Firstly, I apologise in advance if this is the wrong place to post this but I am very new to this. I am not technical but in my current job I have inherited the task of maintaining our website. Therefore, I had nothing to do with setting it up, so in all honesty I’m not really sure how the real nuts and bolts of it work. I’ve managed to do most of the things I need to do using help files and guides, but I’m now stuck.
We have a set of pages for our Events. These pages have a sidebar. With some help from the main forum I have now identified it as the Advanced Sidebar widget.
When I create new event pages (which I usually do by cloning and amending one of the existing event pages), I know how to manually enter them in the dropdown menu that appears under ‘Events’ in the menu that runs along the top of the site (Appearances – Menu) and can drag them into whatever order I want, but I am having trouble with the sidebar. The new pages I create seemed to magically appear in the sidebar without me having to do anything, and I now understand that Advanced Sidebar has been set up to do this, but I can’t control the order.
When I expand the widget, I can see a drop down for Page Order, and the only three options are Page Order, Title and Published Date. I was hoping for a drag and drop or similar (the order I want kind of groups events together by theme, which is only apparent in the text I type on the Event page so can’t see a way that this would be detected and recognised automatically). Is there any way to do this? (Also, is my clone-amend approach to new Event pages messing this up in some way?)
Many thanks in advance.
]]>This plugins seems to be incompatible with Stackable. It works fine on the front-end, but the block settings are not shown in the admin section. A big “something went wrong” message appears asking me to enable script debugging.
As a workaround, temporarily disabling the Stackable – Gutenberg plugin (in order to change the settings) fixes this.
]]>Hey there.
Would it be possible to please get a link to download v. 9.0.5?
The sidebar widget code appears to have stopped working as of v. 9.0.6 – with the latest Astra theme plus Beaver Builder, WP 6.0.2, and PHP 8.1.17.
Reinstalling the plugin, optimizing the database, and clearing the cache have not worked. Unfortunately, we are unable to deactivate the other plugins to further troubleshoot because this is a busy electric utility company website and we can’t afford to lose any functionality.
I don’t feel comfortable publicly posting the URL and would be happy to share via PM.
Thanks for taking a look.

]]>Hi
I tried your plugin and maybe I’m doing something wrong but nothing was displayed. What I want to do is to go the post Genesis 1 and when I do it shows all the posts within that category in the sidebar or when I click on the category. At the moment it doesn’t show anything.
Thanks

]]>Hi!
Looks like it’s not showing private subpages withing pages Gutenberg block. Is there some code to show them?
Thanks.
]]>We have the pro version and I am hoping to be able to use this to create sort of a hybrid menu where Advanced Sidebar generates dynamic nav based on our page hierarchy AND append a custom WP menu on specific pages. We want the nav items to visually appear within the same sidebar navigation.
Advanced Sidebar Menu works great for 90% of our needs. It’s just these edge cases where we want to be able to display links to pages from a specific group of pages outside of their page hierarchy.
I’m hoping we can use a filter to accomplish this, but have yet to get it to work.

Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Hi, I tried using custom css to style the menu bar, but I cant get the active page to highlighted with yellow. how do I do that?
Also, if I hover on a page, I want the whole line background to change to yellow. how do I do that too?

]]>Post was not displaying properly when we duplicated the post to edit and save. The primary menu and sidebar was all messed up on front display. I realized the Advance Sidebar Menu plugin was the culprit as I recently updated this plugin. I disabled for now. The post is showing properly now. Is there a way to find out if pages on the site are using this plugin? We are using Divi builder templates so I am using the divi menu module as the sidebar in the template for the Post pages. Not sure if this plugin is used elsewhere on this site. There may be custom pages that are using this plugin. Can you assist once I can enable it when you are ready to troubleshoot?
]]>Hello,
How do I keep accordion menu open when child active or selected?
Now the pages reloads and then collapses accordion.
Hello, from the sidebar menu I have 1st and 2nd level pages displaying the correct active state on the parent/ancestor (main) menu item when visited, however when navigating into a 3rd level page from the sidebar, the parent/ancestor (main) menu item does not show as active. Hoping there is some custom CSS that would help solve this. Thanks!
]]>I have inherited a site from someone else. It seems they’re using this plugin for the more detailed pages of their site.
They have two different categories but want the same page to appear in both. They’re handling this by having to separate pages, but each time they want to update something on the page, they need to remember to update both.
Is there a way to list the same page in both categories so there’s only one to update? Or does anyone have an idea on how to handle this?

