last time I had problems with my php version, I noticed that my server always install php mods, I mean, it always updates the current php version, I’ve seen people on forums saying that people PHP doesn’t necessarily need to be the latest version (Example, upgrade from 5.3 to 5.5, instead of just updating the current version) to be secure. And the last time my server upgraded my php, I had some configuration issues.
Isn’t there another way of fixing this?

]]>Hi,
I am Akeeba backup Version 1.2.1.2, on WordPress 4.1.
When I back up my site, I can’t find the backup file using FTP.
The output directory is set to: /wp-content/plugins/akeebabackupcore/app/backups, but there are only ‘.htaccess’, ‘index.html’, and ‘webconfig’ files in that folder.
When I click on ‘Manage Backups’, there are 4 successful backups listed, but these are not showing up on the server.
Can you help please?
Thanks, Alan

]]>Hi. I have been using Akeeba for about a week on this site
[https://skyplatpenthouse.com], backing up everyday. This evening I hit the Backup Now button in the control panel which took me to the “Start a New Backup page. Then I clicked the Backup Now! button and nothing happens. I tried to check the configuration and only get a page that tells me about all the cool things that Akeeba does. When I went to the configuration wizard I got a blank page with the date and time on it – that’s it. What happened? This is a really wonderful tool, and I plan on using it a lot. Can you help?
Thanks
]]>Hi,
i get some issues after upgrading to Version 1.2.0.rc3.
I′ve installed it on two pages and both of them are throwing a lot of “Invalid AJAX” errors and are aborting the backup-process after some seconds.
Are there any known issues like this or does somebody knows a fix?
Thanks for your answer.
]]>Hi,
after updating to 1.2.0 rc3 the configuration page only shows messages but not the actual configuration form to edit settings, only little blank space there. After deactivating the simplesharebuttons plugin it showed up again. We are using a premium version of this plugin (https://simplesharebuttons.com/plus/ latest version 0.5.0), don’t know if the standard plugin causes the same error.
Also the update deleted our Akeeba settings (that’s why I had to access the configuration), is that normal behaviour?

]]>Hello,
I managed to create a single backup manually but since then (3 months) nothing works anymore – and I mean NOTHING:
1. Can’t backup
2. Can’t update
3. Can’t uninstall
My Akeeba version is: 1.0.3
When I try to backup I get: directory is not writable. I tried to change permissions to 0777 but they always go back automatically to 0775. The directory itself is the right one – it exists and I didn’t do any site moving or restoring.
Any idea how I could fix that?
Thanks!

i just did a backup on 4.0 beta 2 and everything seems to have worked fine. i didnt test a restore. i saw another backup plugin that had a restore tester. didnt try it out or know how it works, but it seems like a good idea to test a restore w/o actually have to do a restore. how is 4.0 compatibility?
have you made any advancements into WP MU and the backups?
