I’d like to suggest a feature: when we have some notes published the plugin could show a colored baloon in the ‘Site Notes’ section of the left admin menu as WordPress does with unapproved comments or plugins updates, for example.
When ‘site notes’ were in draft mode, the balloon would not be shown.
In this way, the other administrator users would know about the new notes more easily.

One of my staff pointed out that if they create a site note which is enabled for admin notices and specific to the New Custom Post Type that it won’t display. If I have the Help Tab checked off that will display but not the admin notice.

I have used Dashboard Site Notes for sometime now and appreciate it’s purpose. Support for this plugin is lacking and I wold like to replace it with a plugin that does what this one has done for me up until now. I used it to keep notes to myself all the changes, plugin updates etc….in order to have a reference point to unravel when and why our church site developed conflicting plugin problems.

]]>Hi could we have an edit text link at the end of each site note, I know this sounds a bit lazy but it would just save a bit of time when editing site notes.
Scenario: You’ve been distracted by random Youtube videos, you suddenly realise you have lost 4 hours of your life and its now 2am and you haven’t edited those site notes, you browse through the Dashboard Site Note Admin Guide widget and notice a typo in a few of the notes, but!!! your weak and running low on caffeine.

I’ve been working on embedding youtube videos within the “Site Instruction” layout. I have a link below that helps explain my problem without trying to explain the issue in 100 words or less. Before I placed the last video in my contents I did edit the “parent” page “SRBC Site instructions content page” by adding an image letting the words wrap around from the right prior to adding the last embedded video “SRBC Ultimate TinyMCE Editor video tutor. Could this be the reason my last embedded video title is showing up just right of the previous ordered video? I have deactivated plugins and such to no avail.

I also would love to be able to embed videos in the contents of a note. I’ve added a video shortcode, but the video just loads forever without playing.

The Help tab is of course under-used, and nobody notices it.
By creating a means by which it can become more relevant in specific situations, you make it attractive to call it out more.
I suggest a cool, just-attention-grabbing-enough feature, to call out the Help tab. For example, a little hovering arrow that says “Special help here”. I am “a front-end developer”, so I might be able to help you with this (jQuery/CSS) subtlety.
Allow a note to show up as an admin notice on a New post/page/etc., but still always remain in the Help tab
This would allow a user to be “bugged” just enough about information in their face, but still reminded that they could always go and find it when they wanted.
Again, if I am suggesting it, I should make at least some attempt to help make it happen, if you want. (I mean, cuz I can).

]]>I am not sure how the Excerpt is meant to work (or what Content Filters are generally).
What I would like is for the Excerpt to appear in the Admin Panel, and the full body to appear in the Help Tab and the Instruction Manual.
At the moment I am accomplishing this by disabling excerpts and creating two notes – one for the Admin Panel and one for the Help Tab, but that is a pain to create and maintain.
Is there some way I can get this functionality, or can you put it as a suggested new feature – possibly some checkboxes in the settings panel.
(To be even better, in the Dashboard I would like to see the Excerpt with a link to the instruction manual to see the full post – but that would just be a nice to have).

]]>I like this Dashboard Site Notes plugin, unfortunately it is not compatible with WP-Insert Plugin. I tested several times and found, if it is installed on website that has WP-Insert Plugin, Dashboard Site Notes won’t correctly show notes on dashboard.

]]>I just upgraded to WP 3.5.1 – and I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but my Dashboard Widget for “Admin Guide” is gone!
I can still get to Site Notes under “Settings” – and I still have the “Site Notes” link to view the notes or add a new one – but I distinctly remember having a Site Instructions link somewhere in there too (under the main Dashboard link if I recall correctly – where “Updates” is found.
I’m logged in as Admin – the only Role allowed to see the notes – but I cannot find that link again under any heading!
Any ideas?

]]>I like DSN very much and use it intensively because my “clients” are kids. But the Instruction Manual grew a lot, and now it’s very tedious to constantly scroll up and down to find a particular note if not contiguous, or to reach the table of content.
It would be nice if there was a way to make the table of content “sticky” in a sidebar, or to output it as a hierarchical menu.
I added lihks in the admin menu manually using “Admin Menu Editor”. But it would be better if there was an option for that to be done automatically.
