Hi there,
I know the plugin hasn’t been updated in years but maybe another user can help?
I’ve used this plugin with great effect for a while, but only to enhance ‘more in this category’ footers to blog posts. I’m now creating visual landing pages for some categories of content.
And this is proving to be a small challenge: I set the number of posts I want – say 12, and it does that all perfectly. But it doesn’t seem to auto-generate the pagination for the next 12 (there are 29 or something posts in this category).
Has anyone else seen this and is there an easy fix? Or even a difficult one, I’m not picky!
Thanks!
]]>Is it possible to change the font of the text for this plugin?
I copied the shortcode of the recent posts into a text widget and everything showed up fine but now I want to be able to change the font the text of the recent posts.
Is this possible? what class does the font for these belong to?
I tried following some videos on YouTube by using the firebug extension but had no luck!
I am using the COLORMAG theme if that helps
Any help would be appreciated!

I know plugin still dont have more then year update, but still one of best for this feature.
On my TEST website you can see: https://evolvegame.funsite.cz/ at 4 Test 1a and 1 Test a1 thumbnails still have more height from the others in the columns.

Is there a fix for this?
Thx

]]>Hi,
Thanks for the great plugin. (I mean many thanks really)
Since every featured post takes 2X width of a regular post in the widget, And I currently set the plugin to load posts randomly, The final view would be great when two featured posts are displayed among the posts. So when the plugin loads only 1 featured post or 3, there will be white space and the final view looks untidy.
Is there currently a way to specify the number of featured posts which will be loaded? Or a quick code fix that I can do myself?
Here’s my shortcode that is used in a text widget:
[lptw_recentposts layout="grid-medium" category_id="220" orderby="rand" posts_per_page="7" excerpt_show="true" excerpt_lenght="25" background_color="#5eb9db" text_color="#ffffff" show_date="false" show_time="false" reverse_post_order="false" color_scheme="dark" no_thumbnails="hide" min_height="250" height="300" featured_height="300" ]
Hi,
I want to add facebook like and share buttons under the excerpt. How could I do it?
Thanks
Hi, I’ve been using this plugin with a basic grid with thumbnails and I’ve hide all text from the options, but I’m still getting the post title above the images.
I want to use only the thumbnail as the link to the respective post.
Anyone know a way to disable this?
Thanks in advance!
I installed WP v461 and this great plugin stopped working.
Installed ARP version is 0.6.14.
Any change of having it compatible with WP 4.6.1 ?
love to keep it !

]]>Hi there,
I’m running ARP on a blog I’ve run for years. For historical reasons the categories are actually for pages not posts.
I’ve successfully used your shortcode generator on the home page to show all pages published within selected categories.
However when I want to show this on a sub-page with one category I get ‘no recent posts’.
Here’s the generated shortcode:
[lptw_recentposts layout="grid-medium" post_type="page" link_target="self" category_id="same_as_post" fluid_images="true" height="400" featured_height="400" min_height="0" space_hor="10" space_ver="10" columns="3" order="DESC" orderby="date" posts_per_page="6" post_offset="0" reverse_post_order="false" exclude_current_post="false" color_scheme="dark" override_colors="false" background_color="#4CAF50" text_color="#ffffff" excerpt_show="true" excerpt_lenght="35" ignore_more_tag="false" read_more_show="true" read_more_inline="true" read_more_content="Read more →" show_date_before_title="true" show_date="true" show_time="true" show_time_before="false" show_subtitle="true" date_format="d/m/Y" time_format="H:i" no_thumbnails="show"]
I think I’ve tried this before on other landing pages but failed. Site in question is
https://resource-centre.net/free-javascript-tutorials/
But I’ll be removing the shortcode so people don’t get confused with a ‘no recent posts’ message.
Thanks!

