hi support team,
first of all, thank you very much for your great plugin.
i have a problem with the display of the results list on the tablet and the smartphone.
i would like the results list to be displayed above the search field (towards the top). i managed to do this on the desktop with the following code, but unfortunately it doesn’t work on the tablet and smartphone.
/* IVORY SEARCH | RESULTS TO TOP */
@media only screen and (max-width: 921px) {
div#is-ajax-search-result-2841 {
position: absolute;
left: 0;
top: 0;
transform: translateY(-115%);
z-index: 9999;
}
}
furthermore, the results list on the tablet is displayed centered to the search field
but not on the smartphone, why is that?
i’ve tried a few things, but i couldn’t position the results list centered, as it is on the tablet.
I really hope that you can help me.
thank you very much in advance
best regards
sergio
With ivory search is possible to change the Search box selector, so will not create conflict with other search plugin?
]]>Hello and thank you for your great plugin.
I have added a series of custom fields in ACF for the Woocommerce product pages, and despite activating the indexing of all custom fields in Ivory, the contents of these fields are not searchable.
It should be noted that after making changes in the Ivory panel, I also click the Recreate index option.

Hi,
is there any option to get the search form (which now sits on the right top of my home page) nicely into my navigation in some way?
Despite the fact that obviously my theme does not provide this?
The window dialog at “Appearance -> Menus” displays: “Your theme does not natively support menus, but you can use them in sidebars by adding a “Navigation Menu” widget on the Widgets screen.” And “Ivory search -> menu search” displays: “Navigation menu location is not registered on the site.”
Usually, I’m handling my navigation through the templates in “Appearance -> Editor”.
So, I’m wondering if there is any option to get the search into my navigation without the need to fiddling around with “function code snippets” in the function.php file of my theme?
Greetings,
Maria
Hello support,
A while ago I’ve installed Ivory Search, and I’m very happy with it. But now I want to remove the search bar in the top (because I’m using the shortcode in the right sidebar now), but I can’t find any setting to do this.
It’s not in an element or in a menu. How can I remove this white bar? See a screenshot
Thank you,
Yolanda

]]>Hi just want to let you know, great plugin, and I’m using this plugin this plugin without problem on 1500+ posts with inverted index.
But the problem started when we use wpml & translated into 5 languages (yes I know it’s a lot). The search become slower, maybe because the efficiency of the inverted index with multi lingual? Do the plugin also search posts and contents from other languages when user search with original language? How does it really works with multi language content?
Is there anything I can do to make the search faster? I have increase memory limit into 8gb for wp memory limit (we’re on vps 4vcpu and 16gb memory)
Thanks in advance
]]>Latest WP/Ivory Search versions. PHP 8.1.27. A search displays the first ‘page’ of results properly. Clicking on ‘more results’ (which shows a large number, indicating more results are available) starts the spinner, which then stops, but no more results are displayed. This happens with any search.

]]>Hi there,
I’m currently using a mobile plugin that has a magnifying glass icon that when clicked on opens the search bar directly above it.
Is this something I can replicate with your plugin, and if so how would I do it please?
Here are a couple of images of what I mean:

]]>Hi,
I’m trying to use the plugin.
The feature works fine in the desktop browser, but on mobile, it doesn’t show the result.
I added the search button to the theme’s header and modified the CSS.
I don’t use the option to activate the feature on the menu or top bar in the plugin setting.
Is that the reason for the result like this?
Hi, this plugin works great, thank you for the work put into it.
I want to find out if there is a REST api endpoint for this? Currently I don’t see the same results on my frontend form as I do on {site_url}/wp-json/wp/v2/search/?search={searchterm}, so is there a special endpoint that I need to make use of in the api? Or is there a different way of searching via the API?
]]>Hi,
thank you very much for the nice plugin.
However, I have the problem that – in contrast to the competition – it is really very slow.

]]>AND search for multiple keywords does not work on either engine.
When I search for “cartoon” I get about 1000 results, when I search for “vegan” I get about 700 results. Searching for both keywords “vegan cartoon” I get nothing found, although there should be hundreds of results. I have tried everything and “Throttle to 500 posts” is off.

I’d like to use only AJAX search result and prevent the enter key operation which redirect the page to the search result.

Hello Support Team, Kindly give us some information on the below points if they can be achieved using the plugin settings or customization
>> Can we display some recent posts below the message if no results are found using the Ajax form like in the SS link attached below?
>> We found the settings to customize the message?for no search results found, but we need to display the “search keywords” typed in the search bar like the below SS link.
>>And can we also display the custom data with any options like SS link showing the “read time” for each post?
Looking forward to the information and advice.
Thank you!
]]>Hey
I test out plugins and usually give feedback along the way.
I have just installed and activated Ivory search. First thing I notice is the placement of the Search in the left WP menu. How do I for instance move it into the Tools menu or further down the left WP menu? (I assume there is no option for it.)
I added the first custom search shortcode to a page. When I used the search field it seemed to be using the Search page template. As the site uses Full Site Editing and the theme Twenty Twenty Four.
I am still exploring.
Hello,
I’m experiencing an issue with the “Ivory Search” plugin on my WordPress website. When the plugin is activated, it appears to be inserting an invalid style tag in the theme template, specifically placing the style tag above the HTML doctype. This is causing various issues on my website. Right now it is deactivated, as you can see in my header navigation the short code is not working.
I’ve noticed that deactivating the “Ivory Search” plugin resolves the problem. However, I would like to continue using the plugin if possible.
Could you please investigate this issue and provide a solution or workaround? Is there a way to ensure that the style tag is placed correctly within the theme template, below the HTML doctype, when the “Ivory Search” plugin is active?
Any assistance or guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!
Best
]]>Firstly, congratulations on a superb plugin!
I’ve set up an AJAX search field and inserted this into a custom header, with the appropriate link to trigger the search to appear, and this is working well (visible on desktop/laptop screens only)
However, when closing the menu, the positioning of the search icon “jumps” down, and I would like to prevent this from happening.
I am sure this is down to some kind of problem with CSS positioning, but I would be very grateful if you could possibly take a look and provide any pointers on how to make the closing animation work as expected.
I will very much look forward to hearing from you with your thoughts!
Alex