I am using the Advanced Sidebar Pages menu in Elementor with the Accordion Menu enabled.
It works well, however, when there are grandchild pages that have sub-pages, the accordion will not expand for those. I’m not sure if there is a setting I’ve missed or if this is a bug. Please advise!
Plugin/Sys Info:

“… Is there a way to display this menu wherever I want using a shortcode? …”
————–
I’m following up with the same question above in case I missed something … is there a shortcode available?
Or, would we just include the widget into our page design as needed to accomplish the same thing, and … if so … I’m assuming it will work just fine with WPBakery?
Thank you!

]]>We use the right sidebar to list all of the individual articles in each issue of Contemporary Haibun Online.
Here is an example, published issue of CHO–NOT the next issue, which is not published yet: https://contemporaryhaibunonline.com/cho-16-2/
The next issue will have 80-100 articles. For some reason, not all of our articles are appearing in the right side bar. Does your plugin set a limit on how many items can be displayed there? If so, can we increase that limit?
Below is the email the CHO editor sent to me:
“I’ve been preparing the next edition of cho, and I’ve run into an issue. We have a lot of material this issue (Terri got a bumper crop of submissions and chose 78 haibun, plus we have a number of articles). This morning I was ordering and publishing the pages in preparation for proofing, and the sidebar menu seems to have run out of room: It stops at Richard Grahn’s Snapshots, and there are still about 20 tanka prose pieces to go. I took a look at the entries after Snapshots and couldn’t see any difference in how they’re set up from what came before, nor can I find anything in the cms about increasing the depth of the sidebar. Would you mind taking a look to see if you can find a solution?”
]]>Hi there,
I’m using Advanced Child Pages on this website where I have 2 levels of child pages
I am having 3 things happen that I wouldn’t expect
1. On the parent page ( https://breathe4wellbeing.com/what-i-can-offer-you/)
I do not see an accordian dropdown arrow next to the child pages which have children
2. On a first level child page (https://breathe4wellbeing.com/what-i-can-offer-you/counselling/) I do not see the second level children of the page. Instead I see the accordian dropdown arrow
3. On a second level child page (https://breathe4wellbeing.com/what-i-can-offer-you/counselling/young-people/) I do not see the current second level child page and it’s siblings. Instead I see the accordian dropdown arrow
Everything feels a bit off and I’m not sure why – Is this how it’s intended to display, or is something going wrong here?
Many thanks

Advanced_Sidebar_Menu_Widget_Category no longer exists.

Do you have any suggestions?
]]>Hi,
the page widget works fine inside the left sidebar of my pages. But in the category archives or the single post view it is not visible. I like to have the page widget in the left sidebar on all kind of info. Is this possible?

Hello,
We are PRO users of this plugin. We have “Enable accordion menu” checked and “Plus” as the “Accordion icons style” using this widget documentation page: https://onpointplugins.com/advanced-sidebar-menu/advanced-sidebar-menu-pro-widget-docs/#page-widget
The accordion icons disappear as soon as the user logs out. It looks like they are the just “dashicons” provided by the WP admin system, so maybe they’re not enqueued properly? They only render on our Advanced Sidebar Menu when logged in.
We are currently on version 7.7.2 of the WP plugin, and version 3.8.4 of the PRO plugin. I don’t think updating will solve this issue as “dashicon” or “icon” was not listed in the chagelog.
Let me know what we should do to get the accordion menu icons to show up.
Thanks!

how should I change this for version 8?
