My use case for this plugin is me wanting to show visitors how I am progressing in developing educational hardware. If you are interested in this case cheap, durable, and easy to replicate, open source quiz-buttons.
I choose Agilepress because I can make the story and sprintboards public. But more importantly it is free at this moment, they do regular updates, and I have experienced an amazing response time via email.
If you like me are not too familiar with epic/user stories and sprints it might take an hour to figure it out. But on there website they explain a bit more. At this point I can tell it takes me about 20seconds to create a new task or a new story. I keep the browser open while working and if I experience something I can add a story and task.
Now that I have set up my pages, it works fine. Though I have doubt inexperienced users find it an easy way to view progress. The ideas of a sprint and user stories is something that could use a simple and short explanation. When it comes to visitors you don’t want the to use a mobile phone in portrait mode. It is horrible in my opinion.
Some of the pro’s:
+ Easy setup
+ very friendly and helpful developers.
+ free to use
+ Adding task and stories can be done from back-end and front-end withing halve a minute.
+ sprints can be planned.
+ backlog works automatically for stories.
There are some cons at this point.
– The layout on a portrait mode phone can be terrible. down to one letter per line.
– I added some additional css to the page to make the text smaller, to make it fit better
– If you have a lot of tasks you also get very long pages.
wishes:
O I would like an added or solved date for tasks and stories.
O better layout for users with portrait mode smartphones.
° Maybe an alternative way, in the form of a (collapsible) list
° a way to implement a progression report in a blog
O easy way to change text size/ style and maybe colour (apart from text size not that important)
Thanks to the team for this nice product