]]>Hi there,
I am encountering a problem for which your help will be appreciated :)!
Currently I am showing the “Advanced Recent Posts” widget in the Side Bar filled by “Customed posts” (Custom Post Type). With it, I am using the “Give” plugin, which is a fundraise plugin. It allows me to display a progress bar, for example.
This bar is displayed thanks to a Shortcode ([give_goal id=”41″ show_text=”false” show_bar=”true”]) that I included in my Excerpt. But, when I go on my website, after having configured the Widget, I am facing the shortcode instead of the progress bar…
When I put this short code on a basic “Text” Widget, it works great.
Is it normal that a Shortcode in the Excerpt of a post isn’t treated as well as in a new Text Widget?
Thank you very mutch for your time :)!
]]>Hi,
I added the shortcode to my page, but when I go to that page the posts first are displayed blocked and then when the page is loaded they are displayed inline.
I watched your demo and there the same thing happens.
That’s not so nice.
Can you solve this? Then it looks much better…
Kind regards,
Debby
I use this widget to display recent posts on my home page. In order for the grid to appear properly I have to assign a “featured image” to my post. This works fine. However, setting the “featured image” often overwrites my “header image”. I’ve scoured my theme code and cannot find how this is happening.
Is it possible there is a tweak that can be made in the widget code to prevent this?
In some of my posts, the title doesn’t show up, but the link is there. Seems like for some post titles, it is using #FFFFFF font for some reason.

This is my short code and I’m overriding css:
[lptw_recentposts layout=”grid-medium” post_type=”post” link_target=”self” fluid_images=”true” min_height=”0″ space_hor=”10″ space_ver=”20″ columns=”2″ order=”DESC” orderby=”date” posts_per_page=”10″ post_offset=”0″ reverse_post_order=”false” exclude_current_post=”false” color_scheme=”dark” override_colors=”true” background_color=”#ffffff” text_color=”#9e9e9e” excerpt_show=”true” excerpt_lenght=”35″ ignore_more_tag=”false” read_more_show=”false” read_more_inline=”true” read_more_content=”Read more →” show_date_before_title=”false” show_date=”true” show_time=”true” show_time_before=”false” show_subtitle=”false” date_format=”F j, Y” time_format=”g:i a” no_thumbnails=”show”]
]]>The post list date is not updating properly. Two old posts always show up first in list for both thumbnails and rotator. The most recent post shows up third. Not resetting date or looking for wrong date. All three have same category.
I hate to delete and reinstall the plugin, but that is probably what has to be done.
]]>Problem – grid items are overlapping one another, als You can see on this image: https://i.imgur.com/WdG8Yrh.png
This occurs very often on mobile phones and sometimes on small PC browser windows.
Here’s the shortcode I used:
[lptw_recentposts layout=”grid-medium” post_type=”post” fluid_images=”true” height=”400″ space_hor=”10″ space_ver=”10″ columns=”4″ posts_per_page=”12″ orderby=”date” reverse_post_order=”false” color_scheme=”dark” show_date_before_title=”true” show_date=”false” show_time=”false” show_time_before=”false” no_thumbnails=”hide” category_id=”13″ featured_height=”500″ min_height=”300″ order=”ASC” excerpt_show=”true” excerpt_lenght=”35″ ignore_more_tag=”false” ]

Hello,
I am experiencing problems with the plugin on the iPad. It works fine on my Macs using Chrome as a browser. But on the iPad only one column is generated.
I have made two screenshots to compare the situation on Mac/Chrome and the iPad:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/76345169/iPad_Issue.jpg
In the screenshot you can see that on Mac/Chrome three columns are created by the plugin. But on the iPad only the first element is shown. The second element is below that. If I scroll down on the iPad, the vertical distance between each element is messed up and there is no more padding.
I already tried disabling all other plugins, but this does not resolve the issue.
My site is https://www.redustrial.de

]]>I love the plugin, and wanted to use it, but I noticed that if I use a widget with fluid images, it does not keep constant image proportions for each image. So I have a list of recent posts, with a square image, the next one in a rectangular one, so one post is bigger than the other.
How can I make it so that all the images have same proportions, low height and wide width, a long horizontal rectangle, without having to resize the images before uploading or smth.
