This is one the best calendar plugins I have seen so far. It’s easy to use, the admin interface is quite simple. The biggest downside is that the ajax popup is kind of ugly and there isn’t too much that we are able to do to adjust it.

Mainly, shortcode does not work in the event descriptions, and there is no way to bypass the popup and have events link directly to a post or URL. Adding either of those options would vastly improve this plugin.

This works well for a site calendar. It is easy to set up new events and easy to understand. I can include an Event List in the sidebar and also keep track of upcoming events.
My only slight niggle is the multiplicity of fields to fill in for each event. I can understand that some users may want to track events by zipcode or location, but it would be nice to have a simple interface that just allows you to enter a date, time, event, location (all in one line) and description.
Having said that, this is reliable, free, and does everything I need to track events, so I am just being churlish in wishing for more … ??

I was looking for a calendar that worked similar to Google calendar, but I needed to be able to color code events based on categories. This plugin fulfills all the requirements.

Another very nice feature is the ability to choose which categories to display. We can have “internal” events show only on pages limited to staff logged in and “public” events show on pages accessible by all.

My only negative would be that the documentation is minimal. I found the information I needed in the FAQs, but had to do a little digging and it wasn’t very clear.

I have an issue with viewing an event on a mobile device. Can the window be resized to fit? Users are complaining that they can’t see an event once it opens and they’re only on a mobile device. Otherwise this is great! Worked on the first try. Installing it was super easy. I’m using it with the very latest version of WP and it works great.

This plugin is easy to use, very customizable and has the features I need. My calendar tracks multi-day and single day programs categorized in seven areas with full day and varied start/stop times. All work.

This plugin installs easily and supports multiple categories of calendar entries. Each calendar can show any subset of categories, and has multiple available formats, with a shortcode setting defaults. Clicking on entries shows more detail.

My wish list: That repeating events could include things like every 3rd Thursday of the month, and that an individual recurring event could be deleted without deleting the entire series.

This a wonderful easy and clean calendar plugin.

As has been stated Mr. Miller is no longer supporting it.

The recent update, I did an extensive file comparison, is nothing.
Except that it has been supposedly test on WP 4.2.2 .

The recent updates are only to change some links that point to a person “advertising” his other software and plugin’s .

There have been no other changes. Except to promote another plugin.
And well some prettier graphics on the plugin page.

I don’t really know how these things work on WP..

There are quite a few bugs with conflicts with other plugins… aka “hooks”.

I don’t know how WP.org handles these things, but if there is no support by the recent “updater”… or actual “fixes”… I don’t know what to make about what is going on here. And this is more of a “hijack” of a plugin.

The recent Updater IS NOT Erin Miller the creator of this plugin.

If you do some research… you will discover the “new” person that is behind this update.

Great Job!
I gave five stars even though I would like to see a more responsive design. The calendar page extends beyond the page borders. would aslo be nice to easily change font and style on the fly.
overall this is a serious tool for events for any organization.

Despite not having been updated in a years, and lack of support, this calendar is still the best out there for my needs in my opinion.
Worked around the bilingual issue that I had by creating English and French categories and just including the French on the French pages and English on English pages. Events are easily duplicated, so it’s just a matter of updating the content and switching to the other language equivalent category.
If I were a coder I’d offer to take this over and maybe update it, but it still works out of the box on WP 4.3.1 and I’ve had it now since early 2013.

I tried a lot of free Calendar plugins and all of them are lacking some big feature’s, and they want you to pay. This is an excellent plugin.
